700 hp 1967 Ford Fairlane by Steve Strope and Pure Vision Design 

For me, this car is freaking perfection. I can see it running in Super Stock at Pomona, carving the apexes at Riverside, flat out on the Mulsanne straight at LeMans... this is a car with the best kind of identity crisis. Mean, nasty, rude, BAD ASS, and somehow classy all at the same time. Like I said, to my eye it’s perfection.

Shawn, thanks for taking us with you on your rides, i'm falling more and more for these classic muscle and protouring cars. This is such a gorgeous good looking car! I mean those wheels, that stance, the color and the whole mechanical engineering that went into this car makes is so fabulously beautiful. The only thing that bothers me are the missing headrests. I'm well aware how headrests standing out above the waistline would spoil the perfect lines of the car, but neck snapping torque, a halfcage and no headrests just make me nervous. That smal red lever is the shutoff valve for the rear brakeline, effectively being the handbrake, right? I loved watching Steve talk about that car and somehow had to think: "that's how i imagine Dan Aykroyd as Elwood talking about building a Bluesmobile". I had to laugh watching your reaction when Steve casually said "i let you drive it", i could feel your joy and surprise. Thanks again Shawn for taking us with you and thanks to Steve for building such beautiful cars with that much passion. I sincerely enjoyed it.

This Fairlane is the essence of awesome. All the suspension engineering, and the sohc beast underhood. Wow. I don’t think there’s ever been a guest on this channel as entertaining as Steve. The cars embody his personality. They are fun, downright jovial. But if you happen to dial up the engine room, hang on for dear life. This Fairlane is the ultimate.

I'll never forget a friend of mine's mother's car, it was a 66 Fairlane GT 289, silver with black interior. What a beautiful, clean body design. Why doesn't Ford resurrect a version to compete with the chargers, challengers, etc.?

Yes,exactly. The smells, the sounds,you feel an aliveness that words cannot justify. Those wheels took a sec to grow on me,but like a morning glory on the side of your house, it's now entrenched. pure vision and the ring bros. do about the most amazing and meticulous custom builds in the universe ! I can't think of anything that even remotely comes close. foose certainly ain't too shabby either and I've always liked his projects and been amazed by them too but again, strope and the ring'ers are king!

I think that is very difficult to find a Fairlane for built purpose... This type of build that I'm looking for: simple driving machine with power without OBDC, airbags, 1000 useless sensors and etc... Nice tune playing in the background "Chuki Beats" Thank you Shawn for one more awesome video.

I love these kind of commitment guys, A real guy should do what he wants, so he did what he wanted, he showed middle finger to GM...lol I loved this fairlane, he just changed the lane when world was looking towards Camaro, mustang, hemi.. 12:12 Shawn after some ages will be able to dispose of his childhood naughtiness ...lol That's it!!
