Love watching someone work who knows what they are doing. I would try this and go through a high pressure water line, cut through live wire and trip the circuit breakers, cut a hole in completely the wrong spot and drop the screws down the wall cavity :-)
I picked one of these up, based on your feedback across a few of your videos. My wife wanted the Samsung Frame, but I decided to spend a few bucks more and get the better TV and not have to worry about the One Box. Thanks. Your content is great!
Amazing video and the G2 at 77 inches is amazing as well. I never thought about about a 77 inch because 65 was a great size. A 77 inch G series just hits different. The QD-OLEDs are great but a 77 inch OLEDs really changes the game for me.
I know it's been a year or so but I just bought from best buy the lg c2 65 inch for 930 bucks ! I think it was a display unit but there's no scratches or burn in but now I just seen they have a 77 g2 gallery edition for 1800 and I'm really tempted in trading but idk
Sorry, 22:39. Unfortunately, the TV does not hang flat on the wall because the box for the cables protrudes from the wall and the cables are also not neatly laid. I suspect that this was agreed with the owner, but unfortunately it does not look nice that way.
Already have the 77 inches. Going to get the 83 inches for my son. Watching in 4k is amazing. and movies look like you're the producer of the film. You will never want to look at tv the old way. This tv in mind blowing.
If I ever get around to turning that extra room into a home theater. I think this size oled will do. My current oled have completely turned me off to the idea of projectors.
I guess it's cool to wall mount but never understood it when you have a wide enough stand right below it. You're able to swivel and adjust angles and easily move the tv around when it's on a stand compared to being on the wall.
@@cooldaddyslick6869 There are mounts where you can pull the tv out and rotate it by 90*. ..for what ever reason somebody would do that. But these things exist.
It took a while to decide between the 77” G1 and G2. I ended up grabbing the G1, mostly due to the shipping estimates for the G2. I did a flush mount install, and went with the larger Legrand recessed box, installed the additional power kit and was able to route everything into the box. Have an additional routing box below to run HDMI from my media console, and crazily enough I routed a fiber optic HDMI 2.1 cable (80 ft) into the top of the recessed box from my office, which houses my gaming PC. I couldn’t be happier with not just the TV, but the entire setup. To be fair, I only regret not waiting for the G2 when I’m not sitting in front of the G1. When that TV is on it’s absolutely gorgeous. I have an A80J in the bedroom as well, and while I do love the processing on the Sony TVs, that 77” LG blows me away every time. Awesome video again, my friend. It’s fun seeing you and your wife do videos together. My fiancé always helps me do my installs (I’m not a professional installer, just enjoy doing my own installs and have gotten fairly competent at it); it’s always fun getting her involved and she enjoys sitting down to watch some movies after we’re done, feeling more connected to the entire experience. Keep it up brotha!
@@AndreaETessy I don't use BFI often; only occasionally when playing retro titles, so it wasn't a big factor for me, but the G2 going to 60hz was a massive downgrade in my opinion.
Great video...and nice job on the install. I have the 83" G2 and have the same feeling as you do about this tv.... I enjoyed your install portion using the unique wall mount that LG provides. I have set up my picture very similar to the settings you suggested and really enjoy the brightness...and the way blacks come across so vivid and true black. Thanks for sharing and doing a great job with the video.
Do you get random pixels flashing on the screen at all? This is my first oled TV and I'm not sure if this is normal or not? I just got my lg g2 77 today and have so many issues I'm noticing. Random horizontal lines appear for a split second... stuff you see in pc monitors and gfx card glitches cases artefacts... cab you pls confirm you have any of these at all?
Went into best buy for a g2 and walked out ordering the c2. I need a mount that can swivel and pull out based on where my bed is in my room. I'm not too worried because the panel between the c2 and g2 are the same. I'm just missing out on the gallery look and the fact the g2 gets a bit brighter. I don't think the difference in brightness is substantial though. They'll be getting it here on the 10th I'm pretty excited
I’d go G2 as well and 100% wall mount with all cables in wall. I can’t do stand mounted TV’s anymore. I need room for my center channel on my stand directly under the tv and the rest of my components under that so I’d also mount the C2 or any other tv
One of the best videos I’ve seen. Love the detail on the installation especially with the wall mount that comes with the TV to get a flat look. Thank you for the amazing video as it’s really appreciated!!
