One thing I learned this week is the if you have just came from a ride and the trike is wet do not apply your parking brakes. Their is a good chance that the brake pads could get stuck onto the rotors causing you to think the bike is not able to ride. Wet metal onto wet metal will dry causing rust! Place the bike in gear once it’s in the garage and let the water dry itself.
@@TriGlideEd yes that’s the one. I just love you videos. I sit in my chair with a glass of 25 year old Rum 🍹and just enjoy watching you! I’m sick of these other young people promoting thing cause companies give them free merchandise. Watching you is like watching the little league baseball games, they play an honest game and you give us an honest video, and for that I thank you! Good nite and God Bless!
I enjoy all your video's. I live in Ohio and I know I will never be in your area so it's great to see other parts of the country. Keep up the great work Ed. Thank You
Thank you Mike. My sister lives in Huron, OH and I might try to ride up there sometime on my Tri-Glide...but not between November to through April! To cold for these old bones. Take care, Ed
Thank you Ed for the video of SE Roanoke. I used to live on Clinton and walked past your house to walk with Malinda to Jamison. Wow has Roanoke changed. It grieves me that that area is so run down. Thank goodness we have our memories. Miss the accent but I have been told that I still have a little twang left! I live in Wichita, KS, still have family in Roanoke. Thanks again and blessings to you and your family.
Hi Gloria. Yeah it’s sad when you go through parts of SE that are so run down. Sorta breaks your heart a little I guess because we remember “back when.” Gloria what was your maiden name? I’ll tell Malinda we spoke. Gloria, Malinda has lived in northern Ohio going on 40 years. I think she talks like a “yankee” but after I’m with her for about 20 minutes I can still get some southern back into her speech.
I was going to comment but after reading the other comments, its' all been said. I'm glad we're not neighbors because if we sat down and started yacking about our past, motorcycles etc., we would never get anything else done! I know winter is coming (raining up here till Feb for sure) but keep them coming..
I also enjoy your videos and your stand for your Christian faith. I am new to the motorcycle life as I just recently purchased a 2019 Tri Glide. I enjoy your videos of your rides as well as the talks about your different equipment and accessories you and Harvey have installed. Always looking forward to that little bell letting me know you have posted a new video. Thank you sir and keep up the good work
I enjoy the touring type rides you do. I also enjoy the videos that you do about your trike. I also like your Old Men Rule tee shirt. Got one of those myself. JUst keep doing what you are doing.
my wife and I watch your videos and we are really new at this. We took a good ride for our Vacation this year we left southeast Texas rode through Louisiana,Mississippi, Alabama,Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, back home to Texas it was a good week it was a different experience that is for sure thanks for your tips and hints. we were successful and i think I would love longer handlebars and i love Coffee.
James that sounds like a GREAT trip! On 3 wheels or 2 it seems like the world just opens up more, doesn’t it! Also James, my next birthday, Lord willing, I’ll be 72 and James even as a small kid we drank coffee. We didn’t have much as a kid but Mama always made sure we had a piece of toast and some coffee for breakfast. Take care, Ed
I really enjoy all your videos, both entertaining and useful knowledge . I'm 64 and have been riding harleys several years. I had an 2006 ultra classic for 10 yrs, then a 2016 road glide ultra which I just traded for a new 2021 harley tri glide. I'm waiting for the dealer to receive it. The road glide has been getting more difficult to manage while riding two up with my wife so I'm making the transition to three wheels. I'm excited about putting the fun back into riding for us. Thanks again for your videos.
Bob the main reason I went to 3 wheels was because of the risk to my wife. If it’s just me riding and something was to happen...oh well. But to hurt the bride...
Hey Bill, Harvey still works for a living. He’s just a young buck. I do know they are working him right smart that’s for sure. I’ll tell him you said hello. Take care, Ed.
Well Ed I decided to join the Triglide brotherhood. I have watched all your videos and do enjoy the tours around your hometown and discussions about what happened at such and such location. Also like your evaluations of handlebar heights and wind shield bags. It must be nice to have the gift for gab. You have earned the right to repeat yourself! I am 72 and was riding 19 Limited and has got to the point I just can't hold that 900 pounder up when anything happens like unlevel ground, pea gravel underfoot to name a few. Have had polio, hip replacement, and back surgery and guess I have earned the right to ride a Triglide. Picking up new 2021 Triglide tomorrow. Hate to see the Limited go, but it was past time as have injured myself couple of times. My luck was about to run out.
