There was another "In Memoriam" for the Creative Emmys the week before (aired on FX two nights before the Primetime ones). He was included in that along with other "behind the scenes" folks. Agreed though he should have been in this one, frankly in John McCain's place. I can only assume he was included because Lorne Michaels produced the award show and had McCain on SNL a couple of times.

How could the Academy omit Clint Walker? He starred in "Cheyenne" from 1955-1962 which was the first hour long western on television. "Cheyenne" single-handedly saved Warner Brothers studio from bankruptcy and helped usher in Warner Brothers tv with such shows as "Maverick", "77 Sunset Strip" and so on. How can anyone representing television have no regard for it's history. It's appalling!

"In Memoriam" is a final acknowledgment of industry folk, a last hurrah,if you will. It features both the known and unknown personalities who make the industry work. If there is tentative applause, it's because there are people featured whom most people simply do not know. How many people knew who writer Thad Mumford was? I knew, but was shocked to discover he was black, never having seen him til then! Or stuntman Jimmy Nickerson? Or Suzanne Gibbs? Many of these people were the invisible superstars of the industry, and were not only considered respected fellow professionals, but friends and even family in the entertainment community. Despite what people say,NOBODY knows EVERYBODY, hence the scattered applause. As for the MIAs,my guess there is once the segment is locked in, probably the night before, anyone who passes after that gets left out,but will probably be recognized the following year. And yes, I know some people who've passed well in advance got missed,THAT I can't explain. That's my two cents. Carry on.😌

@@walterminer4990 Holy Bible: And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. John 6:39KJV Jesus reiterates this 3 time in this chapter. Holy Bible: And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.Revelation 22:12KJV if heaven is the reward no one's gotten it because Jesus hasn't returned yet. Holy Bible: All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils; Job 27:3kjv Job speaks of this spirit you referenced from Ecclesiastes. It's just breath. Job speaks of this breath/spirit many times.

I'm glad to see they included Hugh Hefner in last year's show but not that immoral Stephen Hillenberg in this year's show. It's nice to see Hollywood still has morals.......

Jon Schnepp should have been in this. He deserved to be celebrated.
