I really appreciate that you put a graphic of each book you talk about in the corner. So many booktubers just hold up the book, but often they move it so much or have special editions that make reading the title of the book very difficult.

Love that you are doing this together. My husband reads 2 or 3 books a year and doesn’t like to have to keep up with my 100 plus books. Love to request books from my excellent used book store. Also we have a giant Rotary Club book sale twice a year. Therefore I need to be strict about actually having a TBR shelf to make sure I read the pretties that I gather.

If you guys haven’t, read Brandon Sanderson. He is my all time favorite author. Honestly the only author I don’t have to even read the back of the book blurb, it’s always an automatic purchase. He writes Fantasy and Sci-Fi so I think he would be right up your alley. My personal favorite standalone is Warbreaker.

Despite having books partially read, have just picked and started The Evening and The Morning by Ken Follett. Prequel to Pillars of the Earth, it is set in the late 900’s and deals with the Normans, the English and the Vikings … so far getting to meet the characters, the writing compels you to keep reading and learning more about this time, how people live, and how these lives are intertwining through grief, love, and daily life of different classes of people.

I'm reading "The Twist of a Knife" by Anthony Horowitz. I'm loaning our daughter-in-law "The Mists of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Looks like a great June, awesome content again, thanks both :) I also read a lot of non-fiction & if you haven’t read it, I can recommend The Five by Hallie Rubenhold. It examines the victims of Jack Ripper from the perspective of their lives, rather than viewing them through the lens of their murderer. It contextualises & challenges a lot of what we know. I love the idea of doing book recs for kids! As a former teacher (4th grade) and Branden a current high school teacher, we could come up with a bunch. Not to mention those our boys love. Thank you for that! Also, we will certainly trust the process. Funny you should mention that because my first impression of Piranesi, based on the blurb, is that it is very much a ‘trust the process’ read. ☺️

Loved hearing your dedication to finding a copy of Jurassic Park. Back in maybe 2015/2016 my hubby and I found an old MMP version (black with the original logo) of it at a garage sale and we were both working as Paramedics at the time so we thought that’s a perfect book to throw in a backpack and take to read while waiting on calls. My hubby was not yet a big reader then but he devoured it and loved it, and then I read it for the first time after him. I refuse to upgrade that old copy because it’s the first book we read back to back to discuss and now we do it all the time. It also really got him back into reading and we’ve collected a massive library ❤

Hi Sophia! We’re still feeling out how much to hold the book in front of the camera lens, but the trouble is, it automatically focuses on one of our faces so we have to hide behind the book while we hold it up, which becomes tiresome. This is why I’ve included images of the books on the screen…which in future episodes I’ll make larger.