James you will absolutely enjoy that Tri-Glide. Remember give yourself time to get use to it and the feeling of security and safety is GREAT! We are about the same age James I’ll be 72 next month, Lord willing. Take care enjoy that new ride and ride safe.
Ed, I have enjoyed all of your posts, thank you, going all the way back to 1967 I have owned 10 Harleys, the last 2 being Tri-Glades. When I first went to the trike it took me about a year to get used to the thing and I kept thinking what have I done. That was a '14 Tri-Glide with the 103 twin cam so when the '19's came out with the 114 and the new suspension I went ahead and got one and now I love it. I have 10" bars on it that are 2" wider and it makes it much more comfortable for me anyway.
I enjoy your videos even though I never had a Harley. I live in south east pa. North of Philadelphia and I’ve been past Roanoke Virginia many times going t Charleston S.C. We never went into Roanoke. It’s very interesting about the way America was when we were all younger. I also ride a Honda Goldwing with a Motortrike kit. Very nice.
I check every day to see if you posted a new video. You make all of us feel like brothers. My first motovlog ever watched was Harley Moon Rider..what a great guy. Like you, he tells the story from his heart. You guys are my inspiration to ride..Thank You. Rich
R.J. Thank you so much for those very kind words. Know that I do appreciate your comments and I appreciate you watching my videos. Take care, respectfully, Ed.
Greg as I've mentioned of Facebook this old man sure does appreciate your kind words. My friend Harvey mentioned this past Friday that we need to make another trip to Kentucky. If we do I'll certainly holler at you. Would love to shake your hand my friend!
Pat as you can see I hit the send button when I didn’t mean to...old people we’re a trip 😎 Pat I always say I’m an American by birth but Southern by the grace of God. 😂😂 I was in the Navy with some GREAT folks from New Jersey. Also New Jersey has some of the prettiest farm land I’ve ever seen. Take care, Ed
Took my 18' Tri Glide on a three day ride into the Colorado Rocky Mountains this past weekend. I Enjoy spending time with you on your adventures, so I thought I'd let you come on one with me!!!
Great job on the video as always Ed was hoping to see a new post soon. Yep us Navy guys always drink way too much coffee and have cut back to about 3 a day myself. LOL
Greg, several things that I became proficient at when in the Navy. A) learned to cuss (like a sailor), B) Drink coffee like a E-9 Chief. Appreciate you watching! Take care Greg.
Thanks for the shout out Ed. You are appreciated for sure. Keep doing what you do best. Keep making awesome videos. I always try to catch your videos. Ride safe my friend.
@@TriGlideEd according to Google maps its 127 miles from Tazwell. I was actually born and raised only 78 miles from Tazwell in a little town called Clintwood. Thus was also blue grass singer Ralph Stanley's home and his museum stands there today.
Good evening Ed, I only discovered your channel very recently because I bought a used ultra classic 2018 triglide from my local Harley-Davidson dealership. I will take possession of it at the beginning of next week. However, listening and watching your videos, I said to my wife, I would like to be her friend to this gentleman. I don't know which American region you are from but I live about 50 kilometers north of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. My mother tongue is French so there may be subtleties of the language that escapes me but I think I understand the essentials. So thank you for your good advice and tips and do we ever know, we will meet on a road one day. Thank you
Gaetan thank you so much for watching my videos and especially for your comments. I live in Ferrum, Virginia (USA) in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Myself and my bride visited Canada in 2018(I think) on our trip to Maine. We spent a night at a Bed & Breakfast in St. Stephens, Canada 🇨🇦 then enjoyed a visit to St. Andrews the next day.
I like your videos primarily because as a fellow TriGlide rider, you don’t have the condescending attitude toward those of us on 3 wheels as some of the motovloggers. I reduced to one cup of coffee per day, but the size of the cup increased by a factor of 4!🤓
Hey Ed.. Just found your channel and this 64 year old likes your content. You were saying in another video, people 45 and younger don't watch you. Well, they're not laid back like us older folks. They're still looking for what they want to do when they grow up. I kid. 🤣 I believe they're looking for drama and or excitement and thrills. We on the other hand are not, because we're afraid of burning out our pacemakers.. 🤣 All kidding aside you're doing a great job videoing.. I found you, because I'm looking at buying a Tri-Glide now that I'm disabled and having a harder time getting around. I sold my two wheeled 2007 HD 1200 Sportster, it was breaking my back. So I now have to get a new one to get some therapy. I live down here in Cherryville NC, not far away from Roanoke, maybe I'll see you on the road someday. Take care..
