I’ve been waiting for someone with e-bike knowledge to review this bike and you did not disappoint! I wanted to see someone that also has the 3x to compare the two. I can’t wait to see more videos with this bike!
Wow, when Rawrr does something, they do it right. This thing is gorgeous, and it's impressive how much attention went to making everything perfect and still being so cheap.
Don't say you can't figure out why it's only $3000. Instead raise the question of why the others are so much more expensive! We've been getting flagrantly ripped off surron etc. Having the industry wrapped up has been a license to print money for surron and talaria. If we truly want our industry and sport to gain both popularity and exceptance. We need companies like this to open it up to a wider audience. So many people love these things until they here the price and then they catch they're breath and leave the conversation hating these thingsbecause they know they'll never be able to buy one and think of those who can are elitist snobs. Especially after you buy a surron etc. The first thing you want to do is upgrade it. Not many people can afford to pay more for an ebike than the cars they drive.
Well just to give you some perspective on how much upgrades are with these types of bike in general.. my 74V battery and charger alone from Charged Cycle works for my Talaria is $2,200.. that’s almost the cost of this whole bike. It’s not just Talaria and Surron, it’s the whole industry. Keep in mind regular pedal e-bikes from Specialized are also $8,000!
@@PatOutdoors right?! It's like are you kidding? You can't justify those prices when you realize they are spending $500 max and I mean max per bike to produce. It's crazy. As more and more companies tool up the prices will fall. I just don't feel like waiting 5-10yrs.lol I havthought about putting a kit on my downhill mountain bike.
They're not only 3K anymore. This industry is always growing. New companies hit with low prices at 1st then jack them up once the buzz is out. 4500 now
Another great initial impression content. Looks like a very nice bike as well as great value. Maybe Ritchie will like it so I can have my XXX bike back😊😊
@@nbcursed1552 they called me the day the bike got to the VA terminal, then the freight company called me to schedule an appointment for the delivery. Signature required
@@wadebrewer7212 Loving it and it’s a beast in the dirt! Did a ride out with 4 250 and had no issues keeping up and beating them off the line in Sport mode
@djcoolcliff I'm not the spring chicken I once was. I've owned two stroke dirt bikes and had YZ450F for a few years. Would like to have something to putz around on that is tame enough to ride with the kids on their bicycles but fun enough when I wake up feeling young for the day. Thanks for the feedback here. Much appreciated.
12:50 easy fix, get a switch off of Amazon, only thing is you'll have 2 switchs, one for power to the headlights & the second one to control high & low beam...or you can find a 3 position switch & rewire it but that requires cutting
Good point, but you can say the same thing about the Talaria XXX, but E-Watt was still able to fit a 74V 44AH within the frame enclosure (that's what I have in my personal XXX)
That's hard to say since they are in slightly different price brackets, but the E-Ride pro is the best bang for the buck bike IMO. I think it's a fight between this and the /talaria XXX in this price bracket
@@PatOutdoors Yea I was hoping it might get by in that gray area lol. I know some places are more strict about these Surron type bikes than others. I saw in the real strict places people put on the bike pedal kits to work around it.
@@breannacarter1435 I love my Talaria X3.. but I think this may be a better value per dollar. I also think it’s the better looking bike with a more comfortable seat. It does give out more dirt bike vibes though, which may be less Karen-friendly
They already started shipping bikes out this week so if you pre-order now, you’ll likely get contacted by them a week or so later. You can call RAWRR if you have any questions about this 951-521-2980
@@mt_mag they must be measured differently. Because I also owned a Surron LBX just a month ago and it’s 100% slower than this Mantis (in stock form.) The Surron did feel like low-end torque was a bit better, but overall acceleration is better with the mantis. The Surron has a larger support for aftermarket modifications though (if you’re planning on modifying.)
Hey pat love the video if you don't mind me asking the ttr 90 qs 138 e bay kit is the far driver controller tunable or does it come tuned? Just ordered mine for a ktm 125 frame.
It does not come pre-tuned. You need to program it yourself. Just look up either @VoltronWatts or @EMXBrandon 's guide on youtube, both of their videos on "How to program Fardriver controller" are very useful.
@@Nobodyatall00 oof well.. I have both so maybe I’ll test them against each other this weekend. My XXX goes 62 MPh but I also have over $3K in mods invested in that bike so it’s not really a direct comparison 🤷🏾♂️
@@PatOutdoors That's why I was asking.I have a red lunar triple x and I was wondering before.I buy motors and controllers and batteries. If that wouldn't be a better all rounded bike.I'm upset with the 50 mile an hour mark. But it's torque is what i'm mainly interested in
@PatOutdoors yeah, you have the Mantis X which people should get if they want a deal but the regular Mantis is the same price as Eride & is limited to about 54mph
How would you compare this bike in terms of performance with your custom builds like your YZ250, or the pit bike build with the QS138, or even the MX650?
