New wife here! Jamie i watched just about every single video of yours since before I was even engaged. I’m now a wife! I planned my own wedding and hired a day of coordinator. The 2 months before the wedding became very stressful, but the process was soooo much fun for me. We had our wedding in October 2023 and I just want to say thank you so much for helping us clueless brides get through. I will say that I was sad for a few weeks after the wedding because of how beautiful and grateful it felt to have a day dedicated to us. It flew by, but I made sure to eat and enjoy every single moment. It was a perfect day even with minor things that we couldn’t control. Sending so much love to you from Los Angeles California.

I'm planning on doing a hairstyle that can be done the day before, and that can be wrapped with the head scarf overnight. I have a lot of hair, and doing something fancy takes a lot of time. My intended and I both deal with anxiety day to day and cutting one more thing out of the getting ready process on the wedding day will give us more down time with just the two of us before the ceremony

I decided not to have a bridal party partially because I didn’t want anyone to feel left out or to spend money on a new dress BUT ALSO because I knew that having to coordinate everything with them and getting a bunch of questions to answer would stress me out. I still have a good group of gals coming and I will probably have breakfast with them before the day gets started but I’m glad that leading up to wedding I don’t have to coordinate and delegate so much and that on my wedding day I’ll just have close family getting ready with me. A big part of this process has been trying to prevent as much anxiety as possible, as a very anxious person!

If you're here bc you're anxious, keep scrolling. Nah, I'm Team Rehearsal, *especially* if you're trying to hit specific musical cues. I have seen too many botched entrances, officiant w/o the lapel mic, blocking messed up, wrong song played, etc. Weddings are a production, and opening night is all you get.

Great video! We are a year out, but already thinking about these things. We plan to position the Sweetheart Table as far from the DJ and speakers as possible and to set up a table and chairs outside the reception area for when they need a little break. Sunset photos are also planned. We booked the venue from noon Friday to 10 am Sunday so that we have ample time to load in everything and get settled and so that we don't have the added burden of running from place to place. The rehearsal dinner is at the venue on Friday night. Hair and Make up are coming to the venue, so we don't have to go out. We hired a team of two coordinators who will help with all the details from set up to clean up and everything in between. We already booked a top notch DJ who can keep the party going even if the couple needs to slip away for a breather. We also are having no children. Just one more thing to prevent anxiety or overwhelm. The plan is for my daughter and her fiance to have no duties. I loved the idea of having a SIGNAL for when anxiety is increasing. We will do this for sure! The MOH is terrific for this. She is very in tune and is not afraid to jump in there on the bride's behalf. Thanks again for your sensitivity to this and for how helpful your videos have been to me, the mother of the bride.

First I want to say the people who love you and your fiance won't care if it's "just" the ceremony so long as they know that it's just the ceremony and don't show up expecting to have a full meal and reception. Second, if you still want some kind of get-together, consider something like a cake and punch reception, which basically is serving cake and punch (or something similar), people getting a chance to say congratulations to you and mingle with each other. They are often held right after the ceremony at the same location and can be kept super short, like an hour or two. Again make sure people know that you're not having a "normal" reception and you're not surviving a full meal. I'd suggest watching Jamies vedios on low-cost desserts and low-cost drinks. Good luck with your wedding whatever it ends up looking like 😊

We’re going a private last dance. Also, we do plan on slipping away after taking sunset photos.

Idk if I'll get my question answered because I know you have a big following, but this video is pretty recent and only has a few comments so I'm hoping you will see it. Lol. How do you think a wedding would go if it was just a ceremony and no reception? Me and my fiance don't have much money and we have two kids to care for. We have literally been engaged since 2016 before I got pregnant with our first kiddo and A LOT of life has happened since keeping us from really ever planning anything. We are hoping for next year, but I'm worried it might come off rude if I expect people to show up to see us get married and they get nothing in return. I did think about having nicer edible favors to give everyone as they leave as a little thank you. Honestly, we just don't have the money for a big party and with my recent health issues I just don't think I have the stamina to party it up anyway. I think it would better to put what little money we do have towards the ceremony and nice photography and a little tiny honeymoon for us because we could use the break and time for us but hate feeling like I might offend some people. Thoughts? 🥴🥴🥴
