8 Hours To Build A Shelter & Survive Below Freezing - My Friend has Never Been Camping :)

My friend wanted to go camping. I told him we will do some real camping. We have about 8 hours of day light to find a location, build a shelter, and sleep over night. Luckily it will only be low 30 degrees outside, but the bad news is we unknowingly slept near a few Coyotes. Who knows how close the bears were.
I think my friend learned a lesson on how hard survival can be and it was only 1 night for us.

I lost my best friend less than a month ago. We used to go out to the woods and do this kind of stuff. I enjoyed the interaction between you two. It reminded me of the value of friends willing to embrace the suck with you.

As long as we remember someone, they are never really gone. I’m sorry for your loss. Your a true friend for thinking about them & letting them live on through you. That would be “cameraman”. Another friend was going hiking near by so we asked if they could help do a little filming before and after their hikes. We were worried about getting the shelter built in time while also focusing on filming. In the end, I am very glad they offered to help film as there would have been a lot less footage. The two of us were moving none stop trying to build it. When they were gone, it was up to me and will to film.
