Usually a center is not as valuable as positions like QB, DE, LT, or DB. They have a major impact on the O-Line, but most SB winning O-Lines have a top flight LT to protect most QBs blindside even now. But Center is an underrated position for the fact they line up the O-Line and call protections, while fighting off 300-400 lb nose tackles or D-linemen.
He’s been the best center in football for years now and is still so underrated. In most of these clips he’s running stride for stride with miles sanders at 6’4 300+ lbs WHILE BLOCKING THE SAFETY. Do you understand how difficult that is?!
I love this man! Met him near Philly while I was a banquet server and everyone showed respect and didn't bother him or his family coming from a funeral. I felt honored to shake his hand and wait on him and his family. Awesome guy who is really genuine and unsurprisingly the only person Ive had order 2 prime ribs 😆
Love Kelce such an amazing player, always consistent, great leader and mentor, he's been the best center in the NFL the last 5 years and hasn't lost a step. Dude's a legend
Linemen are something else. Never hear about them asking for trades, never hear about them complaining about a loss… they own it all. And everything runs through them. Kelce is one of the greats
Having him at 71 as a first ballot HOFer who is in the discussion as being the best center in the NFL and is still playing the best football of his career is absolutely outrageous. He’s been criminally low on these lists. But it’s all good… No one likes us. We don’t care. (Obviously that last part isn’t true due to the fact that we constantly say it over and over again because we feel upset that people don’t like us and our players. But just for the sake of this discussion, I’m gonna just need you to nod and play along)
There are 11 starters on offense n Kelce is truly the #1 center, for Run blocking n pass bocking. Easily top 20 player in the NFL right now. WHen you have the #1 offensive line in the 2022 Eagles n #1 rushing attack from 2021 bringing the sheer power of a good run blocking that the Eagles can perform with. Kelce is underrated. Only real NFL fans n die hard NFL fans know. #Eagles #GoBirds!
Glad to see him higher ranked this year as opposed to the last few. He's like a QB in the position of center. His knowledge, ability and athleticism is unprecedented
Good thing is I heard that Cam Jurgens is doing well so hopefully he can be a good replacement to when Kelce retires which I heard would be after this season or next season.
@@Lightfulday yeah I like jurgens as a Development piece and Kelce should only help with that, Eagles deadass have like 8 or 9 oline pieces that would start fit most teams
Jason Kelsey is a beast a legend All century team center the greatest center in the past 30 years in NFL the man blocks 30 yards downfield he pulls that's a center that pulls if you know it pulling means leading sweeps going out and and blocking on screens pass protect and run blocking and a team leader Jason Kelsey greatest center in the past 30 years yes I bleed green on the eagles fan and I've watched the eagles since 1979 and I watched the NFL since 1979 and I'm going to tell you this now I've never seen a center that fast that good that much heart and that much of a leader and all my years of watching football I love Jason kills kills people on the line and run blocking these great pass blocking like I said a great leader I think you should be ranked higher
Jason 👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌. Call him GOAT, Call him a Beast. The man has solidified is print in NFL history. HOFmer indeed! 2:43, to see his brother all smiles and glowing for Jason. He knows how great his brother is.
Thank God Jason Kelsey's playing another Year please Kelsey play more than just one more year play more than one more season please greatest center of all time one of the big reasons why the eagles finally got their 2017 super bowl was that man right there and he should be ranked higher than 71
The more I watch football, the more I like to watch the blocking schemes of the O-Line. As the O-Line goes, so goes the entire offense…and J. Kelce is the GOAT!
I appreciate people arguing for linemen to get better ranks. It's not a flashy or statistical position. But it's damn near the most important one to make things run smooth. We all grew up playing madden making skill positions only. But I never forget my big guys 🙏 show them love.
Eagles fan here. I watch primarily Kelce on about 30% of the plays. He’s so much action and such an animal. He’s actually one that is flashy! Deserves to be higher and I agree with you 100%.
When you look at reporters this offseason, objectively, many note the Eagles has having perhaps the best offensive line entering the league this year. I guarantee you that wouldn't have been the case had Kelce retired as planned. He's an angry player, but he doesn't let it affect him in games so you rarely hear about it. He studies the game so hard he understands what a defense is trying to do blitz/non blitz and what gap arrangement wise simply by looking at the linemans toes as the tell. I mean the work, the hours of film to understand that is insane thats not just getting by on past work its repetition endlessly multiplied. Really darn good football player and one of the big Phillys ever housed.
They'd still be up there they drafted his replacement cam jurgens this year and he dominated against jets starting dline for a whole half and the eagles pulled there starters very early maybe 5 minutes into the game jets kept starters out there for 2 quarters.. he basically made a highlight tape out there also plays just like Kelce hard to believe but go watch if you don't
@@essentialvibezentertainmen6674 But not as easily arguable for best I feel. Even if Jurgens ends up being the man following Kelce in a year, it definitely wouldve been a drop off if he had to start this year from the get go I feel. That happens with a All Pro/Pro Bowl caliber player. It's not a diss on Jurgens. I felt the same way with the Browns letting go of their center this offseason it was like that will hurt the unit in general to loose high level play even with great players. But yeah he does which makes sense why Kelce was involved in process.
This is a nice reminder to completely ignore lists like this. He’s been a top 10 player in the league for about a decade. Games are won in the trenches.
He is the closest thing to the late great Mike Webster- what he lacks in size he more than makes up for it in strength, speed and character. A sure hall of fame for me. From a Steelers fan.
Fun fact : Kelce wouldn’t be in Philly or maybe the league if it wasn’t for “Chip Kelly”. He wanted to revolutionize the game with an ultra pace no huddle offense. Kelce was thought to be too small at the center position drafted in the 6th round out of Cincinnati. He fit exactly what Chip wanted from his O-line. One of the worst coaches in NFL history brought Philly a 5X pro bowler , Super Bowl champ , 1rst ballot hall of famer. 🤷🏻♂️🦅
