I had a couple of close encounters with humpback whales off the central coast of California... they would approach my stand-up paddle board .. I squealed like Kara but I was too busy gripping my SUP for dear life to reach out and touch one! This made me smile so!!
Sometimes watching people have a "perfect" life, week, or day, can be tiresome- but honestly watching Kara and Nate just enjoying all the moments (especially in this video) just makes me so happy for them and brings a smile to my day. Wishing you a wonder full 33rd year, Nate!

I really love the interaction with beach vendors. You’re so right that the $10 means way more to him than you. We visited Mexico shortly after tourism opened back up after the virus. Our driver was telling us how hard it had been on his community without tourism. Everyone worked so hard to make our trip special. Tipping well and buying from local vendors was the least we could do.

I remember each and every video you guys showed! It was such a struggle for Nate, back then, to spend money on anything that wasn't a necessity. But it was understandable, as they had a very tight budget to work with so they could continue to travel. He sure has come a long way, and I'm proud of him! Knowing the money meant more to that vendor than to them. ❤️

I originally thought the best part was the whale petting but I was wrong. The best part of this vid was the last. Kara that was the ABSOLUTE BEST and MOST LOVING speech! It is so obvious how much you both love eachother. I'm so happy to be able to see and live vicariously through your travels. Happy Birthday Nate.
Similarly to Baja, we also have military checks. You need permits to drive through parts of the country, and it is forbidden to drive alone (you must carry passengers). You also need a certificate of driver training (to be renewed every year), a fuel validity document (a certificate confirming that the fuel was purchased from an authorized source), and a mechanical certificate (to prove that the car is in working order). Yes it's a lot of restrictions but we're doing this to show a point that it is much more friendlier to the environment if you use our vast railways rather than drive. A lot more people in the country prefer to take a train or bike. And the US should do the same. Trains connected the US first, yet trains nowadays in the country are treated like trash while in Europe and Asia it's done nothing but advance. Hope this changes soon