Hey Hoss glad to meet you "young man". This old man was burning the candle from both ends up until I was headed toward 28. Then the good Lord put this little country girl in my life and we just celebrated 44 years of marriage. When I was young the party didn't start till after 10 pm...and now the party ends no later than 9 pm cause it's bedtime :-) I thank you for watching my videos and know it is appreciated. I see a Neurosurgeon in a few days to find out how we're proceed with this severe spinal stenosis stuff. I need to be riding!! Take care, Ed
I enjoy the videos of your rides, history and hanging out with Harvey. Just keep doing what you enjoy and I think we’ll all keep watching. You seem like a great guy Ed. Thank you for serving our beautiful country sir!
Your videos are awesome! Really appreciate the history with your life stories. With your buddy Harvey still working, that would be the time to hop on his TriGlide for that 12" handlebar test drive. Be sure to ask for his permission first. LOL. Thank you for sharing your life with us!
I just had 12 inch bars put on my 2021 Tri Glide Ultra. They really are more comfortable than stock. Mine are 1-1/4 diameter bars. I did have to purchase a wiring harness at $35 and a clutch extension section for $114. The bars were not HD but they cost $289. Total cost with labor, $1,200.
Would love to see where your from and it’s history looks beautiful. It’s a lot different than where I’m from here in Illinois . Keep riding and be safe 👍🏻
Thanks Rodder I appreciate your kind words. Do you live In fairly flat land? When I rode to Colorado in 2019 we went through some very flat land. Of course we thought it was interesting the landscape. I live in the mountains and the curves and hills are what we’re use to riding. I appreciate you watching! Take care, Ed.
Hope you and the family had a great Labor Day! I have a question, my wife asked me about getting arm rest for the trike $349.99 + installation cost or back rest with pockets for her what do you and Harvey think about these items? Now remember if I put both on we’re talking about close to $900.00 to spend?
@@TriGlideEd she’s the passenger and she does not her own bike. She believes that the arm rest will secure her better and I’m just looking for some guidance. A group from my club just came back from Atlanta except one of them In Virginia didn’t handle a turn well and ran into a guard rail, he died lost a leg and was decapitated head was still in the helmet. So if I don’t sound right this is the reason and parents were in the back up car and saw the whole thing.
@@Trooper738 Oh my goodness I'm so sorry to hear this LofD. Harvey put the armrest on his to help make sure his daughter felt secure. So I would go with the armrest first for sure. Again I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of a friend. Respectfully, Ed
@@TriGlideEd just please keep making those videos they honest and very enjoyable. You’ll be in long pants soon the weather should be turning also I had suggested to watch “windsurf1” RU-vid he put a lot of work on his Trike also he put the rear door extra bungee latch on his Trike, I think in total he’s put 37 accessories on the Trike!
Just called my local Harley Davidson dealer and labor alone was quoted at $780 for installation of 12 inch handle bars. Guess I am going to have to look around or they might just get stuck on the old wish list.
Mr. Ed I hope life is treating you well. Have you thought about taking a cruise down the skyline drive and the blue ridge parkway? It could be anytime really. Like in the fall when leaves change colors. Just an idea.
Christopher I live maybe 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. In 2016 myself and friends rode from Roanoke, Va north on the Parkway to Waynesboro, Va and there it becomes the Skyline Drive. The Skyline Drive ends in Front Royal, Va. we rode it all the way that year going to Rolling Thunder. And yes sir it would make a good video folks sure. Take care, Ed
You should come on down to Tazwell next week on the 26 of August. We are having another small meet up where you could meet a lot of vloggers. Some great ones going to be there including me.
HMR my bride and I rode in a charity ride on the 28th which was for The Children's Miracle Network for children's cancer research. A cause very important to my family. I guarantee you had a great time. I subscribed to your channel and really enjoy your rides. Take care, have fun but ride safe. Respectfully, Ed
New viewer. After this past 17 day trip on my '19 limited I have decided to trade up to the tri-glide. Was looking at the area dealerships this past week and closet one was either NC or FL. Then this morning I was at my local dealer here in Charleston, SC scheduling my 40K service for the limited, when I saw a new 2021. They must have gotten it off the truck in last couple of days..So now a decision, do I snag that one or I had been thinking of holding off until Biketoberfest and seeing if I can get a better deal down there.
Doughnut, myself and my bride are riding in a Poker run fund raiser for Children’s Cancer research this coming Saturday out of Roanoke Valley Harley Davidson.
