8 farmworkers killed in bus crash caused by suspected impaired driver 

RIP deepest sympathies to their families I pray the injured will recover. These victims do the hard work to put fresh fruits and vegetables on our tables.

They are human, hard working people . Things can happen to anyone of us. Death is not a vengeance on anyone, it doesn’t matter who we are . Let us be human and feel other people pain. I guarantee you we will all face the lost of our love one when day . If you have never been there it is painful . I pray the God of all comfort will be with these family.

I posted this comment earlier as a reply to someone’s post and I guess they must have had a change of heart because they deleted their comment. I am now reposting my comment to everyone who is using this as a political platform to express how happy they are that this tragedy happened. Regardless if they were illegals, they were human beings. You obviously haven’t had a loved one killed by a drunk driver. I’ll pray that you never know that pain because I don’t wish that on anyone. You must not believe in Jesus because that was THE MOST un-Christian thing to say. Jesus said we should love others as we do ourselves. Whether they were illegal should not be a reason to be glad someone is dead.

A Ranger did all this???😮 Giving this some thought, and the fact that the Ranger "drifted" into the opposing lane, the minor damage to the Ranger, it seems as perhaps the bus driver saw what was going to happen, "yanked" the steering wheel too much, and lost control. I believe the road was wet as well. Just speculating 🤔.

It sucks that we have let so many people abuse the asylum system that people actually look at hard working migrants like they are the same as the ones hanging out in the cities demanding free stuff. These people were up early and on the way to work stop seeing people as a group. This is tragic and the people involved in this crash deserve the prayers and sympathy of the community they live in.

Deepest sympathy for the families of the workers. Bus looks small than a regular bust that can hold 53 people and driver 54. On a bus, there are no safety belts, so death toll will be greater. The driver of pickup will sober up real fast in detention (unless he gets bail). and be in shock when he finally comes around. His nightmare has really begun if he thought drinking his troubles away would help him. What a sad world this world has become!

Pickup wasnt damaged very bad. The bus driver must have turned to sharp to try and avoid collision. Bus probably had lots of tools loose in the bus.

Very sad. I remember during covid I had to have a permission slip to drive to and from work at Amazon . We have many migrant workers around the Ruskin area. I would see those busses jammed pack with migrant workers like a vw beetle with 20 clowns coming out. Not one mask, no social distancing, no seat belts.

But they are people that had died because someone one was out early drinking . These individuals were hardworking farmers who came here on contracts every year to support their families. If they were where they were supposed to be, they’d still be here. At least they were hard workers and not the type camping outside on New York streets demanding housing and free benefits.

It is really sad to read some of these comments. Whatever their legal status was, they were human beings first, and likely followers of Jesus Christ. They were workers employed in an industry and subsequently a state and country that desperately needs them working in these low paid positions, often outdoors in the sun and heat, or in packing warehouses, slaughterhouses, and production lines. The better jobs being cleaning hotel rooms or washing dishes. It is really sad that your first consideration isn't the human beings who died in a violent collision, maybe suffering for a while before they succumbed. Sad that your first consideration isn't that their lives were suddenly cut short, ending any dreams or aspirations they had. Sad that your first consideration wasn't for the anguished hearts of their wives, husbands, sons, daughters and parents whose worlds will be shattered today. Whether or not these victims were "illegal" as you put it, should matter not for anyone who calls themselves Christian. Nor should it matter for anyone with a heart and compassion for other human beings, even ones who come from outside the borders of the United States, and even ones who came here surreptitiously, or who overstayed their visas. If they indeed were "illegal", they were nonetheless obviously trying to contribute to our economy. That's why the overwhelming majority of migrants come here. They come to work, and these poor people died working in an economic sector that is critical to our country. I hope they rest in peace, and I hope that the people only concerned with what their legal status was can muster up enough human feeling and Christian compassion to extend a sliver of sympathy today before you revert back to your regular disposition tomorrow.

I’m about 20 minutes from Gainesville and familiar with the migrant workers in the area like everyone here. These people aren’t like the ones everyone hears about in places like New York and California that are robbing people and causing problems. Our aliens are hard working people who don’t cause problems. I see them in the stores in clean clothes, before work getting their food and drinks and they always pay with cash not ebt. I see them again around lunchtime after working in the field for hours getting food and drinks. In the evening after work I’ll see one or two picking up a few beers to enjoy after a long hard day of work. We don’t have any problems with them like we have with young American men who drink too much and get loud, rude and want to fight. I see many at the Catholic Church over the weekend. My prayers go out to the friends and their families of those who were killed and injured today and also to the man who did this horrific thing.

A six month investigation but they are already charged the driver within 6 minutes? I saw the overhead footage and didn't see the truck driver cross the line. They both seemed to be right on the line going straight. Something seems bogus about this whole report.
