Starting with over-production, the anti-Just-in-time waste, all the others follow, ending with the 8-th waste of lost human potential and engagement, as the accumulated result of the others.
This is how the weaknesses of the company impair the ability to do great work by workers, regardless of how willing they may be to "make it a great day" as the current saying goes.
In reality, a great day at work is the result of a system of production that is continually improved upon so that it is most effective and efficient.
By system of production I mean the collection of methods, equipment, material, data, regulations, and personnel which interact daily across company functions to serve the needs of its customers.
