I've been watching regularly since you were building the original and the kids were LITTLE. Time flies. You guys are super entertaining and just likeable. Appreciate you sharing.
Josh? Erin is an animal. Her physical strength is amazing!!! I've worked with men who failed in this construction you both are doing and quit. I imagine in real life she is somewhat petite. You are a lucky man. She is incredibly smart, a great mom, and a great business partner. Erin, you rock!!!!
Leoaz4667, As I was watching I was in awe of her capabilities. That woman is a Beast, as in physical strength. Then she is teaching Elle how to cook. What an extraordinary family ❤
Amen! She is incredible! Both of you guys together make a hell of a team! I’m SO impressed! 👏👏👏👏 The new build is really starting to take shape and is looking fantastic! ❤️👏👏👏
Crazy how the years go by. And it’s amazing how you’ve built the life you dreamed of. Following along all these years, I feel like part of your family and your journey to where you are now. You two are an inspiration, but more importantly, amazing role models for your kids. Enjoy your evening Erin and Josh, and as you’re preparing for winter, just be careful in the heat that’s coming this week.
Really, it’s been 7 years? I just remember the first videos from the cell phone. My goodness, how you’ve changed! I’m totally impressed and thankful to have watched you progress through your dream. Congratulations to the family👍
Yes, Elly? was just a baby in diapers when you started building the A-frame. I admire the hard work and team work that you both project and how everyone in the family have their own chores to do. Elly gathers the eggs and comforts the animals. She is So sweet. What a blessed family you have and are.
You guys make this look easy! My wife was impressed on how fast this side of the roof went up with the sheathing. Kudos to Josh on that valley rafter cut that dropped in perfectly at the bottom of the west side!
As excited as I am for your family to be one step closer to your home construction being completed, I know you're more excited to be one step closer to not have to be on the lift and working on the roof. Best wishes to the both of you for a safe rest of the build.
Crazy, I didn’t realize that I’ve been watching you all grow for seven years! I remember when you first got water going. Y’all were living in that RV for so long. So happy for y’all!
Josh, you amaze me at your intelligence. You seem to be able to see all the angles and know how to move forward. Not everyone is capable of that. Your electrical knowledge and then your construction ability is phenomenal. And then you have the fabulous Erin to help you. A special partnership in more than one way. Love your family and look forward to your videos.
Yall are killing it! Erin is really sweet too and I see why you two get along so well! She even called a 4inch overhang 6inches just to make you feel better Josh! 3:49 😁 Sorry like you 2 I can never pass up a good joke. Thanks for showing us what 2 people that love each other and work together on a task are capable of in a day when so many think someone else should do it for them!
To be honest. Each and everyday I will be looking forward to your next video. Your videos really inspired me to renovate our parents house to make it more comfortable for them to live.
I think that my mouth dropped open when I saw that you had been at this for seven years. Wow! I remember those early years when Ellie was a papoose! A great work ethic and a positive attitude and dedication to your shared goals have and are paying big dividends. The work on the roof was very impressive. Thanks for taking us along.
As usual another great video. The mountains, the house, the animals, your family, your life; I live my youth again thru you. I am 76 now, more days behind than are ahead. I wish I could have lived the life you have, but that was not to be and I am greatly blessed with wife, children and grands. But oh I can dream thru your videos. Thank you for who are, and for what you stand for. I am forever blessed by you.
I’m so impressed by all that you two have done ! I’ve been following your 7 yrs journey. You are living examples of love, family, ingenuity, dedication, self determination and hard work can achieve ❤❤
I'm so glad I found your channel to watch while we were all "sheltering in place". And you're in West Virginia where I spent a good portion of my childhood. I love that state and I've always thought of it as home. Watching the house take shape has been so much fun to see!! I now know more about construction methods than I thought I ever would. God bless you and keep you safe...
Not bad for an electrician and a chicken lady, my how far things have come. The boys are young men now with steady chores and little Ellie is even sprouting up, so glad she got her donkey. Erin you are a powerhouse when it comes to family, farm, homemaking and making a home. It's going to be beautiful when it's all finished. You and Josh make for an awesome pair when it comes to working together. Bless you all, Wild and Wonderful you're still the best real life reality show anywhere.
I started watching when you guys were living in the camper and building the power house. I just stumbled onto your channel. It’s been entertaining. Stay safe!!
I breathed a huge sigh of relief as you nailed the last pieces onto that portion of roof. Those overhangs really did change the look of your build. Kinda gave it a more polished appearance as well. Brought out the smart lines of the design. Every bit that you do is a giant step towards the finished product. A grand design that deserves some dressing up. Looks fantastic guys!!! Great job, Me southern AZ.
That's the mantra in AZ during our monsoon and winter rainy times is 'we'll take what we can get' (as it's rarely enough overall for the year, but at times TOO MUCH same as when you get hurricane related rain events).
