@@cL-bf2ug Yeah, I saw an advertisement of her 100th birthday at a movie theater. I thought she was going to make it to 100 for sure, but it’s sad how sudden the tables have turned
She's 96, it's definitely old age not emotional. It's a miracle she's still alive, walking around and able to still crack a joke. She's so freaking cute.
@@lovinliverpool I wouldn't exactly call it a miracle that she's still alive, there are hundreds of thousands of people older than her that are still living
I'm sure she's nervous. Plus we're used to seeing her perform with a script. Who doesn't get nervous giving a speech. I liked that it didn't feel at all rehearsed.
@@__-ze6qj She´s a racist because she wants the same things for black people that white people have. And she isn´t afraid to voice her opinion about it...just like they do.
Your mother was right! Ripe bananas are disgusting, unless of course they're made into smoothies, cakes, etc, and the inside of a banana skin is apparently beneficial for the skin and healing!
Cali5556 I am a die hard Golden Girls fan as well, Rose and Blanche were always my favorites. She is truly a wonderful women and deserves all the respect in the world. Her voice may be not as strong as it used to be but she is still sharp as a tack!
She was a world treasure. Acting aside, her animal conservation efforts were more than noteworthy. She was a wonderful human being. The world came little more dark when she passed.
Betty White is truly a remarkable lady who is an amazing and talented actress, TV personality and generous soul to the animal world and people alike. RIP - Betty
She is definitely beginning to show her true age...bless her heart...she is only four years short of being 100 years old. You can hear it in her voice, you can hear how she stumbles on her words. But she's on stage...at the Emmys...looking like the prettiest 96 year old woman you could ever see, and she is as graceful as ever.
I was thinking the same, I hadn't seen her in a while and now you can see that her voice is fading. Her mind seems to be sharp though, I guess that's what matters.
Well, Doris Day is the same age and from what I've heard she still sounds great and no slurring of any kind. Big difference between the two is Betty is still out there while Day is not. Traveling can take a toll even if it's just around LA where Betty resides.
I'm so glad the Emmy's did this moment for her incredible career tonight. She's a true icon in television. Got slightly worried when she was getting a little slurred with her words but then she's 96 and that's to be expected. But a legend. Thank you for being a friend, Betty.
I think it could be either overwhelming anxiety of speaking or signs of old age. It was definitely concerning though! But she made it through her speech all things considering quite well. Again 96!? She's done well just to be there to be honest.
The fact that she lived over 99 years, had a wonderful career, was loved by nearly everyone and had no major health problems up until whatever it was that caused her to pass away, are all reasons to be happy and to celebrate, but I so wanted to see her reach her 100th birthday. What a wonderful, amazing milestone that would have been and she deserved it. So as awesome as it is that she lived as long as she did, I'm still very sad that she died less than 3 weeks shy of 100. I know many others feel the same way. RIP Betty, we love you!.
Betty White is not only a legend, but a genuinely nice, kind-hearted human being. I take issue with the comments about her "showing her age". She is 96 years on this planet. What do you expect? I'd say she's doing and looking absolutely fantastic. Her brilliant attitude and personality keep her forever young and beautiful. Those are the things to focus on. I wish there were more like her in Hollywood.
Exactly. Of course anyone in their 80's and 90's is going to show their age! What do the idiots who are unkindly commenting on Betty's appearance and how she spoke on this night think she should look like .. an 18 year old ingenue?! Their idiotic comments only highlight what a shallow, deluded world some people live in.
I wish there were more like her in the WORLD, not just Hollywood. She's compassionate, funny, humble. I love that she loves animals & puts her actions where her mouth is b/c she's done so much to help them.
I think she looked and sounded absolutely wonderful for someone who was 96 at the time. She had to have someone help her walk to the podium, but she could still walk on her own two feet. Many people need wheelchairs by that age, or even younger. Other than needing a little help with her walking, I think she seemed incredibly vital and if I didn't know she was in her 90s, I would have guessed her to be 20 years younger.
@@connorbrady-ladygagafan1115 she's the last Golden Girl, and she's up there in age. We have to mentally and emotionally prepare for it. Death already is terrible. But when it's a death that comes out of nowhere, it's even worse. So we gotta be ready, or at least try to be. *sigh I'm going to go watch some Golden Girls compilation videos now.
