I'm over DJ as much as anyone else, but anyone who's unhappy we ended up with Nabers instead of reaching for a QB needs their head checked. We got the second or third best player overall in the draft at 6th. Be. Happy.
I'll be happy when the team has a sustainable winning model again. Until then, fck you and your shiny hood ornaments for another 5 win season. A whole DECADE of irredeemably unwatchable football, with no end in sight... and were supposed to be happy lol
@@flip270is it the same Front Office 👀❓ No Right What you think a new team is gonna be built in 2 years ❓Ya need to relax we want a Star QB but I rather us get who we want then what we think we want build the team then get your QB like Texans did with CJ get the pieces the QB will come
Idk if it’s sports fans in general or just NY since I only follow NY sports, but this pessimistic fan base pisses me off man. Lot of depressed bums tryna keep you from getting excited for your team.
Don't worry our QBs will be sure to stunt his growth, and then we can look forward to sideline temper tantrums from a star WR who isn't getting the ball again. Yay...
@@kooljoe35 don’t disagree with you there, I liked JJ more than most, but I felt like it would’ve been a reach at 6. Didn’t like the fit with the Giants either and Daboll’s offense. Maye would’ve been, but pats took him so BPA is the way to go. DJ/Lock/Devito is pretty bad but serviceable for now, we can still get out of DJ’s contract next year and take a shot at QB when we’re not pigeon-holed into forcing one that’s not our guy.
Jaylin Hyatt is a speed demon but he needs to brush up on his route running, having said that Malik Nabers is an excellent route runner who is a number one wr and playmaker
Maye was clearly the Giants guy, but he wasn't available. Schoen made the right move by not forcing QB. At least now we'll be able to say no more excuses DJ -- you finally have an ELITE receiver. Get him the ball. Last chance.
Lmaooo Jones is still gonna get no less than 50,000 excuses. It's inevitable, there's no ifs about any of this. He WILL suck, we WILL lose, and you WILL hear about.. Wah he's not healthy! Wah his RG got injured! Wah doesn't have an all pro fullback! Wah he was traumatized by an iPad! Cultists are gonna cult.
Slayton, Nabers, Waller (?), Wan'dale, Hyatt and Hodgins... How'd you like to be a DB facing a combo from this crew on 2nd and 8? Don't forget that Singletary is a very capable swing pass receiver. Not at all worried about the QB room. Strengthen O/D-Line and DB. My prediction - Giants will be dangerous this season. They'll have a major chip on their shoulder.
I think people may need to pause on Jones and pause on believing Shoen was forced to pay Jones. He and Daboll actually think they can win it all with DJ. That is why they paid him. He is prototype size with run option. Do you remember training camp last year? This off is going to look flawless in camp. 3rd year with same qb coach, off cord and hc. They are going to dial this offense in. If the offense line plays (and it should with all the draft capital ) and he avoids injury, 2 big ifs, this offense could show. Daboll can see it.
Now they need to reinforce the O line to give whatever QB they start a chance. My prediction without reservation was Nabers. My prediction for round two is O line or D line where it all says. Shanahan says that you can help a tackle but you can’t help a guard. No surprise if they take a guard.
Nabers was the only choice, giants just got a future HOF WR there is no choice but to get Nabers and make your offense a threat for the next decade, jones hopefully will come back with a vengeance and worst case we draft a QB next year or in 2026 maybe get Arch manning who knows either way I have faith in Daboll and Schoen
@@jaketamsett4792I want guard round 2 just to make sure we get our guy but if a corner really falls to that pick I’d be hype. Sneaky pick is newton if he actually falls even more he’s a monster imagine him next to dex
Yet you'll be back to making the same excuses in a few months when he's still putting up the same numbers and we're still losing. I'll bet my house on it.
1. I think it was Bobby last night that convinced me that Lock is a wild card with the amount of reps he gets with the 1st team through camp. 2. Body cam like Bobby said would show the type of person Malik was, he seemed to tell the truth and admit to not having a license right away and not lie or be a dick abt being an LSU WR. Imo
A top 5 WR is a luxury pick. And I like nabers. Let’s just hope daboll gets a shot to develop a qb in the future. I would’ve drafted another OL/DL. Wr is deep.
