It is such a breath of fresh- air to be listen to a minister that’s not a comrade - in any way ,shape or form and his already giving valid details about basic information most SA citizen regard as important
I tend to disagree that officials at DHA are corrupt, if they were, all those people who have been waiting for their visas for years would have paid bribes and obtained them already
It's not only the question how technic can improve, it's the question, why visitors at home affairs offices are treated disrespectful in many cases. Lot of space for improvements. DA will show its capacity 🎉

He is missing a point already, Motsoaledi was in the process of phasing out the green ID book replacing it with the smart card, many illegal immigrants are walking around with fake IDs some of which belong to deceased persons. It is very important to have a deadline by which the green ID books will be completely phased out. He needs to speak to Motsoaledi to get an update and continue with the work he had started, he should not reinvent the wheel.

I just traveled to europe and back. I had to show my visa to our own customs entry/exit gates. this is a standard even in all our own african countrys.
Cancel the Zimbabwean permit and IDs issued !!!! These foteigners that dont bring job opportunities must all go!!! Only those that bring at least 10 professionals musg be allowed in SA
First priority.... employ more workers at home affairs. Polokwane branch is loosing people who is retiring and those people post arent getting filled because treasury dont have money to employ and fill those positions.
My question is why Home Affairs in Edenvale refuse to issue my ID because I am not born here. I am South African citizen and live here for 25 years. They gave me an email address to email, but no one replied.

I voted for DA but I'm starting to be scared when he said he wants to speed up the process to issue foreigners with permits. I mean that will be totally opposing what average south Africans want. I'm not talking about south Africans who are gaining cheap labour from foreigners
There also needs to be an online document tracking system, not just for passports and IDs but every conceivable document e.g. letter of no impediment, marriage certificates etc. Issuing new IDs should be sped up to no more than 10 business days, we also need a way to deal with the police clearance certificate backlogs. It costs +- 150-200 rand and takes 3 months in some cases to be issued and more than 6500 to have this done and shipped overseas. I don't know who is bribing who but I'd prefer the middle man completely removed and rather have an efficient, fast, cheap and accountable process
The minister can do better ,because he knows at times I ask myself why people has be in this country for more than 15 years without permit if is Europe you should have get your paper he must check that one

All South Africans have to carry their ID's, not just black people. In fact, I don't just have to carry my ID, I have to carry my drivers license, as well. When I go into the bank or Home Affairs and a lot of other places, I have to show my ID. When the metro police pull me over, and when I go to pay a speeding ticket, I have show my drivers license. So this isn't a race thing, at all, it's just how it works.
The Home Affairs really needs a 35 year old to literally shoot new blood, Motsoaledi was too focused on making emotional decisions and going to court for those decisions he made. Atleast this minister wants to marry DHA with GDP for the economy to grow.
I hope the new minister of home affairs can make it easier for South Africans to change their surnames.example if a child grows up without using their true surname,it must be easier for them to change to their original surname...
🤔 Business visas its interesting how South Africans differ on this visa matter. Caucasians view other nationalities coming in the country (skills transference ) and Africans as opportunist with criminal intentions (criminal/poverty skills transference). We aplay for permit in May 2022 . And we still waiting.. and ppl who paying 22k - 25k . Thay permit only approving.... it means no mony no permit... that's how is working. And ppl who don't have legal entry in this country and thay getting permit and permanent. ... how it's work.

All the higher skills, like teachers, nurses, doctors, dentists, civil-, structural- and computer engineers, to name but a few. A lot of people with those skills left the country, so we have to replace them, and training people takes time, especially since we are short on teachers.
I have been waiting for a surname change for 2 years. My son has his fathers SURNAME, but they do not want to insert his name as the father????? Remedy. Reapply. 😭😱
