Hey Guys! This is a serious round the world exploration of super cool vendors that we use and that you guys have turned me onto! See you guys soon!!! XOXOX -L
Hey Lisa. Great video. I have international viewers ask me this question all the time and up till now, I haven't had an answer for them. Thanks for gathering these sources and posting them here. I have taken the liberty of sharing the link to this video with some of my viewers who are asking :-) AWESOME! RR
Kinwoven!!! OMG thank you so much for sharing this video with your viewers!!! I get this question a LOT - I would imagine you do as well! 😆 Thank you again for watching and sharing this video around, it really means a ton coming from you!!! 💖🤩😘😘
Hey! this is cool, you 2 are both so much much fun and so talented just thought you guys would do an awesome live together! Thank you to both for your awesome content!
Great video but...what about Africa and Asia? Perhaps we could look at quality, legacy pieces from these regions. Discovered them while living in San Francisco.
Random fact: Mauritz of the "M" part of H&M had a son named Gunnar. Gunnar is buried at the Grand Canyon National Park Cemetary and has a point named after him- the Widforss Point. But as a Swedish-American, I also reacted to H&M being classified as British.
I love the European Union flag and the Eiffel tower to represent GB. Fortunately the presence of the perfidious Albion's army in France ended in 1558, and the UK left the European Union last January
Even if I will not be able to buy from some of the shops mentioned, they are good to check online for inspiration or to find dupes in other available stores in one country or another. Thank you! Amazing ideas as always.
O-LORD!! This vid is jam packed full of great information. I hadn't planned on globe hopping this morning but it was so much FUN! I have to tell you though I'll need to watch this 3 or 4 more times to catch every little bit! This was inspiration overload and I wouldn't have it any other way! Thank you Lisa!!
WOW WOW WOW!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! We live in a world of such diverse design! Thank you so much for all this eye-opening inspiration :) LOVE YOUR ENERGY...I ALWAYS SMILE when I see you've posted an upload :)
I love seeing what is being designed outside of the U.S., e.g., houses, cars, furniture, lighting, buildings, appliances, and kitchen stuff since I love cooking. I think Italy usually excels in all areas, perhaps Japan as well, but I’m no scholar, just a fan. Thanks for another suitcase packed full of design information. Have a great week, Lisa, everyone else too!
Deb!!! It was SO much fun traveling the world with you!!! 🌎🥰💚 Seeing how other countries do design and how it plays into their culture is sooo fascinating!!! 👏🏼 Thank you so much for watching!!! 🧡🧡🧡
Hi Lisa, good information, but I was looking for resources from India as I’m based here . Would you be able to share design ideas and furniture resources for India.
I have a Montauk sofa that is 15 years old, gets daily use, and still looks exactly like the day it arrived. Refuses to sag or age in any way. I can’t say enough.
I missed the question but a no-miss company in south-eastern Europe is the Serbian company Gir. They are contemporary AF, pardon my French, ranging from midcentury to japandi and everything in between including licenced Togo sofa for example.
IKEA really should have been in the Europe category since it’s Swedish…and the United Kingdom is part of Europe even if they’re not in the EU anymore 🤗Just wish Americans would spend 5 extra minutes to research places that aren’t the USA 😅
This was a really great video! It was nice to see what was going on everywhere else in the world. Now you have to do a part 2 and travel to Africa, Asia, South America and so forth👍
Lisa darling, i bet you could DIY that fabulous brass light fixture by salvaging a worn cymbal formerly belonging to a hot local drummer! Just add a ball peen hammer!
I very much enjoy your channel and just about everything you do, but want to point out that "Oh My" is not God's first name. Would enjoy your videos much more if you might find another way to express your enthusiasm.
Lisa I love your channel! Especially the French girl apartment. I have a lot of generic vents, smoke detectors, and control panels. What do you do to make these facts of life’s look better?
I love watching all your videos!!! Is there some places that you can find really neat accents that are minimally priced but gives you a bang for your buck!
Kathy!!! SO glad you want more resources - are you signed up for the Dezign Club?? I will be covering LOTS of places you can get LUXURY pieces at an affordable price!! 😍👏🏼 If you haven't yet, sign up here www.lisaholt.com/thedezignclub !!!! 🧡🌟
I just discovered Roger & Chris, they're based in Nebraska and make their own furniture (so,in the USA) and provide a TON of information about how the pieces are made and the functionality of various materials. Lisa, you should definitely check them out because I think you would absolutely LOVE their work!
