Alex - That Teddy Bear was the same type of Teddy I had when I was a little girl in the early 70's. It was my first Teddy Bear and a gift from my grandmother who loved going to estate sales and swap meets. It was taken away from me a few years later because I was told I was too old to carry around a Teddy, it disappeared one day while I was attending 1st grade. I cried for weeks after that. I was bought a new Teddy bear but it was never the same. I still hold grudges about the "parenting" I received, but seeing that Teddy in your video was such a wonderful treat. I am glad to see another one made it through all these years. Warms my heart and I am thankful you showed it!

No baseball in that pack as they are English cigarettes. My dad used to smoke Players cigarettes and they had a sailor in an old fashioned uniform on the front and dad used his dad magic by rolling up a small piece of cigarette paper and wetting it slightly, putting it in the sailors mouth having made a hole in the pack to put it in It then got lit and it looked like the sailor was smoking ! So exciting!! Players slogan was ‘Players please’ I went on a tour of the Queen Mary in the 1960s in Southampton I think, before it was sold abroad

The St Michael silver coloured tin with all of the books in it is from Marks and Spencer in the UK I think! Likely a biscuit tin 😊
@Lily_The_Pink972
@Lily_The_Pink972 2 года назад
Yes, definitely from Marks and Spencer in the UK. The tin looks at least 50 years old. Their modern tins are all beautifully decorated. The St Michael trademark hasn't been used for many years.
@lynnedelacy2841
@lynnedelacy2841 2 года назад
That St Michael tin is definitely Marks and Spencer and most certainly a biscuit tin Because of its lack of decoration and perfunctory logo makes me think that it was possibly used in store from a time years and years ago when M&S used to sell loose groceries like biscuits and you could buy as many or as few as you liked without being restricted by pack sizes. All these trendy stores today where you can buy by weight seem to think they invented this method of shopping - nope your Victorian /Edwardian ancestors - right up to pre supermarket would recognise this way to shop
@Lily_The_Pink972
@Lily_The_Pink972 2 года назад
@@lynnedelacy2841 Yes, you're dead right. I don't remember M&S actually selling loose biscuits but our local grocer did. You voted buy a bag of your favourite or a mixed assortment, all wrapped in brown paper bags fastened with a twist at the corners 😁

Interesting to see the Australian National Airlines flyer. A piece of Australia's aviation history. In Oct 1957, Australian National Airways (ANA), (established in 1936) succumbed to Ansett Airlines offer of £3.3 million for their airline. The new entity was called Ansett-ANA, the name it retained until Nov1968, when it became Ansett Airlines of Australia. Ansett Airlines was in service for 65 years. Sadly, it was forced into liquidation in 2001. Their last flight was in March 2002.