It’s miles ahead of the pit bike or any of my razors for off-road capability, but not compared to my YZ250.. but keep in mind this is just how the bike comes from factory and I have well over $3K in parts modifications and 20 hours of disassembly / assembly / fabrication / wiring invested into my YZ250.. plus the cost of a Yz250. 🤷🏾♂️
What is the name of the rear tire? I am looking for a good rear knobby for my xxx. This one looks better than the one that comes with the xxx off road wheel set which looks like a front tire on the rear.
@@PatOutdoors facts i emailed ebmx about the 9000 controller they put up for the mantis and they had the nerve to say there is no such thing and said keep on the look out
No, but there are connectors for turn signals on the harness going to the front and blinker arrows in the display. So maybe retrofitting blinkers is an easy solution
Thank you! I ordered mine a week ago getting excited any day now it should be here. Your video made me wanna pull the trigger on the purchase keep Up the great work
Just got my Mantis X the other day. I pulled the battery out to recharge and clean out the dust and noticed 2 square rubber blocks laying in the bottom of the battery compartment. They were just laying there loose. I can't figure out where they came from. Do you know where they go ?
@@khoavo505 Love it. Perfect for what I wanted it for. It's faster and more powerful than I expected. I ordered mine on Aug 2 and it arrived at my house on Aug 7, so 5 days.
@@AidenZ7334 well handlebars are pretty universal, but seats i believe GUTS racing has one out. What I really wanna see is a controller upgrade since the speed caps out at 50 mph, BUT seems like it could have had more juice to go faster if the limiter can be disabled.
@@AidenZ7334 I already am lol, though very little info about it. I’m still trying to figure out how to change setting on the controller and looking over the harness
hOW ARE YOU LIKING THIS BIKE? I am seriously thinking of buying one today. I like the price point but for 2k more you can get the eride 2.0. I had the 4th surron sold in the united states and it wasnt good at all and pretty slow at 38mph with 60volt system. Ive been out riding street bikes and now Im coming back to electric moto. This bike looks good. I will mostly use it off road for jumps and trails. How does it feel riding hard, does it feel like its under powered at all? Do you think this company will release more power on this stock bike> The bike looks the best imho out of all of them......any info before I spend 3k would be nice. Thank you
I love this bike! The E-ride pro is definitely the better bike though, assuming you have the budget for it. For riding hard off-road trails, doesn’t feel underpowered at all. I actually made a video a few days after this one comparing how it performs vs my Talaria off road, in case you wanna check that out.. I think it’s the best bike for the price range.
@@PatOutdoors I like this mantis x but the mx4 talaria seems to have better useable punch and mx4 seems to be more planted. I did not like the talaria until your video. I have since researched it. NOrmally 60volt battery is a no go for me but this mx4 power system is refined and I think it has better useable punch and both bikes have similar top speeds. Does the stock mx4 have better suspension. I like to go big riding, drops and 20 30 foot gaps. The talria also sounds awesome on dirt trails.....whats your take so far, take the price out of equation....
@@dbirds21 Well my boss has an MX4 and I ride that here and there.. Taking price out of the equation, it is the better bike for what you're describing. Keep in mind it's a different class / bracket of E-Moto though, like comparing a BMW M3 to a 335i.
@@PatOutdoors The crappy deal is for 600 more I caan get the eride s.s which is better than the mx 4. What a shitty decision to make on my purchase which is happening in the morning. Its either the mantis x, mx4 or eride ss
@@PatOutdoors absolutely 100% I agree. I just wish they made a pedal kit for it. I like to abide by the Law, do you think they will come out with a pedal kit?
@@PatOutdoors that’s one of the reasons I want a P51, I want the suspension, especially for my older bones😂 I just hate the fact that it cost $1000 more than this😵💫 makes me sick
@@PatOutdoors i saw it and knew its what i wanted and i was bummed when it said pre order still, i need time to get the funds but not a year lol. thank you
RAWRR claims over 60 miles on eco riding lower speeds, but I haven’t performed a range test yet. I’ll be doing further testing offroad and range as well next coming weeks so stay tuned. But from my short ride on Sport the whole time, I’m estimating maybe 25-30 miles higher speeds.
@@PatOutdoors i did have a really weird problem tho my display is showing zero percent and it won’t throttle or anything, i can’t connect to the app or anything but it still turns on and the light goes on, i asked for help from the support but i can’t find anything
@@slingman1981 not the same class of bike. I think an E-ride pro SS is the better bike, but it’s also $1600 more.. so not the same price range. That’s like comparing a Volkswagen GTI to a BMW M3
@@pumpslumpgaming7773 hmm it depends what state you live in and what documents they require for registration. These bikes come with off-road only certificate of origins. But the bike has power outputs for turn signals on the left handle so.. one step closer I suppose
@@PatOutdoors I sent the a email in the middle of the night I hope they fix their website so I can preorder the 2024 model using PayPal. On their website you click PayPal check out option and it doesn’t do anything
