I think completing all the quest, getting base 40 for all skills is just a great way to get a feel for the game and see if it’s for you, seen so many friends play for a few hours, or a week and then jumping to members, still clueless and kinda stuck.
may be someday i try out membership at lvl 3. lol see how it goes. However, i see some other video that it is best to get all your f2p skill to lvl 70. you can do all the quests with that status.
@AnhNguyen-hn9vj I know I'm late, it depends. If you're dedicated to the game and like it, it's worth getting membership straight from the start. But if you're not sure and it's your first time probably worth going f2p and playing before committing.
came back to rs after about 10 years, first 2 days playtime my focus was: start only doing mage combat > complete all the quests that give xp rewards > complete dragon slayer (done at combat lvl 25) > level def and att to 40 > buy full rune god set and other best in slot items > finish the last few f2p quests. done it all really quick and easy, would recommend to anyone starting new. my members goals are gonna be to get 70 att/def/str/pray + 94mage then get dharoks for piety+vengance pk
SUMMARY: 8 goals for ftp account before getting members (Not 10 goals) 1. Complete all ftp quests 2. Complete all levels of stronghold of security in barbarian village (also get a skull skeptre while you're at it) 3. Get max ftp armor (full rune armor, amulet of power, stronghold boots, team cape: total cost: approx 150k gp) prereq: 40 def & dragon slayer quest to wear the platebody 4. Get at least level 20-30 in all ftp skills (don't worry too much on firemaking or prayer (faster xp methods in p2p) if you want to skip those) 5. Get max range armor (coif, amulet of power, green dragonhide armor, maple shortbow, adamant arrows or higher) prereq: level 40 range and defence 6. Kill all ftp bosses (Not required, but for fun) (Obor lvl 106 [need protect range prayer lvl 40 & giant key drop from hill giants] and Bryophyta lvl 128 [need protect from magic prayer lvl 37 & mossy key drop from moss giants]) 7. Get lvl 55 magic (unlocks high alchemy & most teleportation spells) 8. Get a bond for 14 days membership cost in grand exchange: approx 3-4 mill gp
Just for clarification, if anyone is watching this anymore, the updated melee best in slot has slightly changed, use any of the rune God armour pieces for armour and a cabbage cape for less weight.
1. You stated that only 40 attack and defence is needed for the best in slot melee gear but missed the vambraces requirement of 40 ranged. 2. God rune armour gives additional prayer bonuses of +4.
@@EtwonYoung All god armor is better then rune and they all have the same stats so you can pick what you like, or do what I did and buy what was selling for the lowest amount XD
The god rune items from hard Treasure Trails can only be originally obtained by members, but are available in F2P and have the same stats as regular rune but with a prayer bonus, so I'd say that they qualify as the best F2P gear, not the regular rune items.
Great guide! I been playing mobile for a few weeks now and this helped me to set some goals. I also started training Ranged right away and it's been expensive and painful, but it's the skill I'm most interested in :)
@@itsshowtime6412 The minotaurs in the security stronghold drop iron arrows which are good enough to train to lvl 40 on mobs I'd say. You gotta train combat anyway so might as well. Just a thought
It's a good guide but just some minor mistakes. God rune armour is better because it gives +1 prayer from each piece. It's not team capes are best in slot, but it's all capes are best in slot as all f2p capes are 100% identical. Green d'hide vambracers are bis melee, requiring 40 range.
my guide for last day on f2p is for max p2p quest or achievement diary - Lumby guide toggle on to auto equip arrows - 61 mining (motherlorde mine with dragon pickaxe to 68) - 70 smithing - 68 fishing - 70 cooking - 65 firemaking - 70 woodcutting - 63 crafting (then green d bodies to lvl 70 in p2p) - 45 prayer (77 prayer, don't go higher if you're keen to pk with a clan) - 60 mage (kill elvarg with fire blast, anti dragon Mystic might and Melee prayer and swordfish the Snuggle guide) - 50-55 range (get blue d hide and accumulator when member, = faster training) don't worry about combat it's just too slow the f2p quests will get you 20 attack and 33 str from lvl 1 defence I just got to lvl 10 with range defence training and if you want to have a powerful account don't go past 70 defence and 70 attack until you work out what items you want to wear once you get higher lvl in these skills, you can't go back - speed run yt vid All f2p quests (range boss fights and buy 100 energy potions sip when at a bank) - runecrafting is just too slow to train in f2p.. - after all that, go members enjoy you earned it.