@@mickpratt8327right there with you, Nabers pros are he comes in as a top 15 receiver, he's turning 21 in a few months, he requires more than one guy to be defended which will garner opportunities for others. He's a dog and wants the ball, so you know he wants to be great.
I don't think there was an OL/DL player there , worthy of a #6 pick. Trade back was a possibility, though. There are several excellent WRs available later. Oh well, we got a potentially great WR. That's pretty cool.
It's not just that he had an unregistered weapon. It's that he chose to take it to a place crowded with drunks and cops right before the biggest day in his life. How many games would he have been suspended if happened this season? He would be in jail right now if it wasn't for New Orleans corruption. And we picked him #6, and he doesn't run crisp routes.
@@Thagomizer-U235 He literally had it in his pocket & the cops noticed it. With Odunze still there. If Nabers has any off the field issues. Gonna be on Schoen.
1000% agreed with the segment, how our offense is gonna be for the future, Daniel jones and the giants are gonna file for divorce next offseason, and of course the PHENOMENAL SELECTION OF MALIK NABERS BABY!!! The giants passing on Drake Maye means we HAVE TO get the franchise guy next year. Malik Nabers is a game changer though and I’m excited for him
The Giants were never seriously going to trade with NE. Way too much to give up for a project. Jones is a much better QB then you give him credit for. With a much improved O-Line, receiving corps, and RB group (you'll be surprised), Jones will remind you why you called him Danny Dimes.
Ton of QBs taken and the no one was a USC QB - I'm sure I've seen this story before. DJ is good enough to win. This kind of nonsense is the same stuff that was said about Eli
I'm definitely good with this pick. Yeah I know there's questions about who's throwing him the ball, blah blah blah but hey, they tried to trade up apparently but it takes two to tango so what else did you want them to do?
I'm happy with Malik Nabors. I didn't want JJ but... JJ McCarthy: I heard that on 3rd and 4th down completions he was first. Does Cousins have that stat? Probably not. And, he was a winner... Seems I'm talking myself into a hole. JJ with the Giants would have been horrific. Esp with our line... Not a DJ supporter... I hope I'm wrong... Good work
All the excuses DJ has gotten has been decently valid.ZERO RECEIVERS ZERO OLINE.I don’t think jones is good but Jesus cmon this dude never had a chance
@Timmy13713 Jones is average when it comes to starters in the NFL. He's just always had a terrible offense for the most part. This draft may drop him even lower on the QB power rankings tho.
Naber's lack of crisp routes, lack of elite speed, and trouble with press makes me think he will feast against bad Ds but be shut down by good press CBs with good D.
He's 4.38 speed. He's only 20. Probably due to get faster. His routes are top of the draft. Ask Steve Smith. And he has plenty of release off the jam. I think you might be looking at the cup half full
LMAO bobby: do i like the future of the giants no do i think the giants are super bowl Contenders no Also bobby i feel better about the giants than i did this morning 💀💀💀keep it up bobby love the work this made my day 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Okay so there are receivers who've performed with bad QBs. The difference is that those QBs will pull the trigger and throw the ball. I just don't picture Jones throwing the ball to Nabers 140 times. He just doesn't throw to the receivers. You can blame it on the receivers not being that good but our other QBs weren't afraid to try throwing the ball downfield to them. Our lack of explosive plays comes down more to the QB being gun shy than the fact our receivers weren't top-tier.
... and here comes the Hopium. I wish Nabers well but I just don't think the needle will move very much. I just mourn that we can't seem to get a first-rate QB.
And trade Slayton?? Smh. Hopefully the Giants have learned their lesson about starting players who are unproven and not ready. Hyatt needs to earn his reps.
Schoen and Daboll went into the 23 season with a young and inexperienced Oline. Completely miss evaluated what they had there. On top of that they dealt with injuries which led to the worst Oline play I have ever seen. So I am completely baffled how now DJ is scapegoated for the Giants failing to compete in 23. DJ took a bad beating standing in there without Andrew Thomas.
