Those IEMs are awesome but they are not so good for gaming as you described (bought it becouse of this review), atleast not for competetive FPS games, ok they have nice direction detail and scene but in same time they kinda lack of distance imaging. For example when you see enemy around 10m away it sound like he is 7m away. Still as I mentioned direction detail is great to the point that if I hear something I can turn 180 and shoot him straight in head ,but if there is for example box, space, box, space, I cant realy say behind which box is enemy while in something like Monolith M350 is not a problem at all.
@@JanusM interesting..I didn't have that problem at all. Make sure the fit is right and insertion depth is good ..I find that did make a difference for me..but maybe your experience is just different.
@@imwhatsnew I will try them later again with foam tips but it can also be foult that my ears go used to M350 so much that it interfere with my perspective, but still even now they do sound realy good especially when we consider their price.
@@imwhatsnew Ok i have to admit I am changing my mind now, Dekoni Foam Tips (bulletz true wireless) doing job and giving proper seal and negating that distance foult. But those tips cost almost as much as those IEMs :) So those IEMs are awesome but you need completly diferent tips to have proper seal.
Even if it was a little worse than the Chu, the removable cable is enough of a value that I would get one anyway. With the better sound, it's the new budget king.
I ordered mine yesterday, can’t wait for them to turn up. Your reviews just made the wait all the harder And I agree with the other commenters - you’re a great reviewer/host/entertainer or whatever you want to call it. There’s nothing worse than someone who tries wayyy too hard You’re a natural though and can hold attention easily, I actually enjoyed watching this video rather than endured it like I do with so many lol. Much respect
It’s brilliant. I was actually just comparing them back and forth last night between my other headphones including my ATH MSR7B, which is probably the best comparison because they’re a closed back headphone and obviously these 7hz are earphones. So both isolate your ears My ATH cost £180 and they no way sound 10x better. They’re very close actually. The 7hz are really well tuned so musics just really easy and fun to listen to. They’re maybe just slightly too sharp at times for my liking, I was trying them out with some games and they can get a tiny bit shrill at times. But you can always just turn the volume down a notch to take the edge off If I hadn’t known the 7hz cost £17/$20 (and how good value these recent IEMs are) I’d have guessed they were priced at something like $80 easily
What a great review and video. Really nice to find a utube reviewer with great delivery and personality! I’m a old guy with old ears and most definitely not a bass head. Just starting to use iems to have new “toys” and you sold me on these. Many thanks and look forward to watching more of your content
I just picked one up open box from an audio shop for 70 rmb... The owner wanted to try it and just flipped it to me for a discount. 70rmb is $10 btw...
I've had these a few weeks now and really like them. They sound good, separation and clarity, and very comfortable for me. I prefer my 7hz Timeless, perhaps no surprise given that those planar IEMs cost nearly 10x the price. However, something did surprise me. I bought some sennheheiser cx80s IEMs with a mic several weeks ago for a similar price. The 7hz Zero has tighter separation and is more clinical. However, I found I kept switching back to the sennheiser cx80s for enjoyment. Yes they're warmer, they don't have the same clinical separation as the Zero. But listening to some relaxing vocals (Carpenters) the cx80s using LG v60 ESS Sabre quad dac phone, the cx80s is more relaxing compared to the 7hz Zero which sounds at times thin and sharp. Though at this price it's easy to have both!
Oh really? I ordered coming soon, i like also vocals of Whitney Houston karen carpenters david pomeranz Tiffany and at the same time Metallica pantera eagles
What a great and pleasing review. Just ordered Salnotes Zero and I can't wait to hear it. I've tried things like OG Moondrop Aria and iBasso IT00 so yeah I'm excited with this one.
@@hydemir11 Based on my experience and memory, for me, tonal balance is the best on Zero so far. The resolution, detail retrieval, and technicalities, I'm pretty sure are still better on IT00 and especially on Aria 2021 (I mean those two are 4-5 times the price of the Zero). But I must say for a 20 dollar IEM, this one is really impressive.
I went through 2 sets of the Chus before switching to these. Chus QC is just impossible, both pairs died within 3 weeks. Went for these after seeing them on Reddit and I'm glad I did. These are so much nicer than the Chus.
after my moondrop chui cable broke i decided to try the zero and i prefer it. thanks for the recommendation especially its detachable i can swap the cable anytime it breaks.
