@@arielgaede3673miss Pink is definitely miss thang. She’s so smart and keen. She’s going to be hard to beat when she’s full grown. Hard to believe she’s only seven weeks. Absolutely delight yo watch you train and interact with these gorgeous puppies. Thank you. Look forward to your next one. Cheers from Aust
A tiny genius! The whole litter are going to be world class protectors, especially miss Pink 💖 Edit: glad you’re prioritizing your mental health, Matt! We’ll be around to see the thanglings whenever you upload
Mine still has his dipped tail at 5! The tip is white though, the rest of the lower half has greyish black hairs. It's been like that since we adopted him at 6 months old.
I hardly ever watched a dog trainer modifying his techniques so much to accommodate a dog, in this case an utterly lovely pupper, so interesting to see you work And yea, only real experts make hard stuff look easy, and at least I know that it is all in the details even if I could probably not put it into practice myself
Oh but you have to modify your techniques all the time when training dogs, im not as good a trainer as he Is but I can tell you from my experience, knowing when to switch and adapt is the key to success. I have 2 rottie/labs, 1 is 10 the other will be 3. The younger one has rottie whimsy (if you dont know what that is, practically doggy add) and even tho that should make her very hard to train, she picks up stuff so fast and is used to improvise and think fast to the point where her whimsy is not a bother at all in training anymore. She has nowhere near the attention span that you seen miss Pink have in the video but still it didnt take us much longer to learn switching bark targets (aldo we did do it at around 4 months old and not at 7 weeks like he does in the video)
The title does not do this video justice. This is a real time tutorial teaching switching targets for a new learner, and really one of the only and best ones that exist for public access. I don’t do protection sports, but I do train switching targets (I do canine freestyle, so for example, you might want the dog locked on and doing behaviors in front of a mirror, or a treasure chest, etc.) so it was great getting to watch your style of foundation work on this behavior. I think this content is invaluable for those who want to do positive training with protection sports, and you did such a great job demonstrating the mechanics and alternate markers. You also did a great job on showing what is possible with appropriate timing with the so meticulously thought out increases in criteria, always considering the dog’s well being. You were spot on, beautiful work. By far your best video yet, would love more of this! ❤
I can't get over how quick a puppy can learn or is it just because their special pups? So cute she jumps up every time she barks. Take your time getting out videos, your health comes first!
Imo, it’s this breed’s intelligence and desire to please in concert with this expert trainer’s skill in shaping the target behavior. The stars are aligned.🤩
All puppies/dogs are different, some catch on really quickly and some not so much. These working breeds have been developed and selected to basically catch on very quickly and be highly trainable and handler focussed- but there's still probably variation in the litter and he will select the best ones to continue with. But I had my whippet puppies giving a basic sit and recall at 6 weeks. There's no reason you can't teach basic skills to a puppy once it can walk, so long as you have a suitable reinforcer and knowledge on training. They've been able to teach newborn puppies to detect a target odour (though they forget eventually) - just for a bit of bonus trivia.
The quality breeding is a factor for sure. Not just that, but she's an especially dedicated puppy even within her own litter. She sure is special ❤ and so is her trainer! It takes great talent and so much practice to develop this sense for when to push her and when not
Take all the time you need for yourself and the pack. We will be here when you're available to put out content. We're invested in these Thanglings since before birth, we're not going anywhere. Sending love and strength against burn out. ❤❤❤
The wait between videos is more than worth it! You go above and beyond most dog trainers i see online. You and the pups are rockin it. Absolutely rest when you need to
Tbf anybody would burn out after 100 hrs of work each week for 11 weeks... Respect sir. Your devotion and love for all these pups and what you do is very rare. I feel really lucky i happened upon your channel a year or so ago.^^ Wish you, your pups and your team all the best. :)
This is delightful to watch! You do such wonderful care for your dogs and their mental health, it's great you're doing the same for yourself. Not only would burnout negatively affect them, but it's also just something you deserve as a person, the space for that self care. I always remind myself, self care is valid work!
I so agree with you. You take so much care in loving and training these wonderfull dogs (and puppy’s 🥰🥰) and their mental health. It is great to see that you do the same for yourself, and explaining how you do that for you. You inspire me!
