Neat idea and definitely seems to feel like baseball. Agree that you need more dice. Almost like a single off Color die that you roll with every batter. I would also like that dice to get a single on a 6 or something wackier, as a way to have even a small chance with each person and be able to use the SAC guys without having to trigger their ability. Not a game for me, but neat to see playthrough,
Gabe mentioned this elsewhere, but as you get used to the game, you will see that there are plenty of dice available. However, we do want to give new players a little boost as they learn the game, so we are developing some manager cards that provide extra resources. The idea is to start with a manager that gives you a pretty hefty bonus, then as you win you get promoted to a manager with less of a bonus. I'm happy to report that you're off-color permanent die is going to be one of the managers!
I wasn’t sure I wanted to watch all of this, but I got sucked in and wanted to see how your team did! Your anger with your players reminded me of myself when I play. Hot headed managers are a staple of baseball. I had so much fun watching I had to back the game. I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays 2 player as well.
Loved that die roll at the end! This game feels ambitious for what it's trying to simulate given the small form factor, got to give props for that! But yeah, way too lucky for being such a tight game, and not enough mitigation or options to control the results.
As non American I don't get baseball, so I intended on skipping on this playthrough, I only watched it because of your recommendation about the last 90 seconds over on patreon and I have to say that it actually was worth it 😂
Singles don't score the runner on 2nd base as is typical IRL? This game has Baseball Highlights 2045 vibes, which I love, but I'm not sure it's doing it for me.
In IRL, singles can score runners from 2nd base quite often, but there are a lot of factors in play there (how hard it was hit, location of where it was hit, how fast the runner is at 2nd, etc).
