This makes me remember that the best way I've seen someone troll guitar center employees was that time I heard a guy purposely butcher classic rock songs while playing as loud as he could and every time he'd stop playing a riff he'd look at one of them and say don't you just love that classic back in black tone.
I agree but most the guitar shop guys I've met are complete asses and Act like the are better then every one. I completely boycotted a store because of this refuse to go there now.
Have no fear. Steve Vai practiced is bends with a tuner. Don’t worry about guitar strings snapping. On a decent set of strings on a set-up guitar, it’s actually pretty hard to snap a string. Remember that the heavier the string, the less distance you need to bend and the lighter the string the more distance you need to bend. Practice with a tuner over and over and over for a very long time until you know exactly how it should sound and then it’s muscle memory.
I worked at a Guitar Center for about a year. You should have added “using a speaker cable as an instrument cable”. All together a good list though. Lol.
My favorite one you ever did was the never-ending 'Nothing Else Matters' with the one mistake in the lead so it starts all over again! That's a classic! 😂😂😂
3. Needs half note bends, but not quite 1/4 notes are good enough. I once freaked out a guitar store employee by doing 2 finger tapping and Floyd Rose dive bombs in an Alvarez Dana Scoop, as they looked absolutely fragile.
Before watching this video, I had litterally not seen anyone but Gary Moore play Parisienne Walkways. After watching, I still say the same thing. Edit: Played so trollingly that I didn't get the song right.
I'm great at going into guitar stores and sounding really, really bad at guitar. I'm sure it annoys every poor soul that has to hear me, not just the employees
Last time I was in my local GC...@7 years ago, the teenage guitar "tech" was leveling frets on an electric guitar. Using a metal edged 12 inch wooden ruler and a ball peen hammer. I was there @30 minutes and he was pounding on that thing the entire time. No small hammer either. At least a 20 ouncer type that metal fabricators would have used.
I used to work at guitar center... I used to tune everything to b standard. They thought it was a customer doing it. I dont know why i did it. But it was good for a laugh.
little brainstop for guitar store employees. Make a sorry face, and tell them that you accidentally dropped your pick inside a guitar. And you must hold an electric solid body guitar in your hands at that moment.
I learned a long time ago that nearly all music store employees are arrogant condescending rude Jerks. They tend to hire cheap so end up with nasty teens interested in showing off their limited knowledge or failed musicians in mediocre bar bands. And the older you get, the ruder they get. I once got a really good job and saved my $ up for my dream guitar. I drove 45 minutes to a store that had it on sale. It had a lock on it so I could not just walk up and pick it up to examine it. I went to the counter and told the guy I was interested in that particular guitar. He sort of sneered at me like "yeah, right." And walked off to talk with some kids. When I could not get any help I walked off and ended up buying elsewhere. Once music stores went internet I purchase virtually everything online. Never had any problems buying anything I want that way, sans the rude employees.
If you really want to troll a Guitar Center employee, ask them to get down the most expensive guitars they have and while they do it, make it a point to tell them all about that huge belt buckle you're wearing. When you're done playing the guitar, leave it leaning against the amp with the amp still on and the guitar plugged in but, with the volume knob on the guitar not completely turned down. If there's a wah pedal in line, that's utterly sublime. Just turn it on and open it all the way. Mission accomplished.