Your work and you passion for it is amazing. RU-vid is a treat, not an entitlement. If you take longer to post or need a break, that’s nothing to apologize for. We are just lucky to watch you and the dogs when we can. Look after yourself.
I don't mind waiting if you and your team need more time. A happy dog trainer = a happy puppy. Your videos are awesome! It helps me with training and understanding my own Belgium Shepherd. Thanks!
I’m 63 and I wish I had the time and energy to have one of your pups, you have amazing dogs, I really enjoy your videos, I find myself so relaxed. Thanks
That Modern Malanois intro 😂❤ Oh these puppers look so very intelligent. It's incredible considering they've not even been on this planet for 2 months!! Crazy 😍
I have a 7 week old GSD pup that I am starting to train and you make it look so easy *cry* I am really encouraged by your videos and appreciate all the work you do and that you share with us!
Thank you for making these videos. I'm also autistic and close to burn out with so many things happening in my life. You are an inspiration and don't feel too pressured to get a video out each week.
Having watched Miss Thang and now Miss Pink both being such fast learners, I was wondering if there’s a gender difference in how dogs learn, or if it’s down to each individual dog? PS, your health and wellbeing are more important than a regular schedule, we love watching your content enough to wait for you to upload 😊
What a phenomenal video. Awesome narrating explaining what, how and why. This is incredibly informative. Beautiful pup, beautiful trainer.. beautiful results. This is just beautiful. I am blind and I really appreciate what you are doing and I appreciate the narration. Please continue to do more of these types of videos and please continue with the audio description as best you can. It is HIGHLY appreciated. It means A LOT that I do not have to send videos to friends and-or family and ask for descriptions. It means so much. It is a big deal, so thank you. You and pups are the freakin’ best. Much love from Denmark from myself and my wonderful guide dog:
What a beautiful Pinkling! Good girl!! You are doing such amazing work with these little beasties - they (and your other dogs) take precedence! The videos are nice to have but the critters (and yourself) are the most important!
Sir, I must say your videos are really inspiring, I'm under the process to become a dog trainer (waiting for the final exam), I'm but a humble beginner, altough watching your videos helps quite a lot. Keep up the good work! Bye from Italy.
Your patience and skill in training your pups must be commended. I am aware of your medical challenges which further demonstrates your special abilities with your pups and dogs. THANK YOU for ALL your hard work and for these well produced videos. You are well appreciated.
That is such amazing progress :))) I’m so happy for you and the entire litter, they’re truly something And thank you for taking the time to make videos at all! On top of managing the training for so many puppies, these videos are such a privilege and valuable resource, thank you so much for teaching us all about these dogs ❤
I brought a german shepherd mix home a couple weeks ago and as expected she is quite noisy especially when playing as barking and circling/chasing is the only play she’s comfortable with and knows of at this point. I’ve been thinking of trying to direct her barking and kinda harness it a bit so this is great inspo. She’s three but has never lived inside and with an owner before so it’s a lot of firsts. She’s the best girl
You training the pups and doing what you love doing, is most important. Yes, we love your video's, we love just watching you training them, it is super awesome, and personnally I think you might be one of the best trainers I have ever seen. But you come first, then your dogs, then us. If you hurt, your dogs hurt, and we are not that important nor that hard to please. If you feel a ASD burnout coming up, then focus more on yourself. I too am autistic, and have had multiple ASD burnouts, because of trying to please others, so I know how difficult it is to focus on yourself first. Just remember, we love any and all content you give us, but you come first.
These videos are absolutely gold for someone (like me) looking to train dogs. I have a working line GSD that I will pick up in 2 weeks when the pup is 8 weeks. I cant wait to try your techniques on my pup. You do an amazing job and the dog community thanks you.
Oh no! Please make more videos! I was halfway to training my 1 year old dog to bark at the things i wanted her to bark at! What comes next? Your content is invaluable! Your the best! Don’t let anything or any other people bring you down! I love this channel!
I had no idea that dogs struggled with generalising - that explains a lot of issues I've had where the family dogs are great inside, but almost untrained outside! Also I totally get autistic burnout - don't stress about pumping out content! We just love seeing the Thangglings thriving. I'm curious, if Pink is top of the class, who's just behind her? And who's learning slower than the rest? Either way, with tons of your infinite patience, they're all gonna graduate with flying colours.
