This is the installation of our 7CP01 motorcycle Cruise Control. If you have any questions feel free to call us at (503) 372-9346, or email us at customerservice@brakeawayproducts.com
Excellent instruction. Very helpful that you explained the function of each adjustment, instead of saying -- just do it this way. Know the reason behind each adjustment greatly increases it being done correctly by the customer. Thank you.
Truly an excellent installation video! The guy who did this explains everything perfectly without a lot of banter commonly found on RU-vid videos. Easy installation, phenomenal product, thank you!
There is another video recommended by Google where the installer has red hair - he does the bare bones installation. THIS video TRULY is the master of all installation videos I've seen. The bottom line is, the most important thing to be able to do - other than to install it - is to adjust it properly, expertly, and adequately. People who follow this video will do just that. I have the 7CP O1 and will use this video to install it, pausing at each and every step while I become both student and expert installer. The mechanic in this video is second-to-none. EXCELLENT VIDEO! USE NO OTHER!
Excellent tutorial. I installed the 7CP02 in 15 minutes on a 2015 Honda Shadow Aero 750 after watching this video, and never needed to look at the instruction sheet that came with the unit. Very few adjustments were needed. Thanks!
Followed you video to install the BrakeAway on my 2014 Honda Valkyrie. Everthing went perfect. Thanks for the great video. Better than trying to use the included instructions that came with the unit. Two thumbs up!
This is the most comprehensive instructional video on you tube. Straight forward well enunciated easy to understand and no Hollywood blathering! And an excellent product I had one on my Motto Guzzi.
Incredibly informative and easy to follow video! With the help of this tutorial everything worked perfectly the first time without repeating any steps. Thanks for your presentation as it couldn't be better.
Awesome video! Followed along while installing on my vtx 1300s. These fit my Kuryakyn ISO grips using the thinnest rubber strip inside the ring, and some dish soap to help slide it over the rubber humps of the grip. I didn’t even bother opening the instructions that came with these as this video explained everything perfectly! Awesome product!!!
Masterfully presented. It was very helpful when installing mine. Only issue I had was that my Kuryakyn Kinetic grips have a swell midway...then it tapers down again. I found it best -though not easiest, to slide the ring on without the rubber strip...then fit the proper-sized rubber strip when the grip was near where it was going to be. I took patience, but was doable. It settled in quite nicely, after I was sure that the strip was properly seated in the grip ring. If I still had my OEM grips on there, then I could have fit the strep as outlined in the presentation. Well done!!
An absolute brilliant instructional video kudos to the presenter/installer. I installed my Brakeaway Cruise Control in under 15 minutes using this video and did not need to look at the written installation notes once during my install. It works perfectly on my V-Star 1100 with Avon Air Cushion Grips
Just installed on my 2007 1300. After trying some cheaper types decided to try a BrakeAway. Took a test ride yesterday and was pleased with this throttle lock. Well worth the price in my opinion. Stays lock even on bumpy roads.
Roger Stewart is your bike an FJR1300? The reason I ask is that is the bike I have. On their website they mention this cruise control cannot be used with heated grips. That is what I have on my 2007 FJR1300. I don’t see why it cannot be installed on my bike. Any input would be appreciated.
It usually has to do with the position of the orientation line. As described in section 4.D of the instructions, you will need to rotate the orientation line on the rod clockwise (toward the back of the bike) which will move the clamp back a little. This will free up some movement in the push button. The unit should then engage normally. If that doesn't do it, then the clamp tension is probably set too tight. See section 5 for clamp tension adjustment.
Do you have a Break Away Cruise Control setup that will work with a 2022 Triumph Trident 660? Or, will any of your existing models work with the Trident?
I've been looking for this exact sort of thing for months now. Do you ship internationally? I live in England. Also Would I manage to install this kit using metric tools? I am sure that there are still specialist companies here who sell tools in inches. But if I had to buy a kit (not like they would sell an individual tool). Then this would cost me a fair bit. Your product looks excellent and a great install video (I've watched another on your kit as well).
I have buy this trottle lock for my motorcycle. I have 22mm gas hendle. i have the rings but they not clamp the trottle. I need this rubbers, where can i buy this?
Jim, We're not sure what you mean by WILL NOT WORK! The BrakeAway works just fine with the O.E.M. adjustable brake levers. The only drawback is if you change the brave lever position you need to move our brake release cam as well. Other than that, the brake release mechanism works the same as with any non adjustable lever. I am sorry that you were experiencing problems but am confident that with a phone call our tech support could have helped resolve any issues you were having. Please call (503) 372-9346 if you would like help in getting your brake release arm safety feature replaced and working properly.
Really like it , but how can anyone justify spending$180.00 for it, I mean come on about $5.00 for materials. some are around$35.00, or little more, but this is over 4 times the cost of them. I like buying quality and paying little bit more, but, 4 times more ,not so sure
Decent video....clean instructions, however I would indicate that this product is not really a 'cruise control' system, but more so just a 'throttle lock'.
READ THIS IF YOU HAVE A HONDA SHADOW DO NOT do the first step in this video. Loosen your brake master cylinder and slide it over. DO NOT loosen your cable assembly. You will not get it to go back together properly ever again and spend the next 8 hours trying to get it to go back together. BULLSHIT!
You failed to do what he shows in the video - he does NOT loosen any cable assembly. He loosens the brake master cylinder and slides it over as you suggest. Watch it again.
