Saw Rayford G. with JLP in New York back in the early 80's....Totally agree with you!.... Rayford is an amazing drummer!!!......Stay safe.

After the bad accident he suffered, which seriously injured his back, Rayford came back and time and time again... my man Rayford delivered an amazing performance like this one!👍👍

I am a drummer, and I knew all the drumers but this man its absoluted INCREDIBLE, FAST, MUSICAL, Its the best of all time. Perdón por mi inglés pero no es mi lengua materna. Que maravilla Rainford Grifith, lo he visto en Chile y es el más ANIMAL DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS. Un espectáculo ....

I am speechless. I have never seen/heard Rayford but have heard his name. This man is seriously the G.O.A.T. This is my favorite solo and absolutely earth-shattering.

Met Rayford in the 80's at Cains Ballroom in Tulsa with Stanley Clarke. Stayed after the show and met both. Awesome !!!!@

I've seen Rayford many many time over the years with JLP and had a chance to meet him at the Baked Potatoe. Great guy and probably the most underrated drummer of our generation.

He’s got a lot of Dennis happening for sure. Have you seen the newest Sonny Emory video? Displaying Yamaha drums? He’s BEYOND a monster technician and Drummer with feel. Clearly nowhere near as underrated as Rayford but a step above possibly as a drummer. Dennis, Sonny, Rayford and Will Calhoun are so much better than the gospel chops sport drummers of today. Sonny is the highest master drummer of the group that is still a bit underrated. Dennis isn’t underrated at all and clearly for a good reason. This performance is excellent.

OMG ! I saw Cobham at this Venue that same year and i'm Kicking Myself right now for having missed this show ! I can only hope JLP and The A-Team are comin' back thru Summer 2020.. Steve, as usual, you're The Man and Rayford, you're My HERO !

@@myshow667 Never got to see Rayford with JLP. Steve Smith was touring in '77. They opened for Renaissance. Someone got that backwards 🙃We walked out when Renaissance was about a minute into their second tune. We were just so drained from the JLP experience. Good times!

Wow I didn't know he had gotten hurt some time ago but he's played with some very good musicians from back in the day as like the late George Howard. I mean Radford is a bad man
