I bought a 5.0SC Autobiography at 1/3 MSRP with only 40k miles and at 80k miles you’ll get the « usual » issues that cars will have and obviously it’ll cost more expensive than a 60k MSRP car but it’s still cheaper than most German brands to repair and maintain. They chose to show a diesel model with 120k miles which is obviously an awful financial decision 😂 You miss out on the V8 pleasure, still have the luxury costs and have a car that’s going to have constant high mileage issues… But he is right saying that they depreciate like crazy!
Why do all the car examples used as "cheap" car prices not point out the fact they have super high mileage? Thats like like the #1 reason a "deal" was found...
I am currently having to replace new tires, shocks and i should be good for a good while. Since i did my 100K mikes tune up, belts, radiator flush and water pump replacement. Most people i know have same year car with 150K miles and basic maintenance. The advance model has an issue with the adaptive dampers, to replace them it’s ridiculously expensive. I have the base model, we use the car for long drives with the family
Those prices aren’t just from depreciation, it’s also factored in that most of those car prices had over 100k miles on it. No shit it’s gonna depreciate when it’s been driven for that long 🤯
Its not about how much they cost to buy, it's how much they cost to run. Not everybody is careful with their luxury cars either since, people who have big money usually use them s we would use our regular grocery-getters. It's a BIG risk.
While others are puzzled about what ev’s to buy and where do I charge it? I’m able to buy a tried and true luxury suv at heavily discounted prices. Gonna take this shopping list and buy something special for a fall road-trip.
Well of course they lost so much value they all have way over 100k miles on it. It's still a lot of money for some with 150k miles on it. Rather wait for them to lose another 30 percent by December
I was always a fan of the MDX.. Gorgeous Suv, looks classy and no need to empty your bank account to roll I style. But my choice is the X6M. I barely see them on the roads and they look sick.
The saving grace for the QX80 is how comfortable they are on the inside. They may not look great, but damn are they nice to sit in. I don’t own one, but I used to take pics at dealerships and if there was a QX80 on the list I’d save it till the end of the day so I could rest a little in it.
I really like how the modern QX80 and Armada, it's a nice square vehicle, especially now that the full size Land Cruiser is gone. The bumpers on the QX aren't great for off-roading, but that's not really the point I suppose.
The volvo supriesed me couse my father has a volvo v70 with the 1.6 TDI, with 303,000km (188.275 miles), and its value has dropped only one thousandth from the initial price we got it 7 years ago for €18,000
I recently got a low mileage glc63s for 50k. It's an awesome SUV, it was the fastest SUV around the Nurburgring at one point (still #3) and rides much smoother than the x3m and has a better sounding engine.
@drew8324 I understand the X4 is the coupe (like the glc 63s). Honestly, I just ended up with the coupe (s) instead of the non coupe (glc 63 non s) because I found one for a great deal. I test drove them all. Mercedes has a better interior, better speakers (Burmeister), and the twin-turbo V8 (better-sounding engine). BMW seems more track-focused but we're talking about an SUV here. My experience with Mercedes dealers is they give you much better treatment. Free car washes very polite it's just a higher-quality customer service. Also really cool about Mercedes is they devalue so hard. Pick up a used Mercedes that's 3-4 years old and you can find them for 50-75% off sticker. I have fallen in love with this brand.
How tall are you? Cuz I'm 6'3 250 (which I get isn't really "tall" 😅) and I love my mini cooper countryman. Surprisingly lots of room and isn't a giant ass car haha. Or my ford taurus sho! Big ass sedan, 365hp awd with everything lux u can think of haha and I still have tons of room to scoot my seat back. And my buddy( 6'5 300+) can fit in the back seat comfortably 🤷♂️ just acouple suggestions I have haha. My buddy drives a ls400 and lx470 lexus' for his big boy cars haha
Its not that they lose value. Most of those shown in the video have very high mileage. If you find one that has reasonable mileage for 5yrs it'll be pricier.
The milage on all the example do not justify the costs. I can’t fathom spending 30k for a car with 100k miles, I’d rather get a new economy car with warranty.
Buying an old premium car or SUV seems like a really bad idea. If you can't afford a $500 battery or $3,000 brake job, the car will be in the garage more than on the street.
I'll take the MDX 3rd Gen. It's a beautifully refined SUV with all the luxuries. Reliable and easy to maintained. Super-Handlings AWD. And ..and ...3rd Row Seating!!! Best value for the money!