All 4 TVs in my house are wall mounted. I hate stands. I want one of these for my theater room rather than a projector and screen. I have a 65" C1 in my living room and I am hooked on OLED.
I just ordered the 83” G2.. i know SES just showed G3 but i doubt there is a significant enough difference to wait another 4 or 5 months for that one to arrive and pay probably a premium.. mine arrives tomorrow so we shall see! GREAT install video BTW, love your content, i learn a lot!
Wow ! Astonishing ! But I'm still looking for a mint 3D 77G6V 2016 Series... Please let me know if I could buy one somewhere ...Thanks .... Happy owner of a 65E6V...
Great work, I'm guessing that it was the client that asked for the tv to be mounted slightly offset compared to the console? It would personally drive my crazy as that console has a center foot so its imediately obvious.
The LG G2 looks nice and Has a gallery design to look like a picture frame. That was a clean setup you did for the LG. Excellent work. But there was some test I know you did not have a chance to try out. Movies on the web are good, but they won't show the full potential as a blu ray or 4K disc. The speed, resolution, and the dirty effect it may have. We know how you love to show the game look on the TV too. I believe for me the Sony A95J is the dream TV I need. But have to wait until next year for a big size in the 70 range to come out. Looking forward to the next show.
I have always mounted my tvs on the wall. I'm pretty mechanically inclined so for me it was easy, this includes my 85 inch. I did have help lifting it onto the stand.
Mount doesn't seem to give much leeway if you are trying to center in the middle of a wall. If you fall between stud at center this doesn't seem to be wide enough to catch both studs. Not sure if you covered this in your video
Just bought one. With the G3 coming out I was able to get a G2 at 40% off which was funny as they had the 65 inch at nearly the same price as the 77 inch I picked up. Sadly I bought it for a house we are building that won't be ready for 2 months so it will be in its box until then.
looks super easy, even too easy ahahah... only thing is... you should move the power plug like in the video behind the TV because in some states is illegal passing the power cable behind dry wall... but if you collect all the remaining cable and push into the hole the all thing is pointless, was just easier make 2 small holes and pass the power cable inside and connect to the main plug
I can install it no problem. I have installed two full motion mounts on my wall so far as my sets and funds got better. My latest set is a Sony 75 Z9K and it was a beast to get sat onto the latest 132lb capability mount I added a few years ago to be able to take my last 65 825 TCL and whatever I might upgrade to later. Should have moved more stuff out of the way and a third person would have been nice but it survived and so did we barely. Those oled sets are a lot lighter for their sizes I think compared to the monster led sets in the upper end of the tech. I need to do the cable boxes and management on my wall someday but still playing with the cables and getting everything worked out so I don't have to change things right away.
I Just had this delivered and installed as well as the samsung q990b. So far so good. Love how snappy the tv is (replaced a 2021 65 C1 and JBL 9.1 soundbar) *moved those to bedroom
Hi. Is there a reason you didn't just run the power cable same as you ran the Hdmi cable? And skip a very difficult step of setting up a whole power box? I'm doing this soon and I'm just curious. Thanks
Your videos are so enjoyable. You have one of the best personalities of the guys that do these reviews. There's always so much joy on your face when you're unboxing and hanging. Keep them coming!
That’s one amazing tv!! It’s such a hard decision to get this tv or wait for 77” QD OLED? Part of me says pull the trigger and the other part of me says wait bro!! Your gonna regret not waiting. 🤷🏽♂️
my current "struggle". though I Think I'm gonna cop the LG 83". this way I won't Really be tempted by the qd-oleds until they get that big & hopefully implement MLA tech & their prices aren't as exorbitant, which Should take years 🤞🏾 lol
Hi! Great video! Have a question though: Did you plan any of the screws (how many?) in the stud? My wall has a stud in the dead center of it (where I want the TV to be) and the other ones to the sides are each 17.5" away from the center. I'm not sure if the 1/2" drywall has the strength to hold a 65" G2 on the wall on its own. Can you give me tips to install it safely? Thank you!
