That looks like a Garland. We used to move those by hand back in the day. I remember the sense of dread when finding out we had to move a Garland that day, always from a greasy spoon that had gone bankrupt. And yes, they were greasy.
It is the same price when you factor in 4 guys' payroll that can pick up 700 pounds. That's the whole point, someone as small as a 130-pound woman can pick up and move 700 pounds ALONE all day, every day. That payroll reduction is worth 10s of thousands of dollars every year. And it never calls in sick.
Somehow that door frame/threshold withstood that weight. Worth a million bucks if you're a mover. You back would thank you after every job!! Congrats 👏 👏
It’s a very gentle machine. This load is a nearly statice 1000 pounds. 800 pound range and 250 pound machine. So thats 500 pounds per track. For perspective, a 250 pound human running up or down the stairs or like puts arguably the same amount of force onto a sill. Yes, there are limitations but as long as a staircase is properly built, we will climb it.
While I don’t save the receipt from the scrap yard, I can assure you that it is in fact 700. But you’re right, I can’t prove it so there you have it! 🤷🏽♂️. Have a great weekend.
