Dwight Brown I think it would be fair to say that most of these cars are almost priceless- the ones that aren’t are TENS of millions, not a million.

Yes, If you were to investigate the cars' chassis numbers and race history, you'll find they were original cars built and raced in period. Some of the cars in the race were pretty significant examples as well.

That is because you can buy a brand new replica that is period correct. A real Bugatti 35 would be far too expensive to race I think

In period, most race cars were one-offs or factory-built race cars made in small numbers. The Bugatti Type 35, and its later update the 51 were made in hundreds. They were fast, and you could actually buy them.

Ferrari ran the Alfa racing department back in the 1920s & 1930s before leaving and setting up his own company.

I know they are grown men...but racing these cars is incredibly dangerous. I think the cars should have the basic mods to keep the drivers alive. At least a roll bar.

If the drivers want to stay alive, they shouldn't crash ,yes?😘