Been watching a few of your videos, and I've been really enjoying your presentation style. You've got a new sub. Not really that interested in the 7Hz Zero, as I already have the ER2SE as a neutral monitor, and I have the Blon 03 as a cheap daily beater set, but I'm glad to see there are so many good budget options for IEMs these days.
I have ER2XR and Blon Bl03. ER2XR sound so quite. I have to increase volume to almost Max 90% to 100%. But for Blon Bl03 ...50% volume is okay. I use BTR3k or a normal type C to 3.5mm connector. Do you have same issue to ER2SE? What setup you use for ER2?
@@ashwani14august I just use the apple dongle with my phone or laptop. The ER2 does require some power since it's a bit insensitive relative to other iems. Running it with an apple dongle off my phone I'm about the same as you, needing 90-100% volume to get to a decent listening level. I don't really have any special setup or more powerful amplification, so I just tend to use the ER2 more with my laptop since it provides more than enough power to drive it, whereas the Blon sees more use when I'm on my phone because it doesn't need much power.
Mine has arrived and I've been using Zero for nearly 3 days straight and I must say I'm impressed by the sound quality. The sound is just really balanced and never feels lacking in any area for me. The bass is also enough in quantity while being punchy and fast when it's asked for whether it's for EDM or Metalcore. The mid while not being ultra-clear (obviously), it sounds natural and there's this lift in upper-mid region imo, so the thing like female vocal will sound more forward although it's not that intimate enough for me. The treble is airy enough and quite detail, you can occasionally hear that cymbals or sparkle, and more importantly it never feels harsh in my ears. I don't understand about some reviews that say the bass quantity is lacking.. like, how Blon BL03's will be then for my ears? Lol. Overall, Zero imo has that kind of balance sound..maybe a bit warm to my ears. Really a good sounding stuff that's suitable for all genres. A great conclusion is you can just bring these IEMs wherever you go and you won't worry about anything.
Because this reviewer is politician corrupt paid by company, if you ask him w/c one are better by the other he will answer you it depends Btw thanks for sharing your thoughts
@@abheekkumardas bl03 definitely has more bass quantity where salnotes zero is on the neutral side. Detail is better on salnotes zero too but it's also sounds brighter. If you love warm/bass-sounding IEM pick bl03, otherwise Zero is a suitable option.
@@hlway40 thanks very much for your clear advise 🤘❤️I am now inclined towards the Blon3. I listen to more of Jazz n Blues and old school slow rock. Need the real feel of the band, more of a vinyl kind of sharpness and warmth, real bass guitar tone.
@@hlway40 may I ask how are your pair of 7hz Salnotes zero after months of use, do they still perform as good as the day you bought them? I'm looking to buy a pair for myself but I am hesitant whether if this iem has a strong durability or it just breaks easily. I hope u answer back hehe thank you in advance
Good morning from Toronto ☕️☕️ I’ve been playing with the Dioko these past two days ….I’ll be taking pass on these . Good review 😋 Thanks and Namaste 🙏🏽
Hi, I couldn't resist all the hype on youtube about Zero so I just bought them and got them yesterday. And...even I prefer my Sennheiser HD 600, Hifiman 5xx with few nice amp dacs, this is just phenomenal. First I was gladly surprised listening from my beloved portable usb dac Lucya, another 20$ gem. At home I plugged in my Pro-ject S2digital and zen can with HRT 2+ dac and I couldn't go to sleep, re-listening al my favorite acoustic jazz and vocal music. You shoud hear it to beleive it.
@@eey78x Which sets are you talking about? The idea of an IE900/IE600 on the cheap really intrigues me, as I was thinking of the IE600 as my endgame set.
Update: Holy shitz i cannot believe how good this iem is. It beats the FH3, Melee, Tin t3 and Olina for Gaming and tonality. Thanx for the review i was searching for this. The Tonality is so fine it just makes me mad i payed so much for other IEMS i dont actually like. The Bass is good, nothing sharp in the highs but just extremely clear. Not to bright just exactly right. I was sceptical to this review because i bought some cheap iems in the past and there was nothing i liked. but man it is so spot on. The only thing you are missing out on is the " Air " wich i dont like anyway because airpressure hurts my eardrums. Because of this iem i discovered my preference tends towards lightweight airless iems.