Feels like she wasn’t sure if it was the barking or the little hops or both that you were rewarding her for so she had to keep trying slightly different variations of all those.
Incredible 🥰🥰🥰🥰. Please take all the time you need. I love your videos and they are so helpful. I know you will never put something just to make a deadline and I'm grateful for it 🙏
Love these video's, and don't mind the wait. I love watching them learn and I learn a lot from it too. Might try some of these techniques on my 8yo malinois to see if I can get him to bark at a target too. He knows quite a few things, just not that
Whenever you post anything we are always here for it. Don’t ever stress yourself out over not posting. You need to be the Great BooBoo Daddy for all of your fur babies. Stay strong!! We all care about you Matt❣️
Well done pink and well done team ! Thank you for your videos but don't push yourself too much and take care of yourself before thinking of uploading content ! We'll still be here later !
Thank you SO much for these (longer) videos! It's incredibly helpful to watch your way of training, from the overall steps to the little modifications you make. Wish you the best and I'm glad you're looking after your health and taking the time needed. We're all so happy with the content you provide so waiting for it is always worth it! :)
Love how high and excited the little barks are!! and the constant wagging tail! And the little full chest hops! The patience and steel nerves one must have not to give rewards if she doesn't give the right reaction to that happy little puppy face...
18:02 to 18:06 was absolutely hilarious! The tone shift, expression, etc. Perfect! X'D Thank you so much for your hard work to teach and entertain us, please take all the time you need. I prefer waiting for videos from a healthy person rather than get daily videos from someone that is sick due to working too much. :')
Please take care of yourself ❤ your health and well-being have number one priority, and we can wait on videos! The quality is great so also worth a wait
You are so patient with those pups and it show how well they are excelling. I love seeing how they are doing and how big they are getting. Thank you for all you do! Well worth the wait
I learn so much watching you train. Also loved the play session at the end! Take whatever time you need for yourself. I never pay attention to when videos come out so I never feel I'm owed one. I think all your followers will respect your decision to take care of yourself too.
This was AWESOME to watch, thank you SO much for sharing!!! I’m so excited to see another trainer who learned to use a click sound from their mouth because their hands are too busy for a clicker 😂 Such a good Pink-thang 🥰
Upload videos as often as you can while still maintaining good mental health! I assure you most of us viewers want you to feel well and not burn out, even if we love when a new video gets uploaded! Take care
I only just discovered your channel yesterday, and it was an instant subscribe, I've been binge watching like crazy these two days. I LOVE you, your channel, your style, your dogs, your love for your dogs and your incredible training. Im very late to this brilliant party BUT please take all the time you need. Your videos and channel and expertise are just mind blowing.
Another great video! Im so glad I stumbled upon your content. With your help, I found a new passion in training my 10 year old labrador like a protection dog 😄 He will never do bitework or be trained to attack people, but we're having a blast working on stuff like the lure, heel and barking commands. Since he is so well trained in the "aus" and "pack" commands aswell, the kids in my neighborhood can safely play fetch with him, which gives him ultimate joy and the kids love it. Thanks for sharing your experience with us 🥰
I tried doing this with Max this morning as I'm in South Africa, but he just sat and looked me straight in the eye 😂😂😂 will need to try this again... you are brilliant with the dogs!!
Thanks. That's a brilliant breakdown of the training. It's also an insightful explanation of the amount of work you do to run this channel. Look after yourself
I appreciate the videos that you share so much. I would happily watch a video if it was just your dogs doing their thing, playing and socializing with each other. That being said, I wish you all the best and a lot of strength to take care of this 8-puppies litter, which must be more than a handful to manage. I am glad that you openly share your struggle and I respect it a lot. Whatever pace of uploading you chose, I will be here for it and I wish you the best!
I'm going to start working with my dogs on this. My big male German shepherd struggles to identify what is and isn't a threat so this would be great. He just defaults to everyone is a threat. 😂
I really appreciate the videos, take as much time as you need and don’t overdo it. The puppies are adorable and incredibly impressive. Not to mention the trainer!
I love your approach and love for your dogs. I also appreciate that training and correction is love too. I have a 7.5 year old Rottweiler who is known having acl problems because her hips are so bad. She came from a so reputable breeder. I am 58 and I have another large dog in me. I am watching your channel for training instructions and they are so easy to follow. Thank you for speaking for dogs
