I came up with a fun idea for people who like to make up characters. Feel free to try this: Pick out an art supply or something that you can have a collection of, that comes in colour variations that have their own names. For example: art supplies, makeup, nail polish, sparkles, dyes, heck you could even use things like scarves or hats or even candy! Mix up everything you have, whether it be from only one of your named collections, or multiple if you want. Now pick one of the items without being able to see them. You're then going to make a character inspired by the name of the colour and use the colour, or if it's not an art supply, pick out a supply of the closest colour you have to it, in the medium you've chosen to create your character, and use it in the design. If you do this, come let me know and I'll go look at it if I have a way to do so ^-^
I did this after reading your comment, even though I didn’t create a human, I got black *sadly because it’s pretty boring in my bright style of art* so I created a black cat hanging out with a pack of wolves, acting like it was the leader. Personally a great idea. I haven’t finished coloring, I’ve just sketched. FYI, I won’t post it anywhere sorry!
I’m gonna try this! I’m exited ^^ Edit: Apparently I have to work with black also... I chose by slapping my hand on one of my pencil swatches and choosing a finger and whatever color that finger landed on was the one I was going with... so I chose to make a lazy melanistic leopard. I am actually doing this virtually on procreate tho... hopefully that’s not breaking the rules
Let's aknowledge how she is talking to us like we are her freinds and are sitting/hanging out with her there while she is filming. :) Edit: Ty for the likes and replies I never had that many! :)
Mira, I know that this is not news to you...but I love that you like my Mom are left handed...She passed away a few days ago, and watching someone paint and draw as she would have written gives me such joy.
I could literally fill a whole sketchbook, and I mean the ENTIRE sketchbook with all of Mira's "How to fill your sketchbook" videos! I love these ideas, and I must say that Mira has helped me improve my art so much! ❤
@@rien9265 they’re the Caran D’Ache Luminance and pretty expensive, but there are different sized sets and also singles. They do a range called Pablo that are pretty good too, similar quality to Polychromos, and Arteza is a good cheaper option.
Three questions that always pop up in my mind whenever I watch one of Mira’s videos: 1. How does this channel not have millions of subscribers already?! 2. Who is disliking these videos?! 3. How can one person have this much talent and creativity?! Mira you are awesome 👏🏻 🙌🏻🥰😘 Love you and your videos! ❤️🤗❤️
We used to call them 'scribble pages' when I was young. We'd each do our own and compare them, it was fun cuz there were no 2 alike. I love the gradient style you used. Your page was beautiful, thank you for bringing back fun memories for me.
In this video you mention to take inspiration from your favorite artist pieces and I love doing that with youtubers like you. Every video I take my favorite art pieces from someone’s video and use it as inspiration to try and new style and new ideas. It’s really helpful to get an idea of your style and what you like to draw or paint.
Loved that scribble! I actually use that when I am with my students and we are working with our colored pencils! Helps with their coloring pressure...!
I love watching your videos. I’m going to try a theme page a day after watching this video. I’ve been doing flowers for as long as I can remember. It’s time to move to something else. Thanks for the videos!
I have a design mini sketch book where I have sections for Mandalas, zentangles, zentangle tile puzzle, and interesting lines. I ended up with an entire print series thanks to the zentangle section of that sketchbook that I'm going to combine in a colouring book as well!

Yayayayya I always take so long to complete my sketchbooks haha 😂 I will definitely try these 8 ways out!
You are so prolific in filling your sketchbooks! I was sure you were going to do a POSCA dot pattern Mandala, after you did the B&W Mandala! Maybe next video? I know you have so many good ideas and your videos are so FUN! I have been doing some Rock paintings, nothing worth posting, but little stones of happiness to leave around town to brighten someones day. I don't know who to credit for doing this, but you might want to show your viewers how to create stones of happiness on your channel? Brighten or bring happiness to your town or city! Your videos are a breath of fresh air, thanks Miranda.
Thanks Michael! The stone painting video is actually on my list! I’m gonna wait until the weather warms up a little first and get some good stones in a local creek! 😁😁 How cool you’ve been painting them too! I’m sure you’re spreading lots of happiness in your area!
Your sketchbook videos always inspire me. Thank you for this one! I really liked your take on the Monet painting and the gradient loop de loop page near the beginning.
Thanks for these ideas - the scribble colouring was perfect to experiment with mixing watercolours, controlling gradients in tight places (and using up the last weird bits of paint on my palette).
I get so excited to see your videos because your ideas and techniques are achievable for the average person, like me. It's also really good to recommend to clients for maintenance of mental health. Thank you for mentioning Brene Brown. She's another favourite of mine. Just glad I watched this video!
Yay, I love your sketchbook videos! Been struggling with anxiety and depression for the past year (I've had it forever but the last year has been difficult) so I've abandoned all my hobbies. I've felt myself missing getting my art stuff out lately so this video came at the perfect time!
You just made me order a scetchbook! I do color mandals in books, never tryed to create one, but now I will try! I really like your ideas and inspiration and the whole mood of this video is very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing! And I too think that foxes are really adorable. You've just got a new follower, I'm looking forward to watch more of your works :-)
The foxes are so amazing and so cute. The art piece with all of the lines reminds me of something I did in 3rd grade art class, the only difference is that we did it with our names. Also the leaf is gorgeous!!😄 Happy Easter 🐰🐇🐣
One thing I like to do is listen to these videos while free drawing not even doing the ideas but still listening, It’s a really nice idea because you can save time!
The draw this again challenge is a healthy way of seeing your progress and style changes. Great video presented in a calming relaxing way that helps encourage less stress.
I love all of the ideas in this sketch book! I draw mandalas, too. The one you created is so awesome and unique, and I'm definitely gonna try something like that! Thank you for all of your kind words and uplifting personality. It's beautiful.
I really like the leaf with the deep evergreen background and the gold on top!! 🌲 Your little critter faces make everything cuter!! 😍 Maybe a forest of critters?
There are SO MANY videos you have made that have inspired me but I have to say the sketchbook ideas videos are near and dear to my heart! It has literally gotten me out of an Art block so many times!💖🖌🎨
This is a really cute set of drawings. I love the green, white and gold pieces. That should totally become a print. Make a couple more for a set. But I also love the sky theme characters. Would love to see you do a set of expression clouds.
