im from a farm i had a motor bike accident 40 years ago and been in a wheelchair since then, I love watching hunting videos guys doing what I would have been doing,,,,, so thanks for this
luke duke I guess that the accident involved a Spinal Cord Injury? I did something similar but while I was skiing ~30 years ago. I’m C-5, & with the help of a creative friend, I’ve become very involved in 'Sport' shooting, starting with a "Led Sled" & semiautomatic 22s to a "Butt Bra"™️, (over-the shoulder rifle butt holder), bipods & I’m shooting an SKS, a Swiss K31, & my favourite: a Tikka T3x Lite (.223) with an extended Bolt handle that I’m able to cycle. I don’t know if you’re still into Sport/target shooting, but I’d be happy to give you a look at the adaptive equipment that has enabled me to get back into plinking in a big way. Here's my (1st day) Tikka with the "Extenda-Bolt": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hinH8t3Wmt4.html
@@frufru0071 hi yip im a c4 complete like you said there has been a lot of thought going into coming up with a method that hopefully works well for you I have a friend with a farm on the west coast who used to have a group of guys come over from chch hunting one of the guys was in a wheelchair to its good to have friends to make difficult things possible
Hi Luke thanks for your message, I was hoping that the video style would give the feeling as if you are there right with me. There is plenty more to come and also part 2 of this hunt will be out shortly! Thanks again and I'm stoked you enjoyed it
luke duke C4-I’m sorry my friend. I’m thinking about a roommate of mine who was also C4. He was über happy to be able to breathe on his own, I hope he’s still doing well. I hope that you’re doing as well as you can, and that your days are filled with happiness. My very best to you, friend.
That has to be some of the most serene and beautiful country I have ever seen. Talk about primordial. Definitely shows us that hunting is not always about getting a kill. That was a well thought out set up for an ambush. The stag you were looking for decided, "not today".
It's beautiful alright, I'm glad you enjoyed the journey. I agree, its not always about the kill, the hunt itself is by far the biggest part of the experience. Part 2 of this hunt is out later in the week and I do end up finding a Stag I am after
Thanks Joe & Nigsy for another awesome video of beautiful NZ!! Top of my bucket list after Covid!! You're probably aware of this already but Nigsy was limping pretty badly favoring his right front leg. Let us know how he's doing when you have time. Coming as soon as vaccines are out & shutdowns are over.
Yeah he has an old injury that gives him a bit of trouble in his shoulder. I'm thinking of finding a supplement that may help him out. Yeah lets hope you can get here soon Paul!
Another great JE Wilds adventure. Nice to see only animal prints and not loads of humans. It’s great these places still exist. Can’t wait for part 2....🙏🏻
Ammazziinnggg! 😍😍 It's so good to see just you and Boy back out there, doing your thing together! What an amazing place! 😍😍 I'm mega keen for part 2! 😱
thanks very much for the ride! fantastic country and thoughtful presentation! I enjoy your enthusiasm for nature and the beauty of the hunt, the appreciation of the wonders of nature .. from a very grateful virtual hunter, be safe ...
Hey awesome to hear this! I am going to be doing a lot of these type of productions to help with the fact that a lot of you guys out there cant actually get out for a hunt due to the current Covid crisis! Really good to hear feedback on them so make sure you let me know what you want to see more or less of, Thank you my friend
JE Wilds Greetings from Napier. I enjoyed watching your video ‘ thanks. What rifle and calibre are you using on this hunt.? Waiting on the next episode!
@@userbrentcarter hi Brent thanks for reaching out! Glad you enjoyed it, sorry about finishing it when I did but I felt 20 mins was getting too long. The next episode is uploaded and once this part 1 video has had the limelight for a week or so I will go public with part 2. The rifle I used in this video is a mates rifle, and is 7mm08 Tikka T3
Yeah I just got a negative comment from someone not happy that I wasted 20 mins of their time with this vid, so not everyone is in it for the hunt and just want to see the kill
Haha sorry to keep you guys waiting but I thought 20 mins was getting too long as it was! Part 2 will be up soon once this vid has had a few days to be seen
Thanks for the message mate, the brand I like to use is called Stoney Creek. It seems to do what I want it to do so I'm happy. Have a look through their range www.stoneycreek.co.nz
I assume there is no longer commercial shooting from helicopters. When I was living there in the early 80's the deer were being conditioned to stay in the tree cover away from open meadows and the tops. I am from Nebraska in the US. I taught for 2 yrs in NZ. You are absolutely right about the beauty of NZ, I tell people it's the only place I have been that is better than the travel brochures. bruce
Beautiful spot! Thanks for sharing this post, which I’m going to share with WestCoaster, (Mr. & Mrs. of Vancouver Island-you might like his videos). I’m expecting to see Orcs, Elves, Hobbits, or Gollum to jump out at you. I wonder if the scent of Spaghetti Bolognese attracted that Stag? What a great dog, and a gay Stag? Why not? It’s 2020, and if anything strange-I mean, 'new/different’-is going to happen, this is the year for it. Aliens might as well come out of hiding, because we’re ready for anything. Is that a Tikka? Sako? I hope you got a deer, because that 'randy' stag had a nice rack. Cheers!🍻👍🏼👍🏼
Hahaha yeah your right 2020 has been real crazy! I am glad you enjoyed the adventure! PART 2 is out real soon and I may have found an old Stag I liked the look of 🤫
Great video. I have not hunted in that area but the way you have filmed this makes me think of the book 'Along the Track' by the late Bill Axbey. A great read that you should enjoy. Good to see the Kuri Poaka again.😎
I will have to keep an eye out for the book mate! Ahh you remember the old boy, hes still around and likes to come with me as much as he can but I no longer let him chase the Boars around
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it, I know its not my normal style of production but I actually enjoyed making these vlog type edits. I feel like you guys, the viewers can relate more to them? What are your thoughts?
Yeah hes got a blind eye the old boy, hes been through a lot with me and I'm so blessed to be able to spend these quality times with him. Hes been up and down with health
Generally similar calibres although often were using smaller calibres for our general Deer hunts. In this video I'm shooting with a 7mm08 rifle. Most of my guiding I am carrying a 7mm magnum or a 300winmag
Thanks Steve! Part 2 is now uploaded but set to private. I feel I shall give part 1 a short go in the limelight so have been thinking about going live with part 2 at the end of the week! I'm real excited to bring it to you guys
I have Part 2 nearly finished, I decided to split them into 2 parts to keep the vids shorter and more viewable. Most people cant spare too long to watch so I wanted to make it easier for you guys to enjoy
Cool video, subbed. Just one thing can you edit with slower transitions and a steady camera, at times it was not long enough to take in the scenery or what you were showing, other times I felt bit sea sick. The content was however awesome. I hope you are not offended by what is meant as constructive comment. 😎👍
Thanks for the feedback, I am not offended at all haha. I appreciate hearing peoples thoughts. Have a look at some of my other production type edits. I have spent a lot more time on the edit on those type films. You will enjoy them I think
I would generally wear hi viz if it was the Roar but this time of the year there isnt many hunters out braving the cold in places like that during Winter
Yo brother one southern hunter to another, get rid of those crap factory tikka rings, get some Talley rings on that bad boy. Eventually those poor quality rings will fail and you’ll never know when! I’d hate for a fellow hunter to go through losing the animal of a lifetime because of gear failure🚫 Talleys are also Alloy so still light as but much better quality 👍
I think I will go public next week with it once this ones had a good go, I split it into two parts as I thought it would be too long otherwise. Whats your thoughts?
