The banter between the two of you is hilarious, and your explanation of the gameplay decisions you make really bring the rules explanations from the "How to Play" video really come alive!
Thanks for making this video. The format is exactly what I need to learn new games quickly. The 'how to play' videos are great but, until I see it actually being played and all the moves being explained, I still struggle to understand the mechanics. I wish all videos were like this instead so I can understand WHY certain moves were taken.
Same for me! I find watching the actual gameplay is really helpful in learning, I think because you can see how the turns flow and I find it easier on the brain than even the (very well explained!) how to play videos - sometimes depending on how complicated the game is it can still be a brain burner for me. For instance all the steps in Dead of Winter turns I found way easier to SEE it happen during the gameplay video, plus the gameplay videos are so entertaining 😁
@@WatchItPlayed I actually just saw that! 😁 Very exciting! You might enjoy hearing that I've even got my mom (age 75) watching some of the gameplay videos with me in preparation for playing some games together (Tokaido and Takenoko, but we watched the Dead of Winter gameplay series just for the entertainment and laughs 😂) she's been enjoying them and of course so have I 👍
+Nate Bell As long as they keep happening, we'll share :) Sometimes they happen but get deleted from the camera during the shooting, so are lost forever!
Please never pull it together, Rodney. You and Pat are hilarious to watch with the fast quips, furious dialogue and, yes...cheesy puns. I may not care for the game, but viewing you two is a feast of an experience.
You should chuck out the blue card for money so that way Rodney will be forced to spend his money on anything that gets revealed or on the yellow card. at least that way you can have a little bit of an advantage after your first turn
+Travis Robinett This looks like the only sensible play. Rodney could otherwise take the Statue for free, but I think Rodney can't quite afford the Forum. You have to reveal a card either way and hopefully it won't be good for Rodney.
Thank you so much for the video. Can the person choosing who goes first in the next round, decide this after seeing the layout of the cards in the next round?
I can totally relate to Pep's OCD that affects many board gamers. I would totally feel weird if my coins were not symmetrical to Rodney's as well hahahahaha
Rodney: 'Welcome to Watch It Played, my name is Rodney Smith and this is...' Me not looking at screen: 'Luke Smith!' Pat: 'Pat McDonald!' Me double-taking: 'Whaaaaaaaaat?!'
either blue or yellow card will end up being converted into coins, the question is which will help Pep in the long run at the same time blocking Rodney. I would go for the yellow card since Rodney will have a choice of the blue or the newly revealed card. If he goes for the blue Pep will get 3 cards to choose from, if he goes for the reveled card Pep can grab the next yellow card for free and gain 6 coins.
He needs to take the blue one and convert it into money, leaving only a card for Rodney that he actually has to go broke for (the other is free for him). The MOST import is NOT to uncover the papyrus(?) for Rodney at any cost. You need that badly!
For player with high military, to create a military game, since you have coinage, if you do build more, focus on appall way or colluss to beat up other opponent economically and gain military edge. Mausoleum is for the third age as your opponent doesn't have a comity yet.
You choice of who goes first in the second age is contrary to the how to play video. There, it was stated that whoever is doing worse in military CHOOSES which player goes first after the cards have been laid out. I think that is a vastly more powerful ability than being forced to go first, especially with an inverted pyramid...
I have a very important question about the urbanism token if I took a card beacause it's free no construction conditions do i get 4 coins? And what if there was resources needed to build the building and i had all the resources do i get the 4 coin or i only get it through linking ?
Hey Mohammed, I do my best to answer all questions on my videos, but I avoid specific card effects. It would be too much for me to manage across all the games I cover. I'd recommend checking here: boardgamegeek.com/forum/1580505/7-wonders-duel/rules
watch out on science in the next age, I suggest for blue shirt to discard all science that red shirt can get access to for the majority of age 2 or shift it over toward a military game. Once any player get two of a kind, they get a bonus token that could potentially become a game changer. Pick up the blue card first and try picking up only the cards on the right side to see what the other player does.
It has been our routine to buy a new game and watch your videos before even opening the box. Not only are you thorough in covering the rules, but it is always entertaining too.
why you americans think that all the money on boardgames are dollars?? those are definitely not dollars!!!! stop thinking you are at the center of the universe! thx great video though :)
