Only if you plan to maintain your lifestyle the same as you was living in the US. Rio and São Paulo are thee most expensive cities in terms of cost of living, but with a pension of $2,225 per month you're living comfortably. In Brazil they have the same services as the US but you'll pay more for it do I recommend that you be flexible on your spending habits by making choices on what expenses you want to assume.

@@wilsmith44 I have a place on the beach, 2 bed 2 bath. Fastest net connection, bills paid, food for the month, I eat out almost every single day of the week, 1 to 3 times a day and not cheap local food. I take trips to beaches and other place almost every weekend, I go out almost every other weekend. I have a health plan, a car, pay for gas. Have friends over to the crib for a bbq. The list goes on and on, and I do all that for less that, 1500 USD.

Comparing Camboriu to Dubai is exaggeration. I've been to Camboriu. It's nice but I think there are so many more beautiful beach places in Brazil, such as Cabo Frio, João Pessoa, etc.

@@roninblue5885 you also might want to consider location by its weather, because there are locations in Brazil that feels like hell on earth in the summertime

Honestly for Expats, I'd avoid anything that is in the state of São Paulo or further north. It's too hot in the summer (sometimes/some places even year round), crime is rampant, police corruption is common and the quality of life is often awful. No wonder people from the south like to pretend they're their own country, every time I visited it did feel like it was.

@@AlfaRomeoQ yes. Unfortunately, the south will become lile the rest of the country in a few years becaise everybody seems to be moving south these days.

The way crime is being reported gives you the impression that a criminal is in every corner of the streets it's all hypersensationalism

Brasília is such a strange city. I won’t knock it or dis it, as most of my Brazilian friends and family are from around there. But it’s so so unusual. I taught at different offices all up & down the esplinade dos ministérios, and then I’d go home to my buddy’s place in Taguátinga. I walked on foot to the different escritórios, and usually could only get a couple coxínhas & a cafezinho ‘to go’ from one of the few food stalls at the rodoviária. It was hard when I’d walk deep into Asa Norte for an appointment covered in the dust of the red earth, seriously sunburnt, knowing that I ought to look professional, but knowing I was not looking my best. But I wouldn’t trade a single minute of my time there. People were friendly and very kind to me. I’m from the NorthEast part of the USA, and the Puritan roots of New England society still affect the ambient cultural milieu there. People say that we from New Hampshire, Maine, Boston, etc. are a little closed, and a little cold. In my home region, I’ve struggled being an emotional guy in a part of America where emotions are generally kept inside. But in Brazil, I found I was ALLOWED to have FEELINGS !! And my friends & people on the street or at the barzinho were all totally ok with me expressing myself. They made me feel understood and cared for, no language barrier problem at all (even though I spoke very very little português at that time). Ainda, eu preciso melhorar minha habilidade com o idioma. Mas, eu gosto aprendendo.

É verdade, temos que fazer uma grande limpeza por aqui... Muitos corruptos e ladrões ainda. Mas temos melhorado bastante nós últimos anos, e creio que conseguiremos sim melhorar o país. Mesmo assim não troco o meu país por nada, muito menos pelos EUA.

Se você viveu aqui por 20 anos, Sr. Vogensen, provavelmente vai entender o que vou escrever. Você deve ser estadunidense ou inglês, correto? Saiba que tanto nos EUA quanto Inglaterra também têm criminalidade, pobreza e corrupção estatal, embora seja bem menor que aqui. Estamos tentando consertar as mazelas do nosso país elegendo governantes mais confiáveis (como Bolsonaro), mas pelo visto vocês estão indo no caminho oposto com Biden e Borys Jhonson. Acho que você deveria pensar como as coisas estarão daqui a 20 anos...

You're right. The South is much safer and calmer. Rio de Janeiro is better for vacations but many cities in Brazil are amazing! What city in São Paulo do you recommend?

@@misterabroad123 Sao Jose dos Campos is a city in the state of Sao Paulo. It hosts Embraer, a leading manufacturer of airplanes. Sao Paulo has also other high developed cities like Campinas, Ribeirão Preto and Sorocaba. And a lot of smaller cities like Vinhedo, Atibaia, … that also have a high quality of life. If you are looking for a milder climate, you have Campos do Jordão (rarely snows). And Sao Paulo has also one of the most beautiful coastline in the country: Ubatuba, Ilhabela, …

This one had some good info. The presentation was the problem. What you want to do is make videos on single subjects. Like food costs in Brazil or in your area, accommodation costs comparing rooms, apartments, houses in different areas. That would be hugely informative so we can see what we can get for different amounts of money.

What you said is not true. It depends on the people who are celebrating. Yes, there are the ones who go wild, but there are also the ones who are there having fun without thinking about sex. There are elderly people, children and families celebrating together. Also, Carnival is celebrated in different ways in different places. You can't generalize like that. And you seem to know nothing about the African religions. Of course there is the good branch and bad branch of religions. We're actually facing the problem of more and more Protestant temples being created in Brazil, because it's good business. They control the people's minds and take their money saying that it's God's will. That's the religion I can see no good in....
