Want to become an #armyranger? Here is a glimpse into the first step.
Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 1 (RASP 1) is an 8 week selection course serving E1-E5. Individuals who attend RASP are provided continuous opportunity to demonstrate their highest potential, and those who are able to bring forth the character and aptitude for service in the 75th Ranger Regiment will earn the tan beret and follow on to a Ranger Battalion.
RASP 1 is simple. RASP 1 serves as the venue where the 75th Ranger Regiment enables individuals to see their own potential and bring it forth for the betterment of the team, the Army, and the Nation. While RASP 1 may be simple, it is far from easy, it serves as a job interview, indoctrination, and pivotal inflection point for all who attend.
Follow along as we deliver never before seen insights into the RASP 1 process.
This is the standard. RLTW.

I am extremely proud to see just how professional and mission directed RASP 1 has evolved into. The one thing that has not changed is the type of individual that is required to dawn a tan beret at the end of it. Cheers to the ones that came before and the studs still doing it. Good luck to those willing to take accept the challenge. RLTW!

RASP Class 02-16 here, insane to see how much RASP has changed in just a few short years. The new program looks like it prepares young Rangers much better for life in Regiment; especially the changes to Pre-RASP; Pre-RASP for me was just sitting on the rocks and reading our Ranger history booklets and that’s about it 😂

22 years in the Army, 17 years of that supporting Special Operations as a 31C/31W/25W4S5WF7. My only "regret"/question has always been, "what would my career have been like if I had been able to attend RIP in the spring of 1990?" (after jump school). At the time, Regiment was full up of 31Cs and didn't need any more. Don't let this happen to you....don't take NO for an answer. If there is a school/unit/training/duty station that you want, do whatever it takes to get it. You don't want to ever look back on your career and ask, "What If?"

Nah 23-24 ain’t old for Batt. You’ll be fine in that department. College football isn’t even remotely close. Being physically fit in the military is very different than it is for sports. What’s going to happen is you need to sign an Op. 40. You’ll kiss your friends and family goodbye, and it’s going to be an exhausting emotional rollercoaster from that point on. You’ll get to 30th AG if you’re doing infantry and be in that shithole for 7-30 days. Then you’ll start OSUT, which is its own battle. Graduate, go home for a couple of days, realize you’ve already made the change and report to the Ranger compound. Then it’s all on you.

@@1anre Thank you for your comment. If you're suggesting that certain military careers are limited in their potential, I have to disagree. In the U.S. military, career paths can be incredibly diverse and dynamic, regardless of the branch or security clearance. I've seen individuals transition between Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) and units, constantly adapting and facing real threats. Both armored and cyber roles are crucial to modern warfare. Cyber operations, in particular, play a vital role in special operations today. Many service members have successfully transitioned into cyber security roles and contributed significantly to our defense capabilities. Depends. There may be a dream sheet to fill out. There may be a form of competition with a reward being to select your batt. Juniors can be thrown anyway vs SGT and above has to be placed where they can get the most career potential
