Thanks for an honest and comprehensive review. My 2020 76 Wagon has DPF. Can’t really do an exhaust mod to improve performance and the sound without breaking laws and voiding my warranty:( These trucks certainly grow on you.
No worries mate 100% I love mine have considered selling it but there isn't another 4wd I want but they are super expensive at times! You can still get a decent note from a DPF back exhaust, better than stock at least 😜
Hey mate nice vid. I am a truckie too, and I seriously think some trucks do turn much better than a 79. The first mods I did to the car (ie within 100km on the clock) are catch can, prefilter and a throttle controller with anti theft mode. I had a 2019 model, graphite GXL, stolen within 2 months. So, better to be safe than sorry, and as much as you love yours, I do love mine too, and I will recommend the throttle controller to you because your 79 is your daily and only.
Hang the number plate with an upwards swinging hinge from the outer edge of the tray, right above the spare tyre. That way you can still get the spare out.
Suggest you change the spare if they are the Dunlops it came with, I had them as spares, plenty of tread but they delaminated in less than 200km when I blew a good tyre. When it's 41 degrees and you have to change 2 tyres it's a pain.
Great job mate. I have one on order. Appreciate your insights. One question do you have the factory suspension and is it ok? I was talked into an OME suspension kit from ARB. Any thoughts?
I rang toyota the other day and they've told me I have to wait 12 months until they may release information about when thr order book will re open. Nobody knows if you will ever be able to buy one again in its current form. I have my money on a new 70 series with extra safety to satisfy ANCAP and it will be 100k
Yeah the market is crazy right now which is why I felt a long term review would be more relevant as more people are having to buy 2nd hand! Best of luck with your purchase I hope you love it as much as I do 😊
Toyota really need to listen to its customers and what needs changing for all future models of this vehicle... They will always sell them but listen to its customers
It would certainly help but it would also possibly increase the price of the ute even more and when the bulk of sales goes to the mines its probably not really worth it to them 🤷
Im not to sure mate, personally I would go the 79 over the patrol because of the solid axles front and rear and for the parts availability but the y62 is a solid car in its own right from what I have seen. To each their own I think it depends what your going to use it for.
@@undecided125 I don't know what to say I like them both (LC79 and y61) even though I'll choose both of them. Here in my country the y61 is still present with a 4.8 engine. Also the LC79 is a beast but I'll choose a petrol engine over a diesel engine (even the diesel price is still cheap compared to petrol price) but why petrol over diesel I don't know 😂 probably because more horsepower or the common engine to use here in my country