Figs3 It will be a cold and dark day. 😥It will be like the world has come to an end. God just took our beloved Golden Girl. I don’t even want to think about it! 💔😥
Talbatha Claridy I love how much she means to *all* of us. She’s loved by all races and political parties. There’s 17 jerks who pushed the thumbs down button... but to the rest of us in the comments section she’s a treasure!
@YabaLovesKirsty WHAT!!! Race has nothing to do with this. Betty is adored by people of all colors, creeds and sexuality alike. Don't play that race shi# and negativity here please!!
Katie Couric interviewed her just the year before, when she turned 95 and she was as sharp as ever. Nobody can be perfect at all times. We all have good days & bad days & this was surely emotionally overwhelming to her. She still had a great sense of humor, cracking several jokes. She's still working, too, and surrounds herself with positive people of all ages, not just older people. I will be surprised if she DOESN'T live to be over 100 b/c here she is walking w/o a cane or wheelchair or walker.
despite her shaky voice she still looks amazing and can still walk without a crane or something. she's definitely blessed. we're all lucky to see her. bless her.
Lol that's cool that your grandma has the same birthday as dolly😂😁. I've always been a big fan of theirs since I've seen them in movies, i may be only 18 but i love more of the classics songs and movies instead of things my generation comes up with 😊.
Her speech made me actually sad. I owe this woman a lot since she kicked me out of depressions with her humor and acting. Seeing her so frail, stumbling in her talking, the voice going higher like having no power to talk... it shows that she is not immortal. And it hurts the most to see the woman you love so much, the woman you feel nothing but admiration and gratefulness, so ... like that. I just hope from the bottom of my heart that it was just a "bad day". That she is at full health for a 96y old Dame, and that she will stay with us for more years! I love you Betty!
I love Betty too but instead of being sad lets look on the bright side? How many people get to live to the age 96? When she dies I don't think she wants us to be sad, we should celebrate her long life and all of her achievements! She's a television legend, started her acting career in 1939! My grandmother wasn't even born! Betty has been in the industry for like 70 years!. Betty's a member of the best comedy show (in my opinion) that has ever aired. Betty has been a animal health advocate since the 70's, she's a big supporters of LGBTQ+ rights. I would say that she is on of the most respected women in Hollywood. I know it's hard to not be sad to see her this frail but I guess that's just life? When she dies we will all mourn. But later we can throw a huge parade and watch Golden Girls together! Betty is one of the must classy and elegant women I've seen lol. I fucking love her!!
Shes been in youtube videos recently talking just fine. Age doesn't always mean your going to stumble. Thats an enourmous crowd to speak to, alot of us would be nervous too.
You're focusing on the negatives. We all grow old. So what? It's a natural part of life. I'd say she's doing and looking pretty darn well for being 96 years on this planet. Good for her!
Isn't that amazing, but we still (luckily) have several from The Mary Tyler Moore show: Betty, Cloris Leachman, Valerie Harper, Ed Asner, Gavin Macleod, Georgia Engel . . .
She is still sharp in her head and you are the twinkle in her eye's but you see the body just can't keep up with her. I had to cry a little. I listen to the golden girls almost every night to fall asleep. Betty you stole my heart. Stay healthy you can do the 100 💙
You should watch her in Hot in Cleveland!! It's a very funny sitcom w/ lots of guests stars from 50 years of television and it just ended a couple of years ago. It was the first TV Land original program & won a People's Choice Award. The bloopers are HILARIOUS. You can find full eps & bloopers right here on YT! Of course she's not going to look or sound like she did in the *_80s_* when she did Golden Girls! But she's still working & active! That's why she's receiving so many honors. It's remarkable.
See my other comment in this thread & watch Betty in Hot in Cleveland! It's a very funny sitcom that just ended a couple of years ago. You can find eps & bloopers here on YT.
I believe this is one her last tv appearances..If we re left with anything it’s her gratitude. Every cell in my body felt the Thank You. Rest well, Betty. We love you
It was her final major TV appearance I believe. She did some voice work for Toy Story 4 in 2019 and there was her final message to her fans recorded only a few weeks before she learned the secret.
I held back because I watched it at Starbucks, but I would have flooded the living room if I was at home! My mom resembled her (similar in looks, and an exact match in mannerisms and facial expressions) and she died last year at 81. So, there's many reasons for me to cry at this!
