Many great movies on your list - I’ve probably seen about 50 of them and remember being freaked out by several when I was younger - The Exorcist, The Omen and The Evil Dead being the ones that spring to mind. Totally agree that practical effects are so much more effective than CGI in most films, especially horror. I’m not as keen on horror movies now I’m a little older but there are a few on your list that I will try and catch up with.
My Top 5: Hereditary The Shining Lake Mungo Jacob's Ladder ,,,,hummm.... maybe Exorcist III or Werewolf in London edit: someone reminded me Pet Sematary :)
My family blindly rented "The Hills Have Eyes" (2006) from blockbuster for our family movie night, and it scarred us for years to come. Surprised that was excluded from the list
I'll just say I don't think Drag me to Hell gets mentioned enough and IMHO is one of the most original horror films ever made! The possessed goat scene is forever stuck in my head lol 🐐👹🔥
You know, Variety released their 100 greatest horror films list and it would be fun if you guys reacted to it the way you did for Empire Magazines greatest of all time 😊 Great list by the way
@raidersofthelostpodcast_ some really good choices (but also some questionable ones, Predator!) but if you are using 'scariest' as the title of your list I would really recommend you need to watch the likes of The Entity, A Tale of Two Sisters, Wolf Creek, Ringu, The Eye (2002), Dark Water, Haute Tension, Martyrs, The Haunting (1963), The Others, Cure, The Babadook, Spoorloos. And I'm sure I've left some out!
Excellent job, guys! Is it just me or did you only list 74? I think you jumped from 33 (Friday the 13th) to 31 (Funny Games),... Anyway, had fun watching it! Great list, and gave me a few to put on my watch list.
Just stumbled onto you guys looking for some good horror recommendations. I love your vibe! Every other video I watch you can tell it's either AI genarated slop or someone just reading someone else's list.
Idk what happened in other parts of the US when Blair witch came out, but our small town in WA had the rumor it was real footage so when my gf and I saw it we were shocked and terrified until we finally found out it was fake. 😅 I wouldn't leave someone's side. That ending made me rethink life and religion until I heard it was fake.
I was screaming off the top of my lungs when i heard that "Jeepers Creepers" is in the list. It's one of my favorite horror movies ever. Oh, and... It's nothing like "IT" 😢😢😢😅😅😅 UNSUBSCRIBE 😂😂
You forgot John Carpenter directed Kurt Russell in "Elvis". Unsubscribe. Then you remembered he directed it. Re-subscribe. Then you decided he didn't direct it. Unsubscribe again. I'm getting dizzy. 😵💫🤣
You guys did a great job with this list but unfortunately you forgot about The fourth kind. I did not sleep the night i saw that movie. For your error i will have to UNSUBSCRIBE!!!
Hereditary is far too low on this list made me yell out loud on my commute to work almost forced me to UNSUBSCRIBE!! But I won't cuz the podcast is great keep it up.
It may surprise you, but we didn’t have time to prep 75 films extensively in 24 hours, this is a two hour conversation and sometimes you forget things while in a dialogue, we’re not robots we’re human beings who aren’t perfect
Jeepers Creepers, it isn't scary at all, I watched it with my kid and we cringe and laughed at the cringe the whole time! It's in my top 3 of film so bad my brain wanted to die, right there with Avatar the last air bender and Twilight. Also, Lost Boys, most overrated film of all time! It's mid at best! 😂 Great episode tho (despite those abomination, but I guess abomination is in the vibe of scary, spooky season)
