In my city few years ago was a store, wonderful. And when I walked there sometimes, I always hear there something like that, on video.. Store working for years. And was closed few mounts ago. Era gone😢
I remember the pirated illegal cassettes. You could tell because they had screws in the corners. My uncle had a print shop that got busted for making the covers/liners for the cassettes.
This reminds me of my buddy Ogegeko who I met at Griffith Park. He always had a cassette player with these tripped out vibrational tapes. I feel like he sent me this from heaven. ❤
Those were beautiful days when you could hang out at the park and play frisbee listening to tapes. Now the parks are over run by homeless people and drug addicts. Any person on a bike is a threat rather than someone enjoying a ride. Anyone with a backpack is deemed dangerous. U.S. went from a California dream to a nightmare of collapse. Sociological decline that no one is willing to acknowledge it's so extreme. The paradox or irony is tapes like this one and meditation clear your mind of the clutter so we can be capable of changing this scenario. The U.S. has a scourge of mental illness happening, the majority respond with instant denial ignoring the situation.

I've been studying the history of HIV/AIDS and there are frequent references to AIDS patients in this era listening to new age cassette tapes with the belief that it would boost the immune systems. I'd never heard what one sounded like until now. Helpful (and eerily soothing) context -- Thank you!

@@AntNr511that is Master Ho. He was a friend of mine for many years. He passed away over 10 years ago now. I recorded his Bible class 6 month series. I really miss him. He was a great teacher of crystals, magic, Cameron's aura meter, and more. Big healing smiles
Thank you for sharing! My mom used to listen to tapes like this when she did things around the house. It was so odd to me as a kid, but now as an adult I have deep appreciation for soothing sounds.
In the late 1980's Windham Hill soundtracks permeated our living space with a host of artists like Tim Story, Ray Lynch, Liz Story & maybe some Kitaro in the mix. It was an era of meditation and introspection, trying to find new direction.

The OP's comment to me seems entirely light-hearted, not to be taken literally as in your judgment of it as contradictory, and if anything your comment takes away the Power of Joy and Laughter. People who are primarily Literalists miss irony in humor. Unless the OP's comment was fully intended to mean his utter lack of worth ( OP, you can correct me on that ). Between "Dude!", "We are not worthy!" and "God bless" it all appears friendly, self-respecting, and generous. Legit is half the stuff labelled 'vaporwave' AI because I have suspected a LOT of those acts to be fake for a while now, and if you have anything further I'd love to read it.
@@JF-pl2fh na we not there yet not half. maybe about 15 percent...the difference ...people used to take their time getting to know their synth actually know sound design they where forced too there. those old school synths have a warmth that people still try and replicated today. most music now is made with vsts on computers and thats not the issue in itself. the issue is people not taking their time getting to know the ins and outs of what they are using..just copy and pasting what they learned from a youtube tutorial. instant gratification and dopamine. they dont want to really make art if u want more like this ana roxanne is a good start.
@OscarDamen yes that was my point to hopefully help someone out. The music journey is not a linear one. Def gotta get your mind right doing this because you will have episodes of denial..life events... whatever but u just gotta push thru. Read the vst and daw manuals!!

I used to have cassette after cassette recordings of Sunday night (I was Sunday, I think?) and lost them over time. That program was so magical. I wish there was an archive of that radio show's older programs.
@@user-ny9xg6dr4cthere is, but i haven't looked at it in years. it contains the Playlist of every show. i assembled my own download Playlist of my favorites, some 300 tracks. keep searching- it's out there! and i still have most of my taped cassettes. i think you have to look for Waveform records on your search. like 'waveform records + musical starstreams'.
When I sudenly wake up in the night , sometimes I can see something very similar on this, the temp of wave motion is exactly same, but of course it isn't so bright. I never expected that somebody can visuate something similar. Thank you very much.

Oh, but there has been and is, and will be a new age. It was new in the 60's, it's new now, and a new one will be on the horizon. It's a sustained human renaissance. An ever refreshing "Now" moment. It doesn't burn out all at once like before and feels different with every age. Every decade, distinct. Every year, a different story. It's not as flashy, but it's visceral all the same.
Great quality sound. As I started to listened to it, I then started doing something else and totally forgot that it was still playing in the background, it felt calm and relaxing; I was able to focused on other things. Thanks for sharing this.
Anybody remember a cassette from the 80s called astral projection, read by a female doctor and having electronic soothing music in the background? I`ve never been able to find it again. I bought a copy in Amsterdam around `89. Never heard of it since.

The headshop from my college town... I didn't start enjoying ambient music until about 2014 or so, then tried creating some of my own. It amazes me that people were doing this so far ahead of the times.

In the 80's, all the people I know that listened to this kind of music were that odd couple with no kids, had strange decorations, wore silk bathrobes, their house smelled funny, and they had a funky expensive waterbed with mirrored ceilings that gave off the pseudo-swinger vibe.