I can’t imagine any respectable actor, comedian, or professional in the arts that does not have immense respect for this legend. Betty White was a lot, and through it all she was humble, and she was professional to the last second. What a life.
R.I.P. Betty White ~ What a shock that she passed away today (12/31/2021) at the age of 99. Only weeks from celebrating her 100th birthday! She was our National Treasure. She blessed us all with her quick humor and her rememberable characters. May she make all the angels and God laugh thunderously and smile brightly in Heaven.
Pointless anecdote: I was at LAX, and Sandra Oh was hanging out in military olive drab trousers and a t-shirt, obviously waiting to pick someone up after a flight. It was rather late at night. She was utterly human, and unaffected. Gave off a nice vibe.
I love Betty! However, people seem to forget that Cloris Leachman is 92 and still with us. She's an Oscar winner and a 20 time Emmy nominee who also deserves recognition before it's too late.
I just can’t believe she is gone 💔 she was absolutely beautiful human being💔 I’m so incredibly devastated about her passing 💔 thanks for the amazing work you have done especially your charity for animals 💔 you will be missed so much by so many 💔
I love you Betty White. You’re one of the few stars and legends who made me feel good about who I am and you showed me how much of a beautiful person you were by the way you treated people. All people. RIP Queen ❤️
I’m in tears. Betty White has been in my life for decades and I have not heard a bad word said about her. Thank you Ms Betty for being a good part of my life. Best wishes darling 🥰
Her respect for animals and humans is such a great thing. She is a true blessing from God. No one will ever measure up to Betty White. What a great actress and comedian. God Bless her.
Hello Linda how are you doing today?....Betty is such an amazing soul she is way too selfless around human's and now to animals now Betty is so unique...i pray may she continue to rest in power....Linda what do you think about Betty lifestyle ?
What is the 'Kennedy Center Honors' waiting for, till she's 110?! What a HUGE oversight that in all these years they haven't honor her for her decades in show business. She was a true TV pioneer, even producing her own show.
She was the female's version of Jimmy Stewart. what I mean by that is, a good soul respected by people all over the world with a squeaky clean lovable reputation with never anything bad or negative to say unless it was written in the script. May she and your dearly departed rest in peace.🙏
The respect and honor given to Betty White brought tears in my eyes. She’s a legendary artist, even at her age she can still throw punchlines wittily. It’s an inner passion that intensify whenever she’s handed a microphone. I missed Bea, Getty and Rue even more. If they were all alive I’m sure they will celebrate with Betty.
Hello Lady how are you doing today i hope everything is fine with you?.....i pray may Betty be born into a better life...hope you enjoyed Betty and her craft while she was still alive?
When u just started watching the golden girls and found out that she's the only one alive :( I feel sad watching this but at the same time really happy that I get to see her in 2018
Thank you for being a friend, travelled down the road and back again. Your heart is true, you're a pal, and a confidant. And if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew, you would see the biggest gift would be from me, and the card attached would say "Thank you for being a friend."
I watched an episode of Mary Tyler Moore earlier today, and Betty White was featured as Sue Ann Nivens, and even though I've seen most of thoses episodes over and over, Betty never gets tiresome. Stick around, Betty! The world needs you.
2021 was a horrible year already but some higher power thought "hey, let's make this fucking year even worse on it's last day...". Betty was and always will be the most wonderful person I ever saw on television. She was, is and always will be a legend. And the world is darker and less funny now that she has left it forever. I will keep watching videos of this beautiful woman and as long as I live I will be thankful to have lifed in time in which I could enjoy her great work and her amazing sense of humor. It's a privilege that we had the chance to witness the life of this exceptional woman. Rest in peace, Betty. You deserve it.
If you saw the video, you clearly can see that her speech is not there, due to the fact that she is getting older. But throughout she is Betty white and she is awesome. 😁
There have been very few celebrities that have passed that I actually cried...Tom Petty, Prince, and Steve Irwin. When I heard Betty White passed I cried like a baby...I'm crying now. She was a true legend across all genre and several generations. She was the type of person that nobody could dislike. She made us ALL laugh. R.I.P. Betty maybe you can put God in a better mood and help us all out down here.
Hello Sarah Betty is such an amazing soul she has made a couple soul happy before her death she is a blessing to you humanity...what do you think about the show password?
