Do it with the SR+!!! As you noted with your road trips with Wifey, those trips with her are more “real world.” Traveling on your own is more Iron Butt marathons. Base autopilot is free but that didnt have Navigate on autopilot / Autopark / auto lane change etc. The basic AP is just lane keep assist with ACC and at least on the german model 3 website has always been that way since 2019. (back then it was base AP or FSD package and nothing in between)

@@hanspetter9466 Then something has been off before. Was playing around with the condigurator last week and Enhanced Autopilot was not selectable as an option but was listed in the "kitlist" of the car.

@@virtualmartijn No, it wasn’t included. Enhanced AP wasn’t an option, so they added a "middle level". Only AP was included.

I got 241 kW briefly at the supercharger in Uddevalla yesterday (the one closest to chop chop)in my t3LR with 82kwh, but it says it should only be a 150 kW charger according to Tesla.

You definitely should do that with the 2021 Long Range with LG Batteries. How does the charging affect the road trip ability compared to the panasonic batteries? They still sell LG powered Long Range Model 3. People should know.

@@fladric sure has, but he concluded Tesla would improve charging. And it has not. All LG owners have to spend way more time at SCs than other Model 3 owners.

Supercharger rules, more car companies should do what Tesla does, build a great charging network for their cars. If they all do that, we will have abundant amount of chargers everywhere.

Yes, the Tesla cars and supercharger network, go hand-in-hand…they’re like one entity. If an extra second off the 0-60 times, and driving super long distances without charging facility, in extreme temperatures, isn’t a consideration, the SR+ does it all…from experience. Cheap as chips to run.

Maybe its because of the "flaps" under the hood? You could check it, in the 2021 Models are those little flaps at the frunk, maybe they made the 2021 Model 3 more quiet?

Audi has invested in Ionity which is a very good charging network. The only problem is that it has not extended far enough in some areas of Europe.

I wish you had a standard long distance 130km/h test too. That's how I judge cars personally. (I've an e-Niro and I wish it had a 500km winter motorway range - it's very far from it)

One method to save energy on camp mode is to set the AC manual fan speed one. I have a video on my channel proving that you can save a lot of energy doing as described.

e-tron GT would have to take a 6 minute detour to top up at Elverum since the next Ionity is at Klett. Topping up at 150 kW is a disadvantage for e-tron GT. So even though it would save 10 minutes, it loses 6 minutes plus the semi-slow charging at Elverum. So by the end of the day, e-tron GT might not save much time at all.

This is normal and actually shows how impressive E-tron GT is. 500 kg weights more , 100 km less range , 21 " wheels Vs 18 " model 3 , no Tesla superchargers and after all of this only 15 minutes difference (if E-tron GT took the shortcut to) so yeah. Model 3 is very impressive , but this must be taken into account.

Nope, e-tron GT would have to take a 6 minute detour to top up at Elverum. That car can't do the same distance to Klett without topping up. And there's no HPC on that route if you skip Alvdal. So e-tron GT might save 10 minutes but have to waste 6 minutes plus charge not so optimal (semi-high SoC).

Why do you call it “vee”-LTP (VLTP) instead of “double-you”-LTP (WLTP)? I know there’s some funny fails with non-native English pronunciations, not quite as funny as when someone calls the letter i “ee” (E) instead of “aye” (I).