You guys just amaze me! I dont think I have ever seen so many geometric angles on ANY project before!! Even my H.S. Math teachers would be impressed!!! I wondered what the boys were doing since they werent in much of the video. Splitting wood is the perfect job for them at their ages. Thanks to all you guys. Each year you continue to have me awaiting whatever is coming next. Great job!
Twenty years in the future, you might look back and wonder where the time went. To video so much of what you are currently doing will be a treasure in the future. Thank you for sharing!
so proud of the hard work your boys do to help. And the little one helping momma with the animals and in the kitchen. so sweet. Those boys will know how to handle many things from their experience on the farm.
You have both taught and modeled dreams, goal setting, inspiration, hard work, cooperation and teamwork for your children and they have obviously put it all into practice! I really appreciate you also taking the time to chronicle the journey for each of us. THANK YOU!
Trent and Ally have 2 men helping him build a house. Josh has everything he needs with Erin. Don’t tell me a woman can’t do anything a man can. This man approves 💯!!
I’m just gonna say you guys are the spokespersons for the power couple that I’ve ever seen, absolutely nothing like you in the normal world! Thanks for choosing to share this part of your life with us!
I too have been watching since the concrete pillars of the original house, while I subscribe to many channels, I always look forward to wwog video. You all are a great couple and work well together. Yes the kids are getting older, its kind of watching our grandkids grow up.
Josh, you're a genius! Erin you have unbelievable strength! I just can't express enough how much I love your Farm with all those open spaces and your beautiful animals. A lot of hard you two have accomplished....Stay Blessed..... from Los Angeles, CA.❤❤💯🙏👍
Oh, I forgot to mention that your doing a great job explaining what your doing while installing the various building components. Your the only homesteading site on the internet explaining the methodology behind the execution of your operations.
I find myself always looking forward to your next video! With all the lunacy going on all around, it's gratifying to see you and your family continuing to build the lives that you've been planning for so long. Your lives are filled with ups and downs, laughter and some sorrow, hard work and calculated investments, and adding to your community in very wonderful ways. I'm so pleased that I ran across your channel as you two were building your original 'A' frame. What a wonderful journey it continues to be! Cheers to you, Josh and Erin, and your family as well.
Have to keep reminding myself that you're not only doing everything we see in the videos, but you're arranging all the camera shots simultaneously. And then editing the videos. You are an extraordinary couple, no doubt!
Wife and I were on a road trip last weekend. Drove over an hour out of our way to eat at Wild Roots Cafe. Wow!!! Food was phenomenal and staff were extremely nice. Totally worth the extra driving to go there. Wish we lived close enough to be regulars there. Wonderful job Erin and Josh!
UK time 9am. The amount of work you achieved on the roof was amazing, then you have to do all the taping. - the number of hours it took you, even at this stage, must be a lot of days. I can't give you enough praise, it wouldn't be enough. Safety first, please, stay well and healthy. Love from Mike.
you should also put up a blooper compilation.I know you have lots of bloopers lol.your entire family has been a joy to watch Ever since you were in the leaking trailer.
Only recently have I discovered your videos since I’ve had foot surgery and am stuck in bed, elevating and icing. Would much rather be out there with you guys! Lots and lots of hard work you’ve put in, but what wonderful accomplishments. My dad built all three of our homes, but as a girl I wasn’t allowed to help except with under shingle painting. My brothers weren’t actively interested in learning all that my dad could have taught them. I was, but my dad said it was man’s work (this was in the 1950s). I would have loved working with wood, sheetrock, insulation, and learning electrical, plumbing, tiling, the whole nine yards. We never did anything together as a family except raising vegetables. Your boys especially are learning invaluable skills that will do them well for life. Mazel Tov on your on-going achievements.
Hi guys , I had been following you guys since 2020 or so, and want to say you inspired me a lot. Texas is not a bad angle to watch your struggle at all. Me and my wife talk about your team work and success almost everyday. Your little girl is a grown up now, I remember when you started your very first structure with her.❤ Thank you for your courage
Y'all are Awesome!!! I have been a contractor for my entire adult life except for the past 5 years. The reason I no longer build is the help in the industry is lacking! I have only witnessed 2 other 3 man crews that work with the intensity and safety as y'all !!! Yes I said 3 man crews. Don't lose what y'all have and continue not to take each other for granted!!! Timothy
Hi Guys! As always, Well Done. We are praying you get more steady rain to help with the Drought you're going through. We were talking and finally figured out who Erin reminded us of. She looks a lot like The Actresses Susan Dey and a young Mary Tyler Moore. 😸
Reminds me of a movie. Life as a house. But no one is dying. Time flies the kids are getting bigger. Awesome filming and editing. Love the content and information.
