As a 6 year-old in 1959 my family and I rode on the first TWA 707 flight into St Louis. Being so young I don't remember much of the flight except how very loud it was.
I saw a couple of 720s, too. Thank you for including those! Also interesting to see were a few 707s powered by Rolls Royce power plants. They are the ones with air compressors atop all four engines, IINM.
Hi If you liked this clip, you might like this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wMm8Y_6wqFc.html which is the beginning of a 1 hour 50 minute programme available on DVD, blu-ray or video streaming at avionvideo.com/product/707-sk... Full details are on that webpage, but essentially this is the story of hanging four JT3Ds on an ex-RAAF 707, flight testing in Australia and then bringing it back to the UK via the Maldives and Cairo. Also check out this RU-vid clip for engine runs and our landing in Cairo! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zkr4XECtYB0.html Best regards Howard Avion Video LLP