Denise!!! It's been a BLAST looking at all the sites you guys sent in, it was so hard to come down to a few recommendations!!! 🤩💕Thank you so much for watching, see ya next week!!! 🙌🏼🌟😆
This was a fun video Lisa. Thanks for including Canada. I have a design question. My design style is a mix of up/modern country and coastal. Im having the whole main portion of my home painted White on White from Glidden. It was suggested I paint ALL my entry hallway doors black. Is this a good idea? Im in a townhouse. My entry way is very wide. No issue with space. My front door is 43 inches wide. I have the front door, 2 closet doors, powder room door and garage door. I like the idea of a pop of black in the hall. I like the idea of black doors making it easier to clean. Think our Canadian winters. Lots of salt and wet and mud for 6 months . LOL Do you think painting ALL the doors black is too much? Is it ok to just paint the front door and garage entry door black? Or do I have to paint all them black? I can send you a picture. OHHH I sure wish designers like you could recommend designers up here. Thanks for always answering my questions.
Hey Barbara! Hope you’re keeping well! Two cents from the peanut gallery: The Canadian Contemporary style I keep seeing around does incorporate a lot of black as an accent piece - especially on windows and doors! If you’ve got the space and the lighting, I think a high gloss black or off-black would work really well. (Think Tricorn or that really deep Farrow&Ball black, in a super gloss or almost lacquered finish.) I’d think that the high gloss on the black would lend it almost a mirrored surface, having the effect of making the hallway seem larger and the door a bit more grand! If you’re able to incorporate black finishes elsewhere throughout the room and home, I don’t see why you couldn’t! If nothing else, you won’t miss it in a blizzard!
I'm so glad I watched this video. We need a chandelier for the dining room and what we've seen so far has been either too ornate or just crap. I went to lightopia and OMG I'm loving a bunch. now I have to narrow it down! - just a side note though, you mentioned furniture that can be passed down to your kids, as a kid who inherited a bunch of expensive mid-century furniture, we don't want it. I get that right now it's in style but i hate mid century modern. the harvest gold and burn orange stuff, omg no. but i did like the formal dining set because it's a heavy duty table and isn't something that will fall apart easily, I did change out the wicker back harvest gold velvet chairs with something more modern looking but that was the only thing I thought, ok I'll use this. the rest went to the curb and someone came by and took it.
YAY I am so glad I could introduce Lightopia to you!! 👏🏼 Don't they just have the BEST selection?!?! 😍💖STUNNING. I totally hear you about getting passed down furniture, especially if it is not your style!!! At least you found a few good pieces and could pass it down to someone that was interested in it!!! 🤗 Thank you so much for sharing this and for watching!!! 😘💜💐
Lisa, I have a question about lamps. My style is cottage. Where can I find some lamps that would work with my style and not cost a fortune? Also- why are good lamps sitting expensive?
Teija!!! I am SO thrilled you asked this - I am going to be talking about lighting + lamps in the Dezign Club!! I am going to be covering LOTS of specific design solutions including specific design deep dives, project tutorials, webinars, and SOOO much more on there - how exciting!!!!!!! 😍👏🏼 Make sure you are signed up here www.lisaholt.com/thedezignclub so you get prepped for the launch happening SUPER soon!!! 😉
I just love your enthusiasm! We have a Williams Sonoma Home outlet in my area. I’m not a drinker, but your videos have convinced me that I need a bar cart 😁
Aloha Lisa, love your videos. What are the best lights to use over a kitchen island that’s closely across from a large tv? I’m concerned about lights reflecting off the tv screen. I prefer one chandelier versus pendants. Any suggestion? Thank you. Wailsna
Jody!!! Great question... Send me this question in my Q&A box www.lisaholt.com/q-a-submission because I feel like a TON of people will get a lot of info from this answer!!! 💕🤗
Loved this video. I'm from down under - Australia, and I learned something new. I will be checking out my own backyard for some interesting home decorating ideas. Thanks for good work and recommendations x
🇨🇦 Fab compilation. Ty for featuring Canadian/Montreal furniture. These talented artisans are often left out of designer showcases because of language barrier.
Dear Lisa, beautiful info. Excelent! Can you tell me the name of chandelier that you show from Lightopia? I really love it I want to buy it now!!! Thank yoy 👏🏻👏🏻
I am Waka from Japan. Always enjoy watching your video with your passion. This video encouraged me go to ZARA HOME ( which is near my home, I did't notice that! thank you Lisa!) I hope Muji from Japan is going to be recommended someday, even Lisa feels it missy.
