What about infamous 1? Your skin gets these inky black veins, the sky is always red & people constantly attack you on-site for being a murdery-murderer

In Epic Mickey, using thinner instead of paint, killing bosses, and just generally being a dick (which is surprising given how protective Disney is of the their mascot character) causes blots of ink to slowly start seeping from Mickey’s skin. Using paint, sparing bosses, and helping people causes these blots to slowly disappear, eventually going away entirely. Again, it’s surprising to see a morality system applied to a character who is most often innocent such as Mickey Mouse.

I have a list idea for you: "7 skills we never get to use!" I'm talking about some amazing weapons/skills that we either see or hear about a character having, but we for some reason never get to play with it during gameplay... A few examples is Ratchets origami skills from Ratchet and Clank 2, and Jacks ability to kill heavy mechs in Mass Effect 2, as she is probably the WORST character for fighting mechs in the actual game!

The Phantom Pain one fucked me up cause I discovered another way to quicky earn demon points is killing critically wounded soldiers (the ones that will bleed out nonetheless). So picture this if you will. You are running around a base or an outpost trying to be all stealthy but you get caught. Next thing you know you are in a pitched gun fight. You can't always get the headshot or afford wasting the ammo making sure the enemy solider is dead by the time they hit the ground so you put just enough rounds in them to at least eliminate them as a threat. (yes I know you can pick non lethal weapons but if it's a big base and you got a lot of stuff to do it can be inconvient when the guy you just knocked out wakes up and you run into him again) Anyway the battle ends and you got a few enemy soliders lying on the ground bleeding out and it is clear they are in pain. You don't want them to suffer after all war is war and both sides were just doing their jobs so you walk up and put them out of their misery. Yup turns out me thinking im being merciful cutting their pain short was actually me being evil....so now when I am in the aftermath of a gun battle I just gotta hear all the enemies who didn't die right away moan and groan their way to death. And no I'm not gonna fulton extract them because that would be a costly expense (if I did it for all them) for soliders whose stats I don't always need. So ya thanks metal gear solid five.

What about KOTR 2? As your character falls further to the dark side, you become creepier looking like many other games. However unlike other games you can drag your party to the dark side with you and they also undergo the same transformation.

You forgot the zombification/corruption of KOTOR and KOTOR II. Cos yellow eyes don't drive the point home far enough.

No wonder my horn grew in MGS5 despite tranquilizing most of the enemies. I did beat up my own men A LOT but to be fair, I heard that it was supposed to improve their morale.

The Megaman one actually wasn't irreversible, it was just INCREDIBLY tedious to fix afterwards. I believe what you'd have to do was essentially go to the area where you could be in a game show, and do that over and over again, and that would eventually get you enough good boy points to lighten your armor (and the opinion of the NPCs you could hear behind closed doors) to acceptable levels. Yes, you heard that right, you could literally get away with robbery by having good PR.

I always appreciate interesting footage of characters being evil, because I just can never bring myself to play as a jerk, even when it looks like it would be fun. I mean, Commander Shepard is supposed to be a hero! Not a giant dick! Okay, it's mostly about characters like Kaiden or Tali disliking me if I'm a jerk...

What about Swtor. When you do bad things like murdering people and stuff, your charakter first gets Sith Eyes, and then his face gets dark. (Not a native english speaker)

How can Infamous be on this list without mentioning that your morality affects your powers. Good Del has while smoke, evil Del has black, sparky smoke.

I'm pretty sure in Infamous 1 and 2, being evil sees you getting gradually paler, like your blood is falling out or something, and you get big black cracks/veins all over your face. Like Shadow of the Colossus apparently.

Arthus from Warcraft 3 would of been good for this list. From golden haired Hero to undead Lich King. Heck, even before he went undead he looked like an aging rockstar in his first week of rehab.

Peter Molyneux loves a morality tracker almost as much as he loves over-promising and feature creep. On top of Fable there was also Black and White, where the appearance of your pet creature reflected your morality as well.

But in shadow of the colossus it wasn't a player choice. Having never played the game I had hoped there was a way to spare them.

You say the side effect for being evil in Shadow of the Colossus is becoming "pale and veiny". Like, honey, you turn "evil" no matter what you do in this game and you literally showed that the *real* side effect was being possessed by basically the demonic embodiment of the afterlife and then having your age regressed until you became the "horned child" Love your content though, you guys. :)

Surprisingly, the game Overlord had some sort of a karma system. Quite odd for a game where you play as a villain by default, but I recall the Overlord's armor changing based on... whether you are only somewhat evil vs. completely evil? There's also Secret World Legends in which you can pick a side during a few plot points and you'll get appropriatelly colored wings at some point in the late game. It's been a long time since I played the game, so I don't remember any more details than this.

Jane happily narrating the "this is what you look like on evil" list just feels RIGHT, ya know? XD And yes, the demonic wings in Fable 3 are hardly a DETERRENT from awful acts -- unless good characters get equally-impressive wings? ...I may just want wings.

With big boss' shrapnel horn, surely it can't be healthy for that jagged piece of metal to be sinking further into his brain. In this case, being evil might actually have health benefits as it pushes the metal out of his brain.

If you end Mass Effect 2 as a Renegade without using that medical equipment, those scars clear up for Mass Effect 3 before they can start again lol 🤣

I liked the scars in ME2 and I kind of wish that my paragon Shepard could have had them. I just like the idea of walking around looking like a heavily armed murder-cyborg while being kind to everybody I meet.

Honestly, while I understand the karma system in MGS5, I really kinda wish that being Demon Snake gave you actual benefits, like enemy soldiers just running away in terror the moment they spot you. Or at the very least act like you're just a hallucination and try to clear their vision for a moment, giving you time to get out of sight before they see you're actually real and open fire

If you're bad in Fallout 4, it's just Fallout 4 being good.... But bad.

The previous inFAMOUS game has a similar mechanic with hero Cole (and the first one does as well, but in a *really* minor way). In inFAMOUS 2, Cole's shirt turns more yellow as he becomes more good, and red as he becomes more bad. He also gets more ashen in physical appearance, has some Shepard-esque facial scars, and most fascinatingly of all, he gets new and more sinister looking tattoos on his arms.

I'd never actually seen Evil!Shepard's look before. That's... well, it's OK, I don't sleep much anyway.

My first contact with such a system was KotOR II, where your character, once its inclination is decided, suddenly appears on your Main Menu, replacing the main villain that previously stood in that place. She even takes on a more goodly or more sinister pose, the more she leans to the light or dark side of the force (including of course the usual changes in skin health). Unfortunately you get nothing of the sorts on a "grey Jedi" run-through...

Maybe Shepard's scars are actually an intentional thing from Cerberus? Like they weren't sure how sane Shep would be after the whole 'resurrection from a chunk of meaty charcoal' and so they programmed the membrane mesh thing as a warning sign for if he/she had come back as a murderous asshole?
