Pushing to see how far I can go with only a 2S Li-ion sub250g quadcopter and a 120m altitude limit.
There's still gas in the tank to go further next time!

Super cool!! I think u can fly it even on 2750kv motors, you should get home with just about 40% more throttle (82% throttle). So you get more efficient motors :D love your Lr videos!!

You should add a digital video link instead of analog, a cheap one like Ruby. You will get way better video. Some did it on 3-4 inch quads.
@ampedfpv
@ampedfpv 2 года назад
Looks interesting, but it would be way too heavy for a Sub250g long range build like this. The 500mW Tramp VTX used here weighs about 1g. Unfortunately, there's no digital system available that can come anywhere close to that weight vs power output.

Have you considered using new HGLRC (Rekon) 1603 2800kv motors tailored for Rekon 4" LR ? Can't wait to see and compare performance with Dave_C's incoming Rekon35. Great projects, 2S Li-Ion is future of sub250 LR.
@ampedfpv
@ampedfpv 2 года назад
No I haven't seen those motors yet, but they look interesting! They would add a few grams to this build, which would put me over 250g with 3S 18650, because I'm right on the edge there. I'll have some new videos in the spring with that setup. So far I've managed 11.1 km on 3S, but I can still do better!

@brezovprut4431
@brezovprut4431 2 года назад
I just noticed new 2S 18650 Rekon35 from Dave_C. It uses 1303.5 5500kV motor with 3.5" props. Do you think its more efficient for LR compare it to your 4" prop with 1404 3800 kV?
@divingfalconfpv4602
@divingfalconfpv4602 2 года назад
@@brezovprut4431 rekon35 wouldn't be a efficient. Think I've only seen people doing 20min flight max. He just did 21min with battery voltage left. Also explorer lr which similar setup in 4s but over 250g I've done 29min 50s repeatedly. 4" blades just more efficient. Drone would have to just be way lighter.
@brezovprut4431
@brezovprut4431 2 года назад
@@divingfalconfpv4602 I know, Rekon35 is not as efficient as 4" cruisers. It would be more efficient if there are 3.5" bi-blades available with slightly lower kV and overall weight. Btw, speaking of 4", I haven't tested 1603 2800kV motors, but they look promising for such 4" build Amped has made, the only thing I am worried if 2S 18650 (VTC6) can power them well, because min. recommended voltage is 11V.

@@juanjesusmillo2881 Yes, it can technically do some light freestyle. With a GNB 1100mAh long-range Lipo on it and a naked GoPro, it's still under 250g and can do some acro. That said, it's not really built to be crashed, so I don't do anything crazy with it.

I'm not really sure. When I want to do some HD video I mount a naked GoPro Hero 6 and use a GNB Long range 3S 1100 mAh Lipo, which is still easily under 250g and the 3S voltage improves the flight performance. With that setup I get about 10 min of flight time. Maybe more if I'm just cruising