Im familiar with those expensive iems you mentioned, i cant believe you don't like it, that's why I started from cheaper zero, I only mention it i don't have them right now Tin3+, dunu titan s, Aria moondrop, hbb olina, mele, truthear cinacle zero
If I get sent the s12 perhaps but at this point my budget has been blown clear by the airpods pro and the new Bose qc earbuds :-) reviews coming soon !
So I had bought these for gaming (apex legends specifically) and has its not horrible, The Iems do not do a great job of making footsteps sound accurate to how close or far they are, people in different rooms sound like their right next to me and vice versa , the foot step audio sounds the same. The comfort was amazing once you find your proper ear bud size and the listening experience is amazing (wicked games by the weeknd has never sounded better) Amazing purchase for $20 but for gaming being a focus I would recommend something else
yah i agree that positional accuracy and separation aja imaging is not good in Apex. Surely you hear stuff but its allways somewhere there and not accurate enough for me.
That was a great review! From Jazz n Blues perspective, how does the Salnote Zero compare to Blon3. Which in your opinion has a richer sound, more definition and very less ear fatigue? I am a slow rock fan too! Thanks for your advice 🤘
Just picked up a pair of 7hz zero's and gotta comment on it's gaming performance. The imaging is fantastic, best i've ever heard, however compared to my Philips X2 open back headphones the ability to judge height and distance was definitely inferior. I'd imagine for a game like valorant the headphone would be great but I have not tried. However, for the game I regularly play, Warzone, it was an awful experience. The explosions and gun shots in that game were incredibly loud, painful even and drowned out any chance of me being able to hear enemy footsteps it felt like too much was going on all at once and was hard to differentiate the sounds I was hearing. I tried playing around with EQ to see if it was salvageable but after a few hours of trying I gave up and went back to my old pair of headphones. They are pretty good for music though.
I love the fact that these are being compared with headphones. :). Yes, when there is a lot going on, even in music, they do lose composure as I mentioned. However, with the bass response they have...I'm not sure why the explosions are so loud and overpowering for you.. is it just the congested soundscape in that moment or the impact of certain game elements..
@@imwhatsnew I would say it was a combination of the soundstage being so condensed that the loudest noise is going to overpower every other sound. So in a game like warzone with loud noises happening all the time it was incredibly difficult to pick out the enemy footsteps. Whilst on my pair of headphones (X2) there was a degree of separation with the sounds so if somebody else was firing their gun, I could still pick out the sound of footsteps. This is possibly a problem with all IEM's and is an unfair comparison but if you had the option for both like me, I felt like it should be mentioned but it has now sent me on a quest to find a pair of headphones with as good directional imaging as these IEM's. Warzone specifically, I would not be able to pick out enemy footsteps over my own sounds my character made, such as my own footsteps, reloading, plating as well as the constant background noise of loud planes, and explosions and my own gunshots. It felt like I could pick out the loudest sound with pinpoint accuracy (directionally) but only that sound. For a game like valorant or cs I imagine this problem would not be anywhere as problematic, but I have yet to try the 7hz zeros on those titles.
@@tyski9000oh yes, i can totally see that happening. For me in Apex legends i had no issues ..and that game can get quite intense in terms of sound..and also quite confusing. And yes, I'd pick good headphones myself, more often than not. Just wanted to understand what you were hearing. Thanks for that!
This the comment I needed!!! I play Valorant and wanted to know if these were any good, people suggested this to me over the Chu's so hopefully I'll like it.
@@imwhatsnew Have you tried it with different cable w/ Mic and it works pretty well? So I can buy extra cable with Mic for it 😁 Communication is very important when you play FPS/Competitive games.
If you do battle royale and FPS For footstep its need bass / sub bass For gunshot its need high / trebble Alternatively you can get "CCA CRA+", v-shaped than Salnotes Zero which is close to flat
Cant decide btw 7hz or the tangzu waner for competitive gaming. Tangzu just look more appealing but they are also a bit warm and smooth compared to 7hz balanced. Read and saw many good reviews for 7hz but very few for the tangzu's. Any help would be appreciated btw the two.
Heyy! I love classic rock. I had Blon 03 but didn't like as it lacked bass that a drum of rock should feel and over treble gave me headache after 3 tracks. I returned it, should I consider this 7Hz Salnotes Zero or something else in this range?