Hi Lisa! This is such a great video! ❤️ One of my faves, even! (It isn’t really a buy-this-not-that video like the thumbnail suggests, but I don’t mind because it’s amazing!) I really appreciate the interstitials with the country names; they’re beautiful … give your new editor a raise! (… although I’m not sure the Britain one will get you a lot of applause, given its tenuous relationship with the EU at the moment.) You mentioned Bois et Cuir (and your pronunciation wasn’t half-bad)! 😀 Maybe you’d heard of them already but if you hadn’t don’t tell me because I want to feel excited knowing that my tip made it into one of your videos! 🥰 I haven’t heard of the other two suggestions so I will definitely check them out! 🇨🇦 Also, I’m thrilled that so many of the American shops you mentioned are in Canada too! 😀 Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, West Elm, and CB2 all have stores in Vancouver (and all of them except CB2 are even on the same street!). Zara Home has an online store in Canada but I can’t tell if they have a brick-and-mortar store because their online store locator is broken. 😐 Thanks for keeping your community in mind when you make these videos … it really makes it so wonderful to be a part of the family! See you at next week’s avant-première! 👋🏻
Jonathan!!! Thank you for all this wonderful feedback!!! 🤩 I am SO glad I could take a trip around the world and introduce to you some new stores!!! 🌎🥰💚 I had to give my international viewers a little shoutout with this video - that's so cool that you can find some US stores over in Vancouver!!! I appreciate the sweet comments you send in every video - I'll see you next week!!! 😘👋🏻💕
Oh… my new editor is Matt! He is great, but still learning our style. My old editor is actually my business partner Dana! She’s spending all of her time helping us get the Dezignclub up and running! Glad to get the seal 🦭 of approval! 🤣
Wow the production on your videos is top notch Lisa!! These are some great resources and great video concept! Obsessed with CB2 and I have that boucle curvy chair! Debating if I should get a second to have a pair or mix it up with a different curvy chair that CB2 carries called the Bacio lounge chair. 🤔 I can’t decide! Leaning towards mixing though! By the way there are a lot of smaller more boutique sites that I’ve seen with great and beautiful things also.
Ugh I hate living in Europe. Everything is at least 20% more expensive than the US and there's so much less available. It's either extremely expensive or totally crap quality, almost nothing in between.
Bennie!!! SO glad you could discover some new stores and pieces through this video!!! All of these photos I show for inspo are from various magazines + blogs (in the description) so I am not quite sure where it's from!!! If I know where products are from, I will link them in the description box!!! 😇 BUT, I will be linking a TON of different baskets and other fun pieces in the DezignClub shop!!! If you're interested, sign up here www.thedezignclub.com/ so you can be prepped for the launch!!! 🙌🏼💕💌
I ordered and received an upholstered couch from Arhaus. You get what you get. If the upholstery is not good, tough! They WILL NOT make it right. Their product looks good in the show room, maybe not when you get it. Shame good lookin product.
Your French was magnifique! I'm going to check out some of those pieces.... and I agree, that brass chandelier was GROOVY! THANKS for the compilation. I love having options!
This totally gave me the travel bug, I cannot wait to start traveling again!!! 🤩✈️💕 SO glad I could take you on a world tour this week, thank you so much for watching and supporting the channel!!! 🌎🥰
Ooooh hey, a Canadian store I didn't know about - Bois & Cuir! I'll have to check that out! It's disappointing that Canada doesn't have the population to support as many choices as a place like William Sonoma. I discovered they had a Home site but didn't ship to Canada - so sad! Thanks for the video! It's fun to see what's happening in other parts of the world.
Melody!!! SO glad I could introduce Bois & Cuir and show you around the WORLD this week!!! 🌎🥰💚 And aww noo!!! We need to start a petition for them to ship to you guys!!!! 😉 Thank you so much for watchinggg!!!!
Douglas!!! Welcome to France!!! 🇫🇷❤️❤️ I am so glad I could suggest a few new places to style up your new place!!! Thank you so much for watching!!! 🥰👏🏼🥂
Another fabulous video! It was super interesting to get a glimpse of products available from different parts of the world. As always, you have produced informative and highly entertaining content!
E!!! It was a BLAST to travel around the world with you guys this week!!! 🌎🥰 I am so glad I could introduce you to a few new stores!!! Thank you so much for tuning in this week, I LOVE chatting it up with you guys every week!!! 🌟🤩💖
Hey Lisa this was so enlightening ⚡️I live in Australia 🇦🇺 and never heard of the Australian sites you mentioned...Thank you 🙏 as usual you are the best !!
I love the lighting referrals, Lisa. Can’t wait to browse for a new dining room chandelier. By the way, I DID order a sofa from Distinctive Chesterfields at your personal recommendation last year. It is in final production and will hopefully arrive soon. I ordered the 4-seater Blenheim in vintage tan, and I am very eager to see it in my living room! I look forward to seeing more of your curated shopping picks. Don’t forget us traditional types. 🤓
Andrew!!! SO glad you could join me in this world tour this week!!! 🌎🥰 And OMGGGG how exciting!!! I am super happy for you, you HAVE to share pics when it arrives!!!! 🤩🤩👏🏼 The Dezign Club is going to have lots of traditional style picks - don't you worry!!! 💗✨😉