Same! I’m trying to understand why he said no one talks about the MDX positively when I see people talking about it a lot and in my area many people drive 2017-2023 Acura MDXs from Tech, to A-Spec, and even a handful of MDX Type-S models definitely a popular SUV where I live
These cars may have considerably depreciated after five years, but more than the price, what will be the service costs? How much does it cost to service a Bentley after five years of wear and tear and maybe needing major repairs?
One common theme I see here is the expected reliability you’re going to have to pay for contributing to the decline in depreciation……(this excuses the QX80, which is decently reliable)
Those high mileage would keep me away even at 40-60% off. I've only had one new car in my life and that was my first car right out of college. If I have to have a car, then I buy preowned. We bought a used Lexus RX for $10,000. And one year later we sold it for....drum roll please... $10,000. Get a good used car at a great price and you can prevent pissing most of your hard earned money away. Maybe you can do a video on the depreciation % of quality used cars. Thanks.
In 2021 I bought a 2017 QX80 with 30,000 miles for $40,000. MSRP was $82,000 new. My neighbors are so silly they think I actually have money. LOL joke's on them.
it is a gamble to buy such cars , but who doesn't love to gamble . taking into consideration that gambling is addiction that will lead to being broke i would avoid such fabulous cars .
My mom bought a ‘16 Full Size Range Rover SCV8, at first I was “mad”. But honestly it’s had 0 problems so far, but I know once those problems DO come; it’s not something simple like a thermostat, etc. Good thing I’m a tech, or wait maybe that’s a bad thing given I’m the fucker stuck with fixing this fucker
All of these luxury cars are beautiful, but let's be honest, just for maintenance, it would be an arm and a leg Except for the Acura, which are great Quick question: Which website do u use to check on this vehicle's prices? Thanks
I am 18, I got a brand new range rover velar early last year. It hurts. The car I had before that, Mercedes GLS 450... And my mom's car is a Tesla Model X... This is sad.
Dude. The mdx from 2017-2021 is a boring body compared to the 2022. Night and day difference. The 2022 you show in the video is not going to lose the value like the old gen. They are almost 2 different types of cars in size and tech. I have a type S that’s 2022 and it’s only lost $5000
Most of the examples here had well over 100k miles on the odometer, so unless you want to look at it in your driveway, then no. But, If you could get a luxury SUV with less than 60k miles, then perhaps - unless... it's a Mercedes, Range Rover, Bentley, Volvo, BMW or Tesla. That really only leaves the Infiniti (ugg), Cadillac (cheap interior), or Acura (boring). Thanks for the info?
You literally had your number one choice and showed one with 200k miles on it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 show any car with 200 thousand miles on it and see how little it’s worth. Wtf
22 MDX has changed. The older model 21 and back yes I have to Agree I never heard of MDX till the new 22 model came out. What will the 22 MDX price be in 5yrs , idk but it can't be that bad I do enjoy the new 22 MDX, it's smooth , fun and luxury. Also Reliable compare to today's SUV on the market I have look back 20 yrs of MDX and oh hell no, no wonder I never heard of them , they are ugly but 2022 whole new look
The ACURA MDX is a boring Car/SUV. I have been saying this for YEARS NOW. The design is boring and dated. It looks like a 2013 SUV. I have no ide how Acura made the Integra so good looking but are incapable of translating the design to their SUVs. I call it incompetence on their part, i like ACURA as abrand but their SUV are behind design wise.
Spot on for all of these except maybe* the Volvo and Acura. Everything else is hot garbage especially the Range Rover, BMW, Mercedes and, well, everything else. The reliability of any of these is just crap even at 50-75% off so it might be a good deal as far as how cheap it is, Sweet Jesus, that BMW X6 will melt into a quivering pile of oil, coolant and plastic about 4 months after you pay 40K for it. The Bentley, you wont ever be able to get it fixed so good luck with that hunk of trash!
I need to get me a Bentley SUV lol Bentley doesn’t seem to suffer from unreliable problems huh makes it a great car to catch at a bargain 100k for like a 230-250k car sounds fantastic
@@SacrificesNVices for real? I had never heard a bad thing about them other than the maintenance is expensive Also the new Bentleys are on Porsche platforms. That should help?
@@UrbanBDKNY yea I know a few people that have Bentley and theirs never messed up according to them . But when I look up bentayga vs cullinan.. others say RR more reliable & I went to a dealership in Arizona Thursday … the person who works at the dealership said they had more people bring in Bentleys for Maintenance than RR . Don’t get me wrong I like Bentley interior a little better bc I feel like it’s more up to date than RR but seeing them in person . That RR makes that Bentley looks like a small toy car lol . Plus when I look at Bentley now I see a Audi . Truck … I wanted a Bentley bentayga bad until I did my research & see both in person
