After 23 years of storytelling, the 7de Laan community of actors and its entire crew will be saying goodbye to the Mzansi audiences. The long-running SABC television soapie, which made its debut on SABC 2 in April 2000, will not be recommissioned for another season.
After 24 seasons of a TV series that focused on the lives of residents in and around the community of 7de Laan in the suburb of Hillside, 7de Laan will be airing its final episode on the 26th of December. The show brought to life much-loved characters such as Oubaas, Hilda, Charmaine, Aggie, Emma, and the Meintjies family, who all became household names. We are now joined by two of the actors, Ingrid Paulus - who plays Vanessa Mentjies - and Zak Hendrikz - who portrays Werner Visagie - as well SABC General Manager of Video Entertainment Platforms David Makubyane.
