Its not about changing the rules, its about motivation. NBA needs to find a way to integrate all-star game to league progress somehow. The only "logical" solution for me would be back to east vs west and the winning team gets home advantage in the finals, regardless of the score during the season. So when you see that about 7 players on each side thinks they can reach the finals, they will fight for that home court advantage. The coaches should always be from the no1 seeds also. Simple as that.

This should be named “All Star shooting practice”. No basketball, this really sucks.

I honestly don't get why any paying fans would just sit there and watch this in silence. If I was in attendance I'd be up trying to get the crowd involved in a mass booing, chant or even just a mexican wave. I don't know if this is common for US Sports but if there is a boring game of any sport in Australia the crowd in attendance will always make known there displeasure at the game not via tweets. Come on people gotta let those players know they gotta lift there game. People pay good money to attend this game only to have neither team play defence?
