76 highboy body swap first fire up and drive! (+ the one and only way to bleed brakes by yourself)

This is it for the 1976 ford highboy body swap, finishing up the wiring and plumbing, bleeding the brakes, getting it fired up and taking it on its first drive since the start of the project. This was a fun project, and swapping a 2wd body onto the highboy chassis went quite well. Thanks for following along!

When I heard that engine roar I said, "SOB". You did all of this and it was in a driveway, working under God Awful conditions and came out Shining. I just shake my head and say "Congratulations".Then I remember your just a few years younger than I am. That Youthfulness will make you conquer all your challenges. AWESOME.

Getting those body lines right is feat all by itself! I've seen a lot that was hell trying to line up, especially if there was an accident in the truck's life.

Great job !. One trick I use is to keep the bottle higher than the wheel cylinder / caliper. it helps keep the trapped air from going back into them. Or a check valve which can do the same job. Hope this may be of help. As always liked and shared. All my best.

We are finishing up a 67 highway swap project as well. We bought a 67 highway for $250 at our local junkyard. Then got a free 1970 f250 camper special 2 wheel drive. The 70 is really rust free, but the besides were broke out and floppy. Found at decent box for sale in Minnesota. We are doing body work on the box right now.

Thank you very much! The red and grey highboy was for a friend of mine, but it’s not his daily driver. And the black 67 highboy that I just did a few weeks ago was for another friends wife, and I believe she’s been using that one as her daily!

Them dodge trucks are tough as nails. And they had awesome muscle cars back in the day. I'm 53 years old. I've seen some power house Mopar cars in my day lol