@@yaminfaruque9474 They are not bad but they dont have start to Monolith M350 in games but to be fair in this price range you wont find anything better and if you dont want spend much and have good performance i could recommend them for overall use and gaming but i had to invest few more $ for foam tips to get proper seal, otherway those IEM's was loosing distance imaging. I was using it with some cheap apple dongle, creative G3 and iFi zen dac v2 and honestly i didnt found anything that would excuse spending more money than you do for apple dongle. They was even playing with my mainboard but with this configuration i heard some white noise.
Hi, abhishek can you tell me , how good these iems are during watiching movies, And does they support dolby atmos 5.1 surround sound? I am primarily looking for something which can be good for movies+music
That's now how Atmos works though ..it's not upto the earbuds ..it's the way the sound is mixed and the way your speakers are set up. But for movie watching I'd say these don't have the bass to really be immersive in action movies and when there are a lot of things happening at the same time ...it becomes a bit much for this to handle..so for action movies I'd say these aren't all that great.
I was a huge fan of Airpods Pro until they broke (apple replaced mine for free because it was made before 2020 Oct, yes its a thing) so i fell into this world of "Audio" and both Sr850, Philips X2HR and currently loving the TinHifi T3 Plus and loving it. I use the Airpods less and less daily and I was wondering, 1 Airpods Pro for $250 or X2HR + T3Plus + Jcally Dac for $240? Whats your opinion? Love your videos! Inspiring me to do more tiktok regarding audio Thanks for your content!
You ever tried any Koss headphones? The Koss KSC75 cost $20 and I’m selling my X2HR thanks to them lol. They’re amazing. Plus they’re 70g compared to the 400g or so that the X2HR weigh
I'm going to compare those against my all time favorite iem (Q-Jays with custom mold earbuds) in the CS1.6 environments and see if they can become their successor.
Hello sir , can we use it to DJ ? yours is the best detailed review I've come across. I used the moondrop chu which has non removable cable and struggles for bass too . thanks for the great review , Namaste sir
Exactly how good are these for gaming? Surely they aren't the best at only $20? Because everyone said the same about the Chu's and I've been underwhelmed or my windows audio settings aren't dialed in properly. I'm looking at these but others have also suggested the Dunu titan s. I play shooters only.
For eSports(I play Apex legends), it's fantastic..not immersive theatrical story based gaming ..it's ok for that too but lacks the bass response for it .
7 hz salnotes zero vs moondrop chu vs kz edx ultra vs kz esx vs blon bl03 ? Which one should I buy? Love music want to use for everything Specially for music and movies and for long term use as well Suggest me one Please Thank you
Do you have any listening experience with the tripowin lea? if yes how do they compare? they both seem to not have alot of bass. Btw great video. I liked your comparison to the moondrop chu.
A cinematic game usually benefits from a bit more bass provided it is a well controlled bass I.e. tight rather than sloppy souding. The zero should be great but I am currently reviewing two iems that might do as well but with a but more bass and immersion...
@@imwhatsnew aight thanks man, i wasn't really listening back then i watch the vid again It's really good alternative since Chu have downside on their cable
i bought the Linsoul 7 Hz x Crinacle Zero: 2 today.... what's your thoughts, should i have bought 7Hz Salnotes Zero instead for gaming professional CS2?
Okay, I am admitting - after watching and reading lord-knows-how-many videos and articles, I am still confused what kind of sound signature is required for the type of music I most-of-the-time listen to - which is mainly the background scores of the movies and games (the OSTs goodies that comes with pre-ordering stuffs). To give you an example, just try listening to this one - Life Beyond, Chapter 1 by melodysheep OR tracks from the Audiomachine, etc. My sources of listening are either flac files (on my LG G8x and Samsung s22) or Spotify (very high quality downloaded files). Please help me out shortlisting some not-too-costly and budget-friendly IEMs Also give me some pointers in identifying the ideal type of sound signature for my choices.
Hello, so I'm looking for a pair of items. I mostly play single player non competitive games. So i guess at least some amount of bass is essential for me. It sounds like the Truthear Zero sounds perfect, buti also have small ear canals so that's a bummer. What would you suggest for me? Increased Soundstage is definitely welcome.
