Hey Guys! More in the concept of making your home look expensive, on a BUDGET! All links are in the description, 👇and they're affiliate, so you're helping out the channel! xoxo🙏 L And, be sure to comment with "Dupes" in the comments below if you want MORE of these!
Such a great episode with so many great ideas. CB2 and its sister, Crate and Barrel have been my go-to places for high style at reasonable cost. Again thank you ..
Very informative. My home is VERY traditional, leaning toward English Country/Cottage style. Would love to see a video about how to add furnishings/decor to update a traditional design to avoid looking too conservative or out of step with contemporary tastes. Mid-century or very contemporary pieces seem out of place in this kind of room. Thanks.
So good for us to see the less expensive version we are likely to be able to afford. And I love the examples of the various styles of rooms some of these choices will work well in. I adored the blue curvy sofa that came in at $11,000., sad to say. Woe is me.
Roche Bobois are unusually too overpriced. I think they’ve made their optimum sales in the late 90’s and the 2000’s for their creativeness and luxury. Not so much anymore. Their pieces are not as precious as they used to in terms of creativity, grooviness, and quality. In addition to the now available competition. Those trays from West Elm, I used to make them myself from 1996 to 2002 and sold tons in various sizes. I’ve even added 10X10cm tiles to some with flowers transfers for outdoor/Kitchen use. I protected all with a super durable clear topcoat 😊
Love the blooming flowers you use in your transitions! I know you covered lighting but I'm currently drooling over the Louis Poulsen PH Glass Table Lamp but at $4,400, the price is steep! Do you have any suggestions? I need to buy two to flank our bed.
The CB2 sofa is inspiring me… I have the Gwenyth sofa from CB2, and it’s quite low (which is fine for my apartment) but I may want to have a wooden platform made for underneath it in the future! Maybe when I move, I end up needing it less low?! It can give it a few more inches of height and keep the off the floor so that off-white boucle doesn’t interact with too much random dust & dirt!
Thanks, Lisa! I am definitely not rolling in the money but I love interesting shapes and colours, so dupes are perfect! Keeping design affordable makes it accessible and more widespread.
Hi Lisa.. I follow your channel and remember you mentioning in your videos that you would advice on a design idea if we send a request. I value your design taste and wish to take your advice how my kitchen with a particular color Marble slab countertop and backsplash looks. How can I send you the 3d renders for your opinion? Please help and thank you in advance.
I love the sofas. Sooo expensive. But the sofa should be the best thing in the living room or family room or den so spend on it and keep it a long time. Get a good one! Get the best wearing fabric and good strong foundation! Go for a brand name. You can always have cushions Re upholstered but get a good frame and go from there. Nice practical advice Lisa! I don’t like the pedestal tables bc they can tip over. 😍😍👏🏻🥰
Yes I would love more dupes, but my designer blood runs the largely traditional / a smidgeon of boho/ farmhouse. Like a pleated skirt on bottom of my cream sofa. More please!
More to come! Check out my NEW Amazon Store in the description, which has things I own, things I use and great pricing on the REALLY good stuff in there!🎉
In Germany and Europe in general, we ( ordinary people)buy the dupe of the dupe . For example the tulip table we’ve bought was 150 €. We put a glass top on . For rental it’s perfect. I pay respectfully a tribute to all the designer, but also people with less money and more taste have to have it:). All the best, Lisa and Team!
I found a chandelier at restoration hardware I’d LOVE to have in my home. But it is- $14 grand. Not even kidding. 😵💫 that’s just a ridiculous price. Love to find a dupe for that! ☺️ love seeing all the options, I’ve always been a fan of a simple mid mid but not stark minimal.
I have a tremendous dupe of the Platner table in my organic modern Florida home. It is very substantial, and I got it at Joss and Main for less than 500.00! Love your channel
Hi Lisa, I'd like to go with a light wood and rattan or wicker look for my dining area, but I know the trend right now is more organic modern and traditional in a lot of furniture stores right now so I'm not finding many affordable options that will ship to Mexico. I think I might just have to have a dining set custom made,
Hey Amy, then Check out my NEW Amazon Store in the description, which has things I own, things I use and great pricing on the REALLY good stuff in there!🎉
We have some really great home resale options here and I bought the most luscious leather sofa, used it for years and then handed it off to my son and DIL for their home. Love these dupes too!
Will do!! And check out my NEW Amazon Store in the description, which has things I own, things I use and great pricing on the REALLY good stuff in there!🎉
I love your choices Lisa, great taste & those rose blooming numbers , 😍🔥🇬🇧xxxx p.s I have a a dupe of the Floss Armco Lamp in brushed silver & a real marble base, over here in the UK , I still love it 10 years on ❤️
Lisa, I used to love your channel. But these blooming flower transitions and most of these pictures you chose today are really not elegant at all. Your quality is really plummeting and I will unfollow. I decided to write this, because if people unfollow and don't ever tell you why, you won't be able to improve. Maybe your channel is just not for me, oh well.
Hi Sarah, First of all… Thank you very much for taking the time and letting me know how you feel about the channel and all of that. We are always trying to make our content better but not everything is a good idea or works out for everybody. After hundreds of videos about design, we sometime struggle for new and fresh takes. I’d LOVE to hear your thought on how I might improve! Please send me any notes if you want to hello@lisaholt.com . Looking forward to hearing back from you - Lisa