Josh, you have project manager written all over you. Your house is beyond ordinary. For even the best engineers, it would be hasell after hasell. I want to see the bloopers of this house build. You guys are astonishing. I'd like to see some kind of government program for the masses for house building families. Inspiring.
I remember when you first started working on your home. Your daughter was on your back in the cartier and your boys were so young. Gee, time flys as they say. Your boys are nrearly grown and it is goid to see them once in awhile as well as your daughter. Keeping them safe, yet sharing a little about them.
It's crazy that it has been 7 years. Made me reflect on how long I've been watching yalls journey and what changed even in my life since. I came in around 70k followers and have moved 3 times and bought a house. Now i watch as I remodel and do things myself. I appreciate yall sharing your journey, which has made me more focused on building on mine ❤
Great that you will soon be able to shift inside. Just in time for cold, shorter days and winter! Seeing the leaves turning, while beautiful, is a sad sight. It’s been an odd year across the country.
Hello Josh and Erin, Glad your parents were able to get some use from the backup system you installed. Nice job on the cuts and fitting into place perfectly, really starting to take shape. Be safe and hopefully you will get a better chance of rain soon.
I can’t believe time has flown by and I’ve been watching you guys since you were pouring foundation footers for the original part of the house. While living in a RV. What a journey!
Josh I am always how you see what has to be done and in your head you come up with the plan and with Erin's help you get er done. Amazing what a thought process, could it be that you have an AI processor in your brain? LOL! You all rock. Like seeing the young men getting the wood together and Ellie helping mom to season the food and my oh my that chicken looked finger licking good when it was done. Licking my lips. Josh your thought process is amazing. BTW I was praying and hoping that the house would be dried in before fall and winter so doing insulation and wiring and plumbing will be much easier to do. Well done by all. So until the next one be safe and prosper.
Erin looks like a young Mary Tyler Moore , the wife on the Dick Van Dyke show. Same beautiful smile ! I am so impressed by the build , steep roofs can be challenging .
This video brought up some memories for others as well in the commenting section, I see :) I was just thinking back as well at the time when Erin said that carrying those sheathings was hard at the very beginning. Now they look light as feather in her hands. Very impressive.💪
Josh has developed a nervous laugh after every comment about a new task or action, but still keeps on going day after day. Imagine if every man was so hard working!
Seriously having fun living the great life, so lucky you found each other, hatched a plan and stuck to it through thick and thin! BRAVO! Hats off to you Both.
Have ya'll ever considered collecting rainwater in a big IBC water containers from the runoff on your roof and doing some sort of irrigation system? It might help during dry years like this - you have so much roof surface area, I bet you can collect a ton of runoff and store it in a mostly gravity feed system for later release on your pasture.
Great progress again... love the edit where we see just a hint of the boys cutting wood in the background (00:31:40ish) and then the next shot is down low watching them loading the truck. Simple but it fulfills the viewer's curiosity of "hey, what's going on down there"? Great awareness of that 'need' and, as always in these videos, great storytelling throughout. 33min video flew by.
How I love watching you two working as one. Erin, your strength amazes me. And then watching the kids doing their part. A family made in heaven! Thank you for inspiring me.
This has truly become my absolute favorite channel to watch. So enjoy your family working is one unit. Every one of you deserve each blessing coming your way. You guys are what family should be.
We have a Delta Pro set up. During a recent power outage, we were able to maintain power on critical appliances and my wife's medical equipment but not the whole house. We also maintained our WiFi as the router was plugged in too. It was soooo nice to still have the important things still going, while most if not all of our neighbors had nothing during the outage.
I've been watching since day one ,when you Erin and baby Ellie was in the RV and your camera was the phone, you guys have come a long long way, and it has been incredible to watch your journey, wish you your family the best in life. You are remarkable and inspiring, thank you..❤
Your Family bonds more specially when working with your projects, Childrens support you whatever they can helping things to attend to..feeding animals, working in logs, maybe they can help in daily chores inside the house when you both are busy working..Happy to see your family happily working together.May God always be the center of your family..and i know everything will be added as the labor of your hands bless by our Lord ! keep it up and always take care in building your dreams ! Lovelots from the Philippines !
Sven Years of hard work. Seven Years of being able to see how your family develops. The Children grow up and you include them in your projects (farm). Seeing all your projects grow. It´s been a lot of fun for me to be able to experience this from afar. Thank you. I look forward to your other videos.
The house is looking fabulous, you guys are rockin it hard 💪💪. Watching your boys @end reminded me of my brother & I doin our chores together ( I’m 2 years younger so I was a brat ) I always made things harder for us 😂. Trying to understand all the different cuts you gotta make is hard. I love watching your channel cause you guys sacrifice pleasure today for success tomorrow 👏👏. Keep up all your hard work 🤘the house will be a beautiful home real soon. I love everything about your channel ♥️. May God continue to bless all of you with good health and happiness forever 🙏🙏🙏.
