@jrod_okc is back! This time we feature his personal 1994 Mazda RX-7 and yes it's still rotary powered! Jared's RX7 shoots the most wild fireballs we've ever seen on a street car, so strap in, grab some popcorn and enjoy the ride.
@@damiendoisher7812 you mean your usdm rx7 will be worth as much as a jdm rhd supra? Doubtful lol. I actually saw a rx7 spirit R back in the day was probably like 2001 I'd always see it parked in the driveway. He moved real quick. It was rhd too.
@@v8_sami Ya I think he's confused the rx8 will never be even close to rx7. Many years down road I'm sure value will go up some due to limited ones left, but arnt going to cost a small house ever in my opinion. Rx8 isn't sexy like a rx7.
real reason rotaries shoot fire: your tuner turns of decel fuel cut to keep the housings lubricated and the excess fuel lights off in the exhaust. if not running the factory OMP you must turn off decel fuel cut or you will trash your housings.
7 Sins I did not know that. Love these cars but I haven’t been around much or learned much about them. Definitely gonna get more into them though I know how they work but when it comes to upgrading them and building them I don’t. My buddy has one same year as this one but it’s oem. Bone stock with stock twins on it. It only has the old school greddy 5 inch
7 Sins he don’t need that car to do anything crazy because he loves them for what they are he wants to get it back on the road it sat for years they went to move it and it blew apex seals.. Plus he don’t need that to make big power or a money pit because he also has a old 7.3 with a big turbo 1000cc injectors 5” turbo back and it’s tuned. Probably one of the fastest 7.3 internationals in my town. He finally blew the original 4R100 at 400k miles and it’s been holding over 1000 ft lbs for about 4 years so I’m impressed with the old oem ford trans. I think he’s going built trans next. But he cracked the transmission housing and transfer case. Blew the driveshaft to pieces and blew the rear end.
Premix residue will not just disappear inbetween accel and decel so much that you need to start putting fuel in on decel? more like the unburnt fuel from the power stroke that isnt ignited - is then expelled and ignited in the exhaust. Man iv heard some shit in my time
If you don't make a lot of money i would say don't buy one. I had a FC turbo II in high school that i bought for $800. just rebuilding the engine and replacing the seals isn't that bad as long as your careful and do the work yourself but once you start cracking housings and deciding to upgrade it becomes thousands quickly. i will say that its almost worth it, i dream of that FC more than any woman in the entire world.
Louis Shear? From Shear Performance in Richmond, KY? FUCK YA! He had an awesome white RX-7 in his shop. He helped me fix and spec out my first car in the early 2000s.
I have owned a few rotary powered cars in my life only 2 honda witch I still own one now but at some point I want to get me another rotary powered car because it is a blast and a different kind of machine. 💯👍👍👍
Good job. It's TRUE dont be afraid of the rotary. Many people in the U.S.A ship thererotary cars to Florida where we have two of the best rotary builders. Kilo Racing and Petit Racing
JRod, I really like your fleet of Japanese muscle, Ever thought about the 90-96 Nissan 300zx to complete the 90's style garage? being the Z's have so much potential, there not as popular in the tuning community.
I got a Kick out of your face you get real serious when you push the load pedal..ps we all know it's a little scary..when you release the Dragon.... but it's only 80 cubic inches..... .lmao
Rotaries are reliable more than people think. Take mad Mike's rx7 for instance. That gets limiter bashed daily and the motor lasted him 5 years before rebuild. If they're looked after well or built and tuned properly they last a while. Most tuners don't tune them properly. Mostly caused by detonation. Rotaries can't handle detonation like piston engines can.
The JIC coil overs aren’t as good as you would think they are A thing is better than blown stuff but you might wanna check out Fortune Autos custom ones
