As a calibrator may I suggest you NEVER use Contrast Enhancement when evaluating a television. Why? In SDR you’re completely altering the Gamma. Programs are mastered in either 2.2 to 2.4 In HDR you’re altering the PQEOTF. In either case you’re altering dramatically the image from the creators intent. Specifying the image looks odd while setting Contrast Enhancement to on is par for the course. It will enhance higher lumen content while crushing detail in dark scenes. It’s a kin to setting an equalizer for super high treble while lowering the bass. Also I really would recommend learning how to calibrate a televisions White Balance. Depending upon the Picture Mode you’re in it often over emphasizes Blue and gives the image a very cool two dimensional appearance, again rendering an image very different than the creators intent. Calibration when done right will not sacrifice brightness and will give you a much more realistic image to critique. Annnd who wouldn’t want that ☺️ Hope this helps. In other news your reviews are entertaining. Thank you ☺️

What a nice video guys. Loved Caesar and Jen participating more in the video. I thought 🤔 well it looked like Jen hurt her neck when she rolled onto the couch. 😲
Love that you have your dog and fam making guest appearances. Makes your videos even more fun and relatable. And hilarious surprise and couch summersault. Obvious you guys are having fun. I think Sansung may be charging waaaay to much for their AI enhancement on this year's models. I'm lifelong put their pricing to performance ratio is no longer attractive vs competition. Love and thanks for the review!!! ❤️🍻👊🏽
Really good review Brandon & Jen. I'm wondering whether you test apps like RU-vid TV using the onboard app or with an external streaming device? It's been my experience that streaming quality is better when using an external device. Maybe that's no longer the case in 2024. Also, and it's likely you know this... the QN90D line is not Samsung's 4K QLED flagship. That's the QN95D however it only goes up to 85 inches. I'd be curious to see how it compares to the gargantuan 98" you just reviewed. How was the sound quality on the QN90D? Thanks again for a great review. It's a pleasure to watch you guys do your thing.
Put it on Dynamic and as far as picture quality u will get the most out of the picture. Mix that with the high setting I promise u won't be disappointed
@@BTheInstaller- I think he meant it as a compliment, like she’s tough and she works hard. You don’t have to say she’s beautiful because that goes without saying.

Some reviewers like Andrew Robinson noticed serious issues concerning scaling and picture processing with the 98" QN90D. I recommend staying away from this model until the issues have been addressed. If at all of course.
I love your videos Brandon! You explain the set ups of these TVs so I well that I feel like I could do it myself and I could be the installer. …… Ohhhhhhhh
This review is a winner as you did a fair review on this overpriced TV and great comparison on competing models. For those of already own 85" tv, and are now looking to go bigger, you sir are THE source to rely on. Thanks, Brian.
Y'all got money money that's a 98 screen TV yeah big Ballin God bless you I know you're going to have a good Thanksgiving this year and a good things Christmas yes y'all going to do it up
My friend owns this TV and find the lighting zone transitioning is a bit off, there is blooming but not too bad, DVD upscaling/smoothing is not very good, HDR gradient is not very good, lots of stuttering during fast action movies, the smart interface has plenty of ads and I do notice some vignetting.
I also forgot to mention the stand is secure but if you brush the TV it will wobble. My other friend was bringing in a bowl of popcorn to watch the movie and just lightly brushed the edge of the TV and it began to wobble. I've never seen my other friend move so fast to stop the TV from wobbling. My friend paid nearly 23 grand Canadian for the TV and it is also on sale right now at Visions Electronics for $14,999 plus tax.
I just bought an LG 97" OLED G2 (tomorrow installation) for the same price, about $11400.. This review makes my deal a real steeeeeel..!! Thanks, B. ❤ your channel..
Sounds like to many flaws in this tv for this hi price. From the tone in your voice it sounds like you were expecting more. Didn’t see side views of this tv. If it’s me a big NO.
Me...I'd only buy 85in+ for 4k, so I don't expect it to perform miracles upscaling 720p sports. 85+ is about immersion, and this tv has huge HDR impact because of brightness and size. That said, it sounds way overpriced.

Great video as always. Mini LED still has a bit to go before I’d consider it over Oled. As soon as I see one I immediately spot the fall in contrast and colour from off angle. As well as the backlight tricks it uses to deal with possible blooming. Love that enormous glossy black screen though. Also, holy good god, Jen in this video 🔥🔥🔥 … B looks good too 😜
I have and 86" . It looked so big for about a year now it looks like a 65". It like when 32" was the thing then 42" came out and so on so when does it stop
Cheaper Sony bravia 7 upscaling and smoothing is better ,, it's just as bright and cheaper and color is more accurate ,,, motion is better ,, noise reduction better
I looked at the Samsung, but Sony put the 98” X90L on sale in July for $5K, so I went for it. Great picture with the usual superior Sony video processing. Since standards change a lot every few years, it’s better in my opinion to spend $5K now vs $13K so your not so all-in on an item you may want to upgrade in a few years.
good video, just a favor could you try the following video "4K HDR Fireworks Sony Oled TV Demo" on RU-vid with the local attenuation on high and see the blooming that it presents a lot or a little, because mine presents a lot in this specific video and in subtitles in general.
I would rather buy an 86-inch OLED at $1500- $2000. At 98" imo just get a home theater. It would be cheaper. Also, after using OLEDs, LED TVs are just not good enough.
I would agree that I would rather have an OLED than anything else, but I wanna know where you’re finding an 86 inch OLED for 1500 to 2000 because Ima go there!
Bro I had to return my 100 inch Hisense cuz of shipping damage and Best Buy was tryna spin me some bs that I wouldn’t be able to get an exchange for 6 weeks unless I brought it in myself, so me and my buddy put it back in box and hauled it away and it was shitty, 152lbs. Wasn’t the issue really cuz we have lifted 300lbs+ which is was wayyyyyy worse, it was the size of the thing and the weight spread across the entire item that made it so cumbersome
Let's be honest, 50% of us didn't click on the video because we care about the TV. We know, and they know it. Otherwise she wouldn't be in the thumbnail, would wear long clothes... etc. But we all clicked. 🤷♂️
I will buy a TCL 98'' QLED TV for my PS5. The price is reasonable, this TV is $10,000, 5 times more expensive than my TV. I will invite a few friends, it cannot be alone, it is too heavy. I will buy a box of beer and have a barbecue.👍👍