As bummed as I am for us not getting Maye, having an improved oline and Nabers on the outside will open up a lot for Hyatt, Slayton, and especially Wan'Dale I think. Just need DJ to rip it. Stop being so damn timid, YOU'RE IN THE NFL BRO.
Who knows about this “ QB Hell .” Every year is different. Nobody saw Cousins going to Falcons. Nobody saw Wilson being cut. Who the hell knows what Jerry is going to do with Dax next year. And nobody saw Burrow having a transcendent year at LSU and becoming the overall #1 pick. My point is, every year is different and every year has surprises we did not see coming.
As much as i dont like our qb situation, this was the pick to make. Solidify the wr room, fix the oline and our future will look bright . Let's see what happens when they add help for the qb for once.
All yall over react our QB situation so bad , really not as bad as y’all making it out to be . Watch DJ come out firing first 4 games of the year and all the sudden y’all flip the script again . We’ll see . Nabers was a great pick .
I get what youre going for but the nascar package was spags' dline rotation tuck, osi, strahan, and kiwanuka. Nabers/slayton/hyatt/wan'dale are more like a formula 1 package lol just fast a shit
Taking a “swing” at a pick, is for rounds 5-7. Picks 1-4 are way to valuable, you would be better served if you simply out right sold off or traded a 1-4 pick instead of taking a swing at that price. Taking a swing at a price point where you could sign a good veteran player of known value is dumb. That’s Dave Gettleman BS, like swinging on a day 2 QB on day1. Which we all saw again this year after the top 3 QBs were drafted, I’m just glad NYGs didn’t take part in that BS this year. Just think, if we can get DJ to just play good enough to win half of the time for the rest of his entire contract playing it out in full. Then we can quite possibly draft the next Manning in line for the crown. Arch needs to be a Giant,
No one is trading for Slayton. I'm sorry… but we as Giants fans tend to overvalue our players because we are not used to real talent. I doubt Slayton would be anything more than a backup. So then the question is…why trade for Slayton when you can just draft a player of equal talent or higher ceiling in a draft flush with WR talent.
usually when these guys are really happy about something the giants do it turns out to be a disaster.. although, i def like the pick also. Qb situation is not fun though
How soon are you going to run this guy out of town? He's an excellent player but, that really doesn't seem to matter around here. The fan base will find a way to blame him for whatever ails the Giants.
I had this thought, if I told you you could have any qb in this draft not named Caleb Williams and not know what happens. Or you can have nabers but I told you he has the same career as Mike Evans. What would you do? Honest question My point being. People don't put a lot of stock into teams that build their roster to a point where a hof talent is willing to make a run with them for a championship (i.e. Rodgers, Peyton, Brady) There aren't that many legendary qbs the way people think. And it's almost impossible to tell which are which when you draft them. However, a great roster will attract a legendary qb trying to extend his championship window with more certainty than blindly trying to draft the next hof quarterback
It was obviously correct. They spent all pre draft telling you they were making calls. You have NFL people telling you they were making calls. The owner told you he wouldn't be opposed to a QB in round one and in the post draft presser Shoen said he's happy with what they have at QB. It was Maye or bust and unfortunately for Drake Maye it busted. Thats as bad a situation he's going into since Sam Darnold.
Tom Brady wasn't top of the draft worthy but he works hard. I think Giants fans will regret not taking him and Joe Shoen should get fired. We are the second dumbest fan base. The cowboys are number one.
Did Odell make us perpetual winners? He’s not gonna be as good as Odell and Odell was historically good while he was here. Not a DJ believer let's go, Lock!
My heart goes out to the tens of thousands of young men who are not talented athletes sitting in prison with an indelible mark on their records thanks to our corrupt judicial system
Nabers will maybe give us 1 year than he's gonna ask for a trade like toney and maybe he'll retire like Waller, nobody wants to play with dj. Not sure how anybody can be excited bout this
