Extreme heat continues to plague Texas and much of the U.S. as the heat index is in the triple digits. NBC’s Kristen Dahlgren reports for TODAY on how 74% of the U.S. is experiencing longer and more intense heat waves compared to 50 years ago and Al Roker has the latest forecast.

Totally agree! It has been hotter here then even Palm Springs, CA! It's nuts! Thank God we have good air conditioning, although I think everyone is going to have high bills, better and safer for everyone to stay inside and cool in this heat.

They need to read weather history which they don't bother but just make statements saying that's how it is. That's what happens when people report on a time that they weren't even born yet. The years 1934 & 1936 had massive heat waves. Other years have too. June, 1990 the temps were in the 120s in Arizona. It's summer and it's hot, get over it.
