Wow, that sounds great! I bought this synth new back in the late 80's when I was learning MIDI. It stopped working a couple decades ago, but I am inspired to pull it out and try fixing it. If only I knew how...time for some research.
Not sure why this is cheesy? It has a classic early 90s sound and more voices than the much newer Mopho and a lot of the cheesy newer stuff of today. Cheesy would be like a Korg DSM-1 or E-mu Proteus, although the Proteus has a classic retro sound now.
Very nice tune !!! I completely forgot this one !!! Hopefully you put some pictures !! Like SH-101 they could be played like guitarists, with a strap and the wheels were accessible with left hand from the back !! I see your picture now to show this 😊😊
The 707 is far from cheesy, you just need to know how to program sounds, or learn how to adjust the presets correctly. It is in fact one of the very rare synths which has a unique sound in itself, with loads of colour, warmth and character.
Why cheesy? It has the design of the Prophecy, but thats not cheesy, that was State-of-the-art in 1987, small, but powerful. Hey, you made a wonderful Berlin School styled song, good work! :D
The 707 doesn't have a vocoder or talkbox function, so your best bet would be to get a vocoder unit that can use external audio as the carrier with your voice as the modulator. I would recommend the Electric Warp Factory; I've owned one for five years and they're flexible and fairly easy to use.
I have a Korg 707 and I was wondering if there is a way to save your midi preferences. For example I want program change to be OFF. It defaults to ON. When you go to function, 7 you can set whether you want ACT, PRG, CTL and EXC on or off. Is there a way to save your choice? Right now every time I power on the 707 I need to set PRG to OFF.
Do you know how to reset to factory presets?. It's made by taking out and putting in back the internal battery? Thank you for help. Sorry for bad english.
