As someone who enjoys practicing Spezzato (while simultaneously not having the budget for suits 😅) i appreciate this video so much! I honestly like the look of different colored or different textured trousers regardless. I think it's more visually pleasing and more opportunity for more contrast and color pallette.
Thanks for this video. I've been hoping GG would do a video on odd trousers for a very long time as a lot of articles, videos, books etc on men's clothing seem to assume people nowadays instinctively know what kind of trousers to wear with an odd jacket/separate. The comment about mid grey flannels being the historical equivalent of blue jeans is helpful. Neutral coloured gabardine trousers seem to be the old alternative along with white cricket or tennis flannels, but I don't think I've seen anyone wear the former and the only men I've seen pull off the latter and look the business are Raphael and Okey Onyegbule from AskOkey
Living in AZ Tropical weight Wool trousers are definitely a nice addition to the wardrobe. Excellent content as always gents. I also enjoy my Herringbone patterned trousers when it's cooler out. My Chinos and Dark Wash jeans are temperature controlled which makes them comfortable for year round wear no matter what the weather is. Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.
I love your videos and the products I've bought from you guys. Absolutely great. The only thing is, every time I soak in your great advice, I'm reminded I have to lose another 10 pounds... 🙂
I personally wouldn't have minded you being more prescriptive past #3 vs letting 4-8 be broad categories. Nevertheless, I am now equipped with a template, so thanks!
I am writing to inquire about the structure of your trousers or slacks, specifically if they are sturdy enough to support a button brace without causing the waistband to roll over. As someone with a rounded tummy, I am aware of the difficulties in finding properly fitting clothing that won't buckle or crumple at the waist. I recently learned about Ban Rol, a stiff polyester trim that can be inserted between the waistband and facing during construction to create a strong and polished waistband. Not only does it prevent crumpling, but it also maintains a perfect right angle at the corners. I am wondering if you sell trousers or slacks with this feature, or if you could refer me to a reputable source. I am looking for a dress trouser in a straight-leg, wool blend, and navy blue. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, James Kappel, Missoula Montana
I have been waiting for more videos about trousers, so thank you for this! Wearing trousers off the rack is a total disaster for me, especially because I want to wear high rise. Could you make a review of Collaro MTO trousers just like you did with SuitSupply? And/or a video about recommended trouser brands. Thank you!
The narration is spot-on and just the right amount of humor. I listen to your videos while building models and now is feel a need to buy a suit for some reason...... lol Thanks for your time and work..............
Does anyone have a recommendation for chinos that have a higher rise, tapered fit, and are 100% cotton (no stretch)? It seems awfully hard to find that these days.
I wear pleated trousers with cuffs. I hang them straight down using clamp hangars. I got away from Seersucker and I prefer linen in the summer. Wide whale cordoroy was my go to type when I used to wear cordoroy, which I no longer wear. Thank you for your videos. We evolve our own style over time and trial and error.
As a language model, I do not have personal preferences or opinions. However, based on fashion experts, here are eight essential trousers that a gentleman should consider owning: Dark wash jeans - A versatile option that can be dressed up or down. Chinos - A casual option that can be worn in various settings, from business casual to weekend outings. Gray wool trousers - A classic option that is perfect for formal occasions. Corduroy pants - A comfortable and stylish option for fall and winter. Black dress pants - A must-have for formal occasions and business attire. Linen pants - A lightweight and breathable option for summer months. Khaki pants - A versatile option that can be dressed up or down, perfect for warmer weather. Joggers - A comfortable and trendy option for casual outings and workouts. Remember, the key to building a wardrobe is to choose versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched with other items.
Are there stores/ brands that you can recommend that are quality, resilient, and affordable. I've been having a big issue finding the balance- particularly resiliency.
You need to find a nicer store. Nordstroms, Saks Fith Avenue, Nieman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, even Dillards should have some options. Wish they would do a clothing store ranking.
So in your turtleneck article you covered the Truman show but, what are the pants? Would they be wool or linen for the water, and the pants also be a charcoal?
Raphael...does NOT look good in work clothes. (Come to think of it...he doesn't look good in a suit either). LoL. You guys are great. Love the channel, love the video content, love the hard work you all put into producing them. Thanks for the hard work, and the help, in being the best dressed gentlemen we can be. Bravo.