Small mistake, best in slot f2p boots are the decorative ones from the minigame. You can at least get the red ones for like 4 tickets which takes a couple of games, and they're just much better than the fancy boots
followed this guide and completed Dragon Slayer and loved it so i just got a membership. Too bad i didn't get it on May 4th before the price was raised
ive been playing RuneScape since 2005 and I have a pure range and mage accounwith 88 wc im not raising my defense or attack or strengths and doing quests and ive been member before. none of this is necessary what you need in members is money and that means skills like fishing, woodcutting, and mining.
Goal 1: buy membership Seriously, I love f2p (I only play it actually, out of nostlagia and also to challenge myself), but if you're planning on spending any real amount of time playing the game, you're gonna have a lot more fun just starting off immediately with membership. Not to mention any f2p goals you might have will be accomplished much more quickly with membership.
AlternateHanta I wholeheartedly disagree with this, especially for new players. The game already is pretty open ended for players to explore and experiment, these are a good set of goals for people to familiarize themselves with the mechanics and skills of the game enough to understand how to go about moving around the membership world. I strongly ENCOURAGE F2P players to get membership eventually because it is way more fun because of how much it adds to the game.
bones, big bones, demon ashs, now icemountain the fish arent for food they give prayer. should do an updated version as ive done most of the list with a character less then 4 days old. all im missing atm is one of the bosses and a bond. ive got 40-50 in everything else other then runecrafting, prayer(is at 30 so chugging along) and members skills.
I'm really annoyed about ingame stuff being tied to the authentificator. Due to changing mobiles every so often, two factor is just annoying. Choosing not to use that one locking me out of second best in slot items is grinding my gears.
Aye but is it really worth it? As a free player I see lots of cool looking people wandering around. Then a member walks past and they look RIDICULOUS. And when you are fishing or cooking you keep getting told that members can catch or cook YET ANOTHER food item, when there are already an excessive amount of items to be dealing with. Then it seems to do this or that you need this particular item or that particular requirement, otherwise it can't be done. But what if you don't want to use the item or have that particular skill? No thanks. The free to play version of the game seems far superior.
I’ve been on rs3 f2p for a while and recently went to osrs and I have to say that osrs f2p is quite boring in comparison. And I’ll tell you one thing that I never wanted to be nostalgic about: the fucking run energy always being at 0%.
At 6:00 you say that prayer is the least useful for F2P. I believe your wrong, yes it takes a WHILE to get prayer to a decent level. A great goal for F2P before members would be level 43 prayer. This protects you from melee and your a little bit closer to 99. Prayer is really important and sometimes can be the difference in a match. Overall great video, really enjoyed it and learned from it. Good job.
@@FlippingOldschool ahh thats true but the way you present it makes it seem like you need a certain number of quest points to start slayer. Also i dont think talking about block spots is really important for a video targeted at new players as it wont effect them for a long time
p2p stands for PAY to PLAY. You can become a member by paying regardless of your accounts progress. Lmao imagine Jagex refusing to take your money because you hadn't completed some random shit.
I'm just worried if I do the f2p missions after I get the membership I won't receive the p2p rewards after they're completed. Can someone confirm or deny whether I'm missing out?
