Had the great privilege of playing with these gentlemen this day. Excellent golfers, but better yet, excellent people. Adam, you got a great channel going, keep it up!
Right?! It's funny, I play with a handful of guys who are scratch or better and they all go about it in their own way. Nash never looks like he's taking a big rip at the ball but he's consistent and his distances - while not *the* longest - are pretty impressive.
Haha yeah he's a gamer. We thought about having him play off the tips in this round but thought it would be fun to see the difference between us playing the same tees. We may try playing separate tees in the future, though!
I'm torn on this format. I do enjoy the flyover, but I fear for longer videos. The 7-8 min vids are great. 10 was within reason. If they start going beyond that they just won't be as easy to consume. Also, I'd love even more content from you. You're probably my favorite golf channel currently. Have you considered Patreon or collaborating with other bigger channels to increase your reach and subscribers?
Thanks so much! A few people have echoed your sentiments so I ensured to edit the back 9 of our match (coming out tomorrow) down to 8 minutes. To be honest I'm pretty bad at promoting my channel and doing the things you've described. Something to look at, for sure! Thanks again for the feedback.
The arial views are a nice addition giving perspective to the holes you are playing. I do enjoy watching you play a match and seeing your opponents shots as well as your own. Anther very entertaining video. Thank you.
Love the hole fly overs - nice addition, Adam! Keep cranking these out bud...winter is coming. And then what do we on here watch tik tok videos? No! Scares the hell out of me! 😆
Thanks, Jonny! Here's a WITB I recorded this year: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GEv67Vlkdis.html& Since that video, I've swapped out my 4 & 5 hybrids for Titleist ones.
Hands up, I’m one of those who questioned Nash’s handicap in that first video you did. This is surely a different guy? 🤣🤣🤣 that swing is butter. I guess you nailed it when you said he was nervous back then! Course looks beautifully and loving the format
Like that I'm getting two players for the price of one, but be a bit careful that you don't overdo the "extras" - like the flyover etc. One of the reasons that I (at least) like your videos are that they are short enough to be easily consumed. Don't extend the length of the video, is basically what I am requesting 👍
Thanks for the feedback, Ola! A few others have said this and I ensured to edit the back 9 of our match (coming out tomorrow) down to the usual 8-minute format :)
@@NotAScratchGolfer i won't like or dislike that... i don't think he know how much goes into making a video and what content to use... .i love the vids and think they are perfect. if you enjoy the golf.. and shots and info... you enjoy the whole video.. thanks man
Extra length well worth it for the flyovers and watching Nash’s sweet swing as well as Adam’s less sweet but still very effective swing👍 Anyone here still doubting Nash is +3 hcap? I think not💪
Adam way to grind it out!! Good 9 Nash I’m man enough to admit when I’m wrong! That was extremely well done 9. You killed it on a tight course. I definitely misjudged you
@@nashkassam5632 it happens bro. I been in the 80’s so far this year which was my goal but shot 92 today. However I got 2 cuts for 2 birdies so I made money. You’ll be fine. Golf is an ebb and flow game. Ups and downs
Thanks, Brian! I've been trying to get to Westwood Plateau for a while because I'm sure it would photograph well! I just haven't been able to line it up.
I’ve been watching you for a couple months and have really enjoyed your videos! I also loved hearing your shot conversation towards the end of the vid. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of the flyovers as they really lengthen the video and i prefer shorter more concise editing
Yeah for a public track it's a great layout and it's always in great shape. Their green fees are a little silly (pushing $150 at peak season) but it's usually well worth it.
Thanks, Mark! Believe it or not I actually don't ever go to the driving range (aside from warming up before playing). For me, playing has always been the best practice.
Hey Adam, I recommend doing a drill where u have 8 balls surrounding a hole each at 3-4 feet and try to make all of them in a row, it really helps with those short ones.
I want to see a video where you play 2 ball, one safe and one aggressive ball. I feel like if you played a little more aggressive you could drop a shot or two
Interesting idea! I would bet that on balance my "conservative" golf leads to better scores, but on my best day playing aggressive I may indeed go lower. This is a great idea for a future video. Thanks!
Like your channel, jealous you live on the WC and can play mostly year round. Keep it going, have you ever invested in lessons to straighten out that smother hook?
You played solid, nothing special but I wouldn't be too upset with it. Just ran into a buzz saw in Nash. Any time the front 9 number is below 35 you're getting beat if you're not scratch.
Hey Adam, just wondering what irons your using, lofts etc? Seems like you should be hitting it a lot farther and just curious if they might be weak lofted clubs?
Hi Kian! Every now and again I take a lesson and I've learned that I "scoop" with my irons and add a ton of dynamic loft. My irons are Mizuno JPX 900 Forged, so not strong lofts but certainly not weak lofts either. In my case, I think it's the handyman and not the tools that are the problem :p
@@NotAScratchGolfer yeah I noticed that with your 5i and 6i, it looks like you hit it really high so that would make sense especially if they are standard lofted clubs. Have you tried stronger lofted clubs or are you just trying to dial in that swing 😜 Oh and thanks for the response, nice to see a RU-vidr with a pretty good following interact with the comments 👌👍
Hi Phil! I'd be happy to do that! In the interim, the shot tracer app I use is called Shot Tracer Pro. I've used the iOS version, Android version, and desktop version (on Mac OS). I settled on the desktop version, and there are some useful tutorial videos published by the app maker that are helpful.
Most courses do not close. We rarely get snow but sometimes courses have frost delays or temporary greens. The grass stays green so we put on a jacket and head out. A few years ago I golfed at least once a week all winter.
@@NotAScratchGolfer I just assumed Canada equals 15ft of snow in winter ☺ I see you get late sunsets in the summer. Almost identical to Irelands conditions, learn something new everyday. Love the videos. Keep it up.
@@NotAScratchGolfer Ha! Left handers swings look different for some reason i can't explain... and for whatever reason, Nash's swing has a real lefty vibe to it... it is obviously a very good swing... BTW really enjoying the videos
The Ridge course at Northview is tricky but kept in such great shape. The "tricky" bit can be overcome by playing with someone who knows their way around the course as some shots are blind or damned near it. I did NOT have that help when I played there early this season, so I will blame my poor score on that. Going for the green off the tee on 8 is silly but fun. Getting par by going around the horn is pretty easy but going for it is special - as long as you don't mind donating a ball to the water monsters.
Haha great to hear your take. Indeed, there are a few holes at Northview where course knowledge is key. I played it quite a bit early during the pandemic which helped out during this round!
I wouldn't mind doubling your time or adding a few minutes to see all 18 in one video... I like seeing all 18 at once personally but if you get the same views on two videos that is twice the views and twice the dinero so.. I understand
Thanks for the feedback, Ryen! Interestingly a lot of people have commented that they prefer the tight 8-minute format. I may try editing one like you said. I'm most concerned about making content people like to see. The view count and the ad revenue and blah blah blah follows the most important part - making good content!
@@NotAScratchGolfer well I've seen you do all 18 in 8 minutes before... I like your videos... I just don't like waiting a day or 3 to see the back 9 maybe upload both on the same day... I like the 8 minutes.. just want. To see all 18