I got this TV thinking the Art Gallery "feature" still superimposed frames onto the art, which for some inexplicable reason is no longer the case (at least on the G2). So LG still calling this a "Gallery Edition" is false advertising in my opinion. It's just a flush mountable TV that runs the LG Art Gallery app like most of the newer LGs do. Nothing about its design makes me think I'm looking at real art when it's running the Art Gallery app....it really makes no sense why they took the frames away 🤦♂️
I would get the Sony and put the rest of my money in my savings. Shouldn't no tv cost more than a used car. The Sony has beautiful picture quality, specially hdr.
Wow! Great work, i was told that getting a box like that (for the power and hdmi runs) would make the tv stick out because it has a lip. Doesn’t look like the case! Thanks!
@@cooldaddyslick6869 Angling it down for most users will be a non option since many want the flush wall looking. so the solution is to lower it to eye level to maintain the picture frame look alike.
@@mikesalz will you place it on drywall or concrete? if its dry wall, its simple. after drilling your square hole... scrap off the edges of the square hole around 0.5cm to 1cm deep on the drywall. This is where youll screw your cable box. That means your cable box will be deep inside the wall. Also its worth to note the cable holders on G2 are very flexible and easily come off. so either use very thin HDMI cables which are not easy to find or place your cable box right where the I/O are placed.
I am looking to upgrade to this TV and retire my 65" LG C9 to another room. Not really a wall mount person though as i like to plug and unplug stuff to my hearts content. I have a solid stand i got from Amazon that is swivel and height adjustable that has a 65" Sony LCD TV on it right now. I think i'll be able to swap out the Sony for the G2 pretty easy.
I just got my g2 77 inch. Unfortunately it looks like LG shipped me a returned tv which had 44 hours usage already. Box was open and the back of the TV was dirty including the power cable. Worse thing is I see so many random pixels flashing different lights and very noticeable when in dark scene. Also random horizontal lines appear from time to time. This doesn't sound like normal does it? It's supposed to be a brand new TV.... but they sent me a dud!
Did you run into any issues with the studs in your wall? I’m going to mount this TV soon but everyone’s warning me that if I don’t have perfect 16” studs I cannot mount this 😢
Love this TV. I have the 77” A9G and love it but thinking of updating to the 83” G2. I want to go bigger and love how close to the wall the G2 sits to the wall. As gorgeous as they are the Sony A95k and the Samsung S95B only come in 55” and 65” so right now those aren’t big enough for my living room
Bro we use to have little square tv's and now you saying 65" tv isn't big enough, its freaking huge! I just think are eyes get use to a size, any size will become small over time haha.
@@jondavies5393 I’m not saying 55” and 65” TVs are not big in general. I’m saying I myself couldn’t go back down to a 55” or 65” tv due to the The size of My living room, and just like you said, my eyes are use to watching a 77” tv from the distance I am viewing.
@@jondavies5393 oh and believe me I use to have a 19” tv in my room as a kid so I remember how small TVs were. Not to mention only 5 channels and No remote. 😂😂. I guess that’s why I played sports and went out every day from the moment I finished my homework till the moment the street lights went on. Lol.
Had a Samsung 75” and 50” that only lasted 4years 2018, both panels died within a week of each other, got a 77” and a 55” LG’s to replace. We’ll see how these last. Beautiful pictures!
The G2 is an EXCELLENT TV, but the C2 is very close in terms of picture quality and, the 77" C2 costs $800 less than the G2. Because of that price difference (and my preference for stand-mounting the TV rather than installing it on the wall) I'd probably opt for the C2 and save myself some cash. The G2 is a superb choice if you've got the wall space and the money.
Good video, thanks mate, I would not have a clue how to mount a TV that size, about to buy a 48 inch for my flat, but will employ some to fit it after watching your video
Great video. Going to be a bit harder to install one here since my walls are armored concrete (pretty much the Dutch standard). I'm not a big fan of the US cardboard walls, especially not in our climate, but it sure makes installing this TV a lot easier :) Edit: not going for 77 inch, I think. We're at 48 inch now so 55 inch is pretty good. I might go to 60 but unlikely to go to 77.
Nice video! Thank you! I just purchased my LG OLED 83" and plan on wall mounting it. Question: I have a recessed plug. I also have an in-wall for network cable/HDMI that runs through a conduit to another location. I noticed that you used a monoprice recessed outlet box + low voltage unit installed in the lower half of the TV. Is there enough of a gap for the power cable and HDMI to go from the top half then down into the inputs? If not where exactly did you measure for your recessed box, because I will have to splice and do something somewhat similar?