No you aren’t missing out at all. You’ll get all the rewards. It’s good to do the quests in F2P before you buy membership actually so you aren’t doing them while you’re paying. You’ll need it all completed, it won’t take long at all though. And you’ll really enjoy your journey in p2p! Feel free to upgrade early if you really have the itch to try it though
I started playing on mobile again after a while and I used Game Center on iPhone to make the account. for some reason when I tried to do the 2 way authentication for the boots it wouldn’t let me because it says I have an invalid email so I can’t do #2 :/
You can still changer your email on the runescape website. It's important you use a recognised mailing server like gmail or outlook. Other extensions of emails, like local providers or work adresses won't work since jagex can't guarantee its safety. Changing your email for 2 way authentication is really worth it in the long run, you will get scammed earlier or later if you don't.
In order to finish the SoS you must download and install Google Autheticator on a mobile phone. There is no option to have a log-in code sent via text for example, @MDSsystems.
I got the 1 week free trial of the membership from mobile, did Waterfall, The gnome tree and the holy Grail, went from 25 attack, defense and force to 40 in all of those skills, and also from 11 do 29 prayer lmao
Have I ruined my account by not questing soon enough? I want to make a Zerker pure and have 55 atk, 60 str, 40 def, 65 range, 67 mage, 61 hp. Combat level 62?
Around 8 years ago when I was 10, I wanted to get membership so I started to typing in strange characters on the membership area, and kept editing the URL and stuff for like 30 min, I soon have up just to see next day that I had almost a year of membership, I was so amazed of this, just to forget my password a few months later, I hate myself jaja
@@xyz-qe1vw unfortunately my man, it does t work any more due to the new backend technologies, but it was basically simulating you were buying membership, after that you would be sent to an error URL, you just had to modifye it, instead of it saying unsuccessful, to typed in successful and boom, you had membership
Membershit is 12 dollars though. Thats my one and only main gripe with it. Along with the rich membership people who spit at people like me, who likes to have adventures, and these guys flexing his loot by trading and show his armor and whatever else, its just ridiculous for 2018. Like im willing to bet the new runescape's membershit is cheaper and i get even more content there. Hell consoles have cheaper membership and i get FREE games because i have a psn or xbox gold membership per month. Its as if theyre passively cashing in on our own noustalgia, but nobody cares because they got themselves a bond. Woot 2 weeks of membership...
Man most of you missed the point. Theyre cashing in on our noustalgia, and the worst part is you guys are being so modest saying "get a job" basically.
gotta wonder how useful these videos actually are.. kids nowadays won't be attracted by oldschool rs in any way.. it's only children that have grown up but use to play rs.. which nowadays will be a semi-adult with a phone and think oh shit rs bla bla but how many kids will genuinely start from 0 like it was for us back in 2004 for real.. there's no way to recreate what you felt the first time you logged onto rs and had the entire world to explore.. if you play today you most likely already did at some point and somewhat remember how shitty f2p is nvm a guide for it xd Also also.. giving f2p people, or at least "new" people money doesn't help them as much as you'd think.. back in the day my first 10k stack felt amazing and came from mining gold making bars and selling to the general shop 60 ea.. and I had fun at it.. nowadays the GE and everyone knowing everything just kills it for the rest but what would I care I already had my experience.
I'm 14 and personally these guides are actually kinda good but i got trial membership and won pick a number game the prize was 1 mil then i did trades to get food and arrows, i sold them at GE i now have 2 mil.
My brother plays runescape a lot and i did too back in the day, but hes a bigger fanatic then me. In my retrospect, and as a xx_GAMER_xx i feel alienated with the "politics" on osrs. With the 12 dollar memberships, the rich people making fun of me for whatever reason, and the scammers being exactly the same, its sad. Hell i intentionally scam myself because its FUN TO ME!!! hell most the time a rich person would feel bad for me and theyll give me more money that i get scammed by. I feel conflicted to a game i more or less grew up by...and im still playing it because its on mobile
@@rosaryinkeanushand4827 and what you said i agree! I dont know most of these items and i ask what that is or whatever and they would inevitably say that. Like god damn google doesnt exist on runescape...
